The Abyss can twist people's minds.
So when Chrono was immersed in it, his spirit, already battered and confused by the Fran Undead Team, was completely unguarded, instantly occupied by the chaos and madness brought by the Abyss.
At this moment, for him, the time to devour the feast had arrived. His eyes mistook the Abyss for blood, and his purpose of swallowing was to absorb the blood to recover from injuries and restore physical strength.
But when the first mouthful of the Abyss went down his throat, his subsequent actions were no longer under his control.
The Abyss, having reached a zero distance contact with Chrono, successfully twisted his mind, altering the thought of "absorbing blood to restore physical strength" into "throwing oneself into the Abyss for power"!
More critically, the Abyss made Chrono believe that this idea came from his own will, without the interference of a third party.
"Glug... Glug... Ah!"
