It took her a second to remember where she was. Then the memories came back—ducking out of the rain, dozing off from exhaustion.

Letting out a groan, she straightened her body, wincing as her shoulder and back protested.

Still, the rain had stopped at last.

The ground was damp, but the sky was spotless, the sun high and bright.

As she rolled her neck and stretched her arms, relieved by the clear weather, she remembered the voice that woke her.

She turned her head—and found Sinyeong staring grimly at the ground, eyes bloodshot like he hadn’t slept at all.

He looked so unusually serious that she tilted her head.

“Is something wrong?”

“....”

“Your Highness?”

His silence felt off.

Curious, she leaned in to look at his face more closely—only for Sinyeong to flinch and jerk back like he’d seen a ghost.

She blinked at him.

“Why so jumpy?”

“You suddenly stuck your face in mine. Who wouldn’t flinch?”

“You’ve seen this face plenty of times. Nothing new.”
