The Holy Light Sect believer raised his head and looked toward the land swallowed by corruption; what lay there was literally a scene straight out of Purgatory.
But as long as this endlessly stretching Fire Wall stood beside him, there was absolutely no need to worry about the corruption spilling over. All he had to do was honestly keep feeding fuel into the Fire Wall and he could sleep soundly.
Thinking of it that way, he suddenly felt that, as he checked the Fire Wall for damage, he was basically a Savior. His work seemed to have some meaning now.
What the believer failed to notice was—
On the bricks at the root of the Fire Wall he trusted to perfectly block the spread of corruption, tiny white fungi had already piled up at that very moment.
After finishing his patrol of the section he was responsible for, and finding no damage, the Holy Light Sect believer immediately planned to go back to camp and keep sleeping.
