Chapter 34 - Chapter 2.2

Cheng Xizhi had been pampered by the Cheng Family since childhood. How could she endure such humiliation? She made a scene right then and there, then returned home to tell her family everything.

Cheng Zhensheng and his wife were furious. Not only did they drive Cheng Yiru out of the Cheng Family, they also divorced their daughter from Yuan Hang and cut off all business dealings with Yuanshi Corporation. After being expelled, Cheng Yiru's situation became miserable. She had long grown accustomed to the Cheng Family's luxurious lifestyle; now, living frugally was nearly impossible. The money she earned was nowhere near enough to sustain her needs.

In addition, Yuan Hang was closely monitored by the Yuan Family and was forbidden from contacting Cheng Yiru. In the end, Cheng Yiru had no choice but to enter shady circles to survive. Eventually, she contracted an illness and died a wretched death. When she opened her eyes again, she found herself back at 18 years old.

The reborn Cheng Yiru harbored deep resentment toward Cheng Xizhi and the Cheng Family. She planned to win over Yuan Hang. The young, inexperienced Yuan Hang from her previous life couldn't resist her charms. Soon, he was completely under Cheng Yiru's control.

Cheng Yiru secretly spoke ill of the Cheng Family to Yuan Hang, causing him to grow increasingly disgusted with Chengshi Corporation—especially with Cheng Xizhi. He even resorted to underhanded tactics to sabotage one of Chengshi Corporation's major projects, leading to the Cheng Family's bankruptcy. Cheng Zhensheng and his wife died in a plane crash while heading overseas for business talks. The eldest brother, drunk in a bar, got caught in a conflict and was fatally injured. The second brother, devoted entirely to art, was framed for plagiarism; unable to withstand the overwhelming public criticism, he committed suicide.

Cheng Xizhi, once a sheltered young lady, suddenly found herself burdened with enormous debt and forced to work to repay it. Yet Cheng Yiru still wasn't satisfied—she even hired a thug to insult and torment her. Ultimately, unable to bear the humiliation, Cheng Xizhi took her own life.

Afterward, Cheng Yiru and Yuan Hang married with everyone's blessings.

Gu Shengyin entered Cheng Xizhi's body to reverse the damage Cheng Yiru's rebirth had caused.

After the original Cheng Xizhi divorced Yuan Hang, she remained the beloved young lady of the Cheng Family.

After receiving the story from the system, Gu Shengyin held nothing but disdain for Cheng Yiru.

The Cheng Family had never mistreated Cheng Yiru. Her food, clothing, housing, and daily life were the same as Cheng Xizhi's. And what did Cheng Yiru do? Not only did she use her appearance to seduce her younger sister's husband, but everything that followed was brought upon herself. After being reborn, she filled her heart with hatred toward the Cheng Family, destroying them one by one and driving them to their deaths.

Gu Shengyin's task was to protect the Cheng Family, expose Cheng Yiru's true nature, and crush Yuan Hang, the man who betrayed Cheng Xizhi.

Cheng Boxuan drove back to the Cheng Family's main residence with his younger sister.

"The young lady has returned," the steward at the gate said the moment he spotted Cheng Boxuan's car.

Gu Shengyin stepped out of the vehicle and was immediately wrapped in a warm embrace.

"My precious Xixi, I haven't seen you in a year and you've become even more beautiful." The lady examined her closely and added, "It seems like you've lost some weight."

"Now that you're back and won't be leaving again, Mom will make soup for you every day. I'll make sure my baby Xixi becomes fair and plump again!"

Gu Shengyin looked at the lady, unsure whether to laugh or cry. This was Cheng Xizhi's mother—Mother Cheng, Bai Fei. She was nearly fifty years old, but she was well-maintained and elegant.

"Mom, you're going to raise me into a pig." Gu Shengyin made a pitiful face, prompting everyone around them to laugh.

"Dad." Gu Shengyin looked toward the man standing beside her mother—her father, Cheng Zhensheng.

After learning the storyline, Gu Shengyin understood how deeply he loved his daughter. His affection was no less than his wife's, but as a man, he expressed it in a more reserved way.

She stepped forward and gently hugged her father.

"Daddy, I missed you so much!"
