"Move aside, Buddy, or I'll cook you for dinner tonight~"
Buddy's eyes went wide. With an indignant squawk, he shuffled out of the way, shooting Javier a look with smug little smirk lingered on his beak.
"Eek! Buddy! Don't betray me!" Javier protested.
Liana planted her hands on her hips, eyes narrowing. "Now, now, young master… What's with all the flirting this early in the morning, hmm?"
"Ah...no, it's not what it looks like! I mean… you all were taking forever to get ready, so I thought… maybe if I..."
Before he could finish, Liana swung her leg in a sharp kick. Javier ducked and scrambled back, eyes wide.
"Chill, Liana! I swear, I didn't mean anything by it! It was Buddy's idea!"
"Cuquawked!!" Buddy puffed his feathers and glared down at Javier, clearly refusing to take the blame.
"Don't use your Pekko to cover for you!" Liana grabbed Javier by the collar and started to drag him back toward the house.
