Gurgle, gurgle!
Deep in the ocean trench, the dark blue water churned endlessly, with large amounts of murky bubbles rising and the muddy debris from the undersea battle swirling around, creating chaos where not even one's hand could be seen.
The sea demons were densely distributed around, seemingly everywhere, moving about in all directions, to the point that one could not tell up from down, left from right, or forward from backward.
If someone were to look from above the Sea of Mermaids, they would see the surface of the sea boiling like scalding water, with wave after wave crashing down. Large masses of water churned, pushing up the dismembered limbs of various demons, coloring the water a faint red.
The sea demons showed no mercy in their slaughter of the mermaids, using cruel methods where often seven or eight lesser demons surrounded a single elemental demon.
At one point, a jagged green demon saw an opportunity. With powerful long legs, it propelled its frog-like body forward like an arrow, sending triangular water ripples in its wake as it bit into the mermaid's arm, tearing it off.
Rip! The mermaid howled in pain as its arm was severed, but since it was an elemental demon composed entirely of water, there was no blood, and there were no fatal weak points. Its combat ability was unaffected.
However, before it could recover, more sea demons swarmed, tearing the mermaid to pieces. In an instant, it met its demise.
This situation played out repeatedly across the battlefield, split into countless small skirmishes, resembling a fisherman tossing bait and watching the fish form swirling vortices around it.
In some ways, the plight of the mermaid race was no different from that of bait—outnumbered and quickly overwhelmed by the vast sea demon army, disappearing without a trace. Even food could not satisfy their hunger.
To make matters worse for the mermaids, the shrill cries of pain echoed from the Water Elemental Spirit Nest. Those mermaids who had ventured to report to the "King's" nest found that their king was nowhere to be seen!
A race, with several leaders and tens of thousands of members, what were they guarding? The leader had fled.
Suddenly, the mermaids, who had been fighting fiercely, lost all will to continue. Even the three merman commanders were left unsettled. Taking advantage of the situation, the surrounding sea demons overwhelmed one of the commanders, delivering a fatal blow.
As the mermaid tribe faced total defeat, deep in the underwater rift, two thousand meters down in the continuous battlefield, a tremendous force suddenly erupted from the largest encircled battle zone.
Boom!
The sea demon formation, packed tightly together, exploded, sending massive waves of water crashing outward, forcing a retreat from the surrounding demons. Many were torn apart, their bodies reduced to mush.
Lu Jun stood firm at the center of the deep sea, his posture mighty, exuding an aura like that of a god or demon. A silver energy shield surrounded him, pushing out a vacuum zone with a radius of a hundred meters.
Screech! A strange sea demon god screeched, its entire body shocked as if struck by lightning. It was violently pushed back by the spatial shockwave, several thousand meters away.
It was clearly intimidated by Lu Jun's aura. Its eyes gleamed with multi-colored light as it tried to control its subordinates to charge recklessly, while its "elegant" figure darted behind the densely packed demons.
Buzz! Buzz!
Lu Jun's expression changed as he suddenly found himself inexplicably in a brilliant garden, filled with various brightly colored flowers. Above, the forest hung down with lush trees, and leaves fluttered in the air, creating a dreamlike scene.
The beautiful sight, however, didn't enchant him; instead, it made him feel increasingly dizzy and nauseous.
Soon, he realized what was happening and coldly sneered: "A mental realm illusion, huh?!"
Boom!
Lu Jun's eyes gleamed with different-colored glows—black-red and indigo—while the overwhelming force of his mental curse tore through the illusion, revealing the true scene.
He was confronted by a grotesque sea face up close, causing him to startle. In the brief moment, the surrounding sea demons closed in. Yet, the sea demon god had vanished into the depths of the demon swarm.
Buzz! Lu Jun's thoughts moved, and towering waves of water surged around him. Dark blue clouds gathered overhead, churning and rippling like overlapping fish scales, with water lilies blooming.
In the next moment, countless high-pressure water lines formed a massive web, spanning several hundred meters, isolating the approaching sea demons from him.
Pfft, pfft! The demons attempting to breach the pitch-black water net found their bodies stiffen as they slid uncontrollably for several hundred meters, before silently disintegrating into several pieces without reaching him.
In an instant, the nearby demons were nearly cleared.
Lu Jun's gaze sharpened, his spiritual will locking firmly onto the Sea Demon God Clan behind. His body flashed abruptly, leaving behind drifting silver fragments at his original position.
In the next moment, his figure appeared above the Sea Demon God Clan. With two fingers drawn together, he slashed downward. An earth-shattering killing intent erupted, the razor-sharp aura wreaking havoc. A sky-piercing platinum sword light swept forth—thick as a flood dragon, indestructible, and tearing through space.
With just a casual move, he fused Spatial Cutting magic, the Metal Element's Tribulation Aura, and even the Summoning Element's Borrowed Thunder Arm—its power unmatched in ancient or modern times.
Zzzzt! The seaweed-like devil reacted swiftly, narrowly dodging the strike. Yet even grazing the edge of the blade's aura, several of its tentacles were sliced clean off. Blood gushed, the cross-sections perfectly smooth.
Immediately after, the immense platinum sword light didn't stop slamming down upon the ocean floor. A deafening boom echoed as it cleaved open a deep, continuous trench several kilometers long.
All sea demons along its path were eradicated. The seawater split into a narrow vacuum corridor.
The Sea Demon God Clan fell in agony, its expression panicked as it looked toward Lu Jun. Its specialty was in the Psychic Element, capable of mildly controlling Commander-level creatures, yet it had absolutely no effect on this man.
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
Lu Jun's demon energy burned rapidly, and the rare, crystal-clear Elemental Diamond in his arms visibly dimmed before the naked eye.
There was no time to waste. He raised his palm toward the Sea Demon God Clan below and clenched it tightly. The Tai'a Divine Sword between his brows soared skyward, and the White Tiger pendant around his neck radiated light.
Suddenly, the seabed beneath this region trembled. A grand and majestic platinum magic formation surfaced. The seawater grew heavy, laced with a unique scent of rust.
Taibai Divine Treasury: Sky-Piercing Sword Formation.
The seabed shook violently, platinum brilliance blazing as countless rifts tore open. One by one, long metallic swords burst forth from the depths—endless, tightly packed, in all shapes and sizes—forming a rainforest of swords and mountains of metal.
Indeed, the seabed was the closest layer to the mantle. Lu Jun, exerting all his power, drew forth all the metallic material from the crust.
As Lu Jun floated high above, he lifted his hand ever so slightly.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
Instantly, the sword rainforest shot skyward, boundless and overwhelming, slicing through the water and stirring up powerful ripples and towering waves.
All sea demons within the Taibai Domain had long been paralyzed by the magnetic field, unable to move, forced to endure a baptism of a thousand swords piercing their hearts.
Splurt! Splurt!
In the mid-sea depths, one ghastly bloom of blood after another exploded. The pitch-black sword lights pierced the water's surface, soaring upward in a mighty surge.
Roar! That Sea Demon God Clan bore the brunt of the slaughter. Its once-massive body was riddled like a wasp's nest—hideous, and slain on the spot.
A Commander-level demon in the Advancement Phase had fallen—just like that!
Lu Jun took a deep breath. The White Tiger features on his body gradually receded as he surveyed the devastated scene.
The Sea of Mermaids had been dyed crimson. In the deep ocean rift and trench, corpses floated and sank, scattered throughout various depths of the seabed.
The remaining sea demons fled dejectedly, unlikely to return for some time. As for the mermaid race, they were almost entirely annihilated. The few survivors sobbed in sorrow, unable to understand why the king they had defended… had abandoned them.
