Chapter 44 - False concern

Nobita raised his borrowed fist and knocked three times, hard and loud the way Gian always did.

A few seconds later, light footsteps approached. The door slid open.

Shizuka stood there in a soft yellow dress, looking surprised. "Gian? What are you doing here?"

Nobita forced Gian's usual rough expression onto the face he was wearing. Inside, his real thoughts were already racing. The floating numbers above Shizuka's head appeared instantly:

Shizuka → [Masturbation: 12 | Intercourse: 1]

Only one. That single mark still belonged to him from weeks ago. The memory made his cock twitch inside Gian's pants.

"I came to talk to your mom," Nobita said in Gian's deep voice. "It's important."

Shizuka blinked. "My mom? Is something wrong?"

Before she could ask more, Mrs. Minamoto appeared behind her daughter, wiping her hands on a kitchen towel. She was still in her apron, hair slightly messy from cooking. When she saw "Gian," she smiled politely.

"Oh, Takeshi-kun. What brings you here?"

The numbers above her head lit up for Nobita alone:

Mrs. Minamoto → [Masturbation: 41 | Intercourse: 87]

Eighty-seven. Not as high as Mrs. Honekawa, but still a solid number. Nobita's pulse quickened. This was the real target.

"I need to talk to you about something private," he said, trying to sound serious. "Can I come in?"

Mrs. Minamoto hesitated for only a second, then stepped aside. "Of course. Shizuka, go finish your homework upstairs, alright?"

Shizuka looked between them, a little confused, but nodded. "Okay… Don't take too long, Gian."

She disappeared up the stairs.

The moment she was gone, Nobita stepped inside and closed the door behind him. Mrs. Minamoto turned toward the living room, completely unaware that the boy standing in her hallway was not her daughter's loud friend at all.

Nobita's eyes drifted down her body for a second — the soft curves under the apron, the way her hips moved when she walked. His mind was already calculating how to use Gian's face to his advantage.

Mrs. Minamoto gestured toward the couch. "Would you like some tea? You look a little… intense today."

Nobita sat down heavily, the way Gian always did, making the couch creak. He kept the rough expression on his face, but inside he was smiling.

"Yeah. Tea's fine."

As she turned toward the kitchen, Nobita's hand slowly slid into his pocket, fingers brushing against the Forgotten Stick. Three uses left. He didn't need it yet… but it was there if things got complicated.

Mrs. Minamoto returned with a tray and sat across from him. "So, what did you want to talk about, Takeshi-kun?"

Nobita leaned forward, elbows on his knees, staring at her with Gian's eyes.

Mrs. Minamoto sat across from him with a polite smile, waiting. Nobita kept Gian's rough face carefully controlled, then slowly leaned forward and lowered his voice as if he were sharing something serious.

"It's about Shizuka," he began. "She's been acting strange at school lately."

Mrs. Minamoto's smile faded a little. "Strange? How do you mean?"

Nobita shook his head, putting on a heavy, concerned expression. "She doesn't study anymore. Instead of looking at the board or doing her work, she's always gossiping with the other girls. Whispering, laughing, wasting time. Teachers have started noticing too."

Mrs. Minamoto frowned. "That doesn't sound like my Shizuka at all. She's always been a diligent girl."

"I knew you wouldn't believe me," Nobita said quickly, raising Gian's thick hands in a defensive gesture. "That's why I came here myself. I thought… maybe you already noticed something."

He looked her straight in the eyes.

"Have you seen it? The way she stares off into space sometimes? Like she's daydreaming in the middle of a conversation? She does it at school a lot. Her eyes go empty, and she doesn't even hear when people call her name."

Mrs. Minamoto's expression grew more uncertain. She glanced toward the stairs for a moment, as if trying to recall her daughter's recent behavior.

Nobita pressed on, voice growing thicker with fake emotion.

"I'm not trying to cause trouble. I just… I only want what's good for her."

He raised one hand and wiped the corner of his eye with the back of his finger, smearing away a carefully forced tear. The gesture looked clumsy and sincere at the same time — exactly the kind of awkward emotional display the real Gian would make if he ever tried to care about something.

Mrs. Minamoto's face softened.

"Takeshi-kun… you really came all the way here just to tell me this?"

Nobita nodded heavily. "Yeah. I didn't know who else to talk to. If she keeps going like this, her grades are going to drop. I don't want that for her."

Inside, his real thoughts were cold and amused. Every word was pure bullshit. Shizuka studied fine. She barely gossiped. The "daydreaming" was something he had completely invented. But the more worried he made Mrs. Minamoto, the easier it would be to stay in the house longer… and the easier it would be to turn the conversation toward more private matters.

Mrs. Minamoto sighed and looked down at her hands.

"I… I have noticed her spacing out a few times this week," she admitted quietly. "I thought she was just tired. Maybe you're right. Maybe I need to talk to her more carefully."

Nobita leaned back on the couch, still wearing Gian's face, and let a small, satisfied breath leave his chest.

The lie was working.

Mrs. Minamoto looked up at him again, her expression now full of genuine maternal concern.

"Thank you for telling me, Takeshi-kun. Really. It means a lot that you care about Shizuka this much."

Nobita gave a rough nod, the same way Gian would, while his eyes briefly drifted over the soft line of her neck and the way her apron hugged her waist.

"Yeah," he said. "I care."

In his pocket, his fingers brushed against the Forgotten Stick once more.

Three uses left.

And the real conversation had only just begun.
