Chapter 3 - Be Careful What You Wish For:

The old tea pot lay abandoned in a box of old donations at the front of the store. The box carried a sign on its face: 'Take only what you need, leave something in return if you can'

Paserbys glanced at the box as they went about their business. Fee deposited items and went on their way.

Until one man. A gentleman in his thirties, Noah did not look like he was down on his luck. In fact he looked downright comfortable: He wore a pressed suit, an expensive looking watch on his right hand. Without hesitation, Noah took the old teapot from the pile and looking over his shoulder to make sure he wasn't being watched, quickly stalked off with his prize.

Noah intended to save money instead of purchasing a new teapot or else sell the old one he taken online. It was when he finally returned home that he began cleaning it. Old rust stains marred the face, prompting the man to take a sponge to the old piece of metal. It wasn't long before it began to feel hot, very hot. Noah almost dropped the item from suprise and the heat but he stubbornly held on. It wasn't long before the pain was too much to bare. He wad about to drop the item when there was the most imposing man he'd ever seen. The man-no- the genie stroked his beard thoughtfully.

"What is your first wish?"

"What?" The young salesman squawked haplessly.

"I am a genie, you rubbed the teapot. You get three wishes." His tone was neutral, but there was a hint of distain.

Noah waisted no time. "Alright then, I wish for power." He demanded smugly. The genie nodded. Suddenly all the appliances in the home began working on overdrive. Lightbulbs flickered on, increased in intensity and burst, the sound of exploding glass was like fireworks set off far too close for comfort. Noah screamed and ducked for cover, the little shards of goass were sprinkled on his suit like confetti. The ice machine roared to life, chunks of ice cubes began to shower down on the tile floor with alarming force. The fridge began to freeze over. The tv flickered to life, its brightness rivaling the sun, the volume turned up so loud that it could probably be heard down the block.

"Okay, stop!" Noah cried desperate to be heard.

The disaster immediately stopped.

"That was your second wish." The genie informed the man smoothly.

"What the hell was that?" Noah screamed. The genie shrugged, a satisfied glint in his eyes.

"They were your wishes," the being replied nonchalantly. "You should have been more specific." Noah's eye twiched. He wanted to scream, to demand more wishes, to undo his last two wishes buut he knew it didn't work that way. "So you have one last wish. What will it be?"

" Just put everything back the way it was before."
