Seviss opened her arms and gave her a big hug. She kissed her old friend's cheek, her tone no different than before.
"Bai Aoli, you idiot, you caused such a big mess, I'm going to pinch your butt hard."
"Hey, you!" Bai Aoli exclaimed, Seviss gave her another squeeze, released the hug, and pressed her shoulders.
"Back then, I didn't mean to hurt you, you know I have memory issues." Seviss said softly, "Forgive me, will you?"
Bai Aoli raised her hand, for a moment she felt impulsive, wanting to slap Seviss to tell this silly Ranger how much those words back then—my friend is not old—truly hurt. But as she listened to the sincere voice, the long-standing resentment and turmoil in her heart suddenly scattered, like pollen drifting away. She realized that she absolutely didn't want to hurt the other person, she rested her head on Seviss's shoulder, and softly sobbed.
"You annoying creature, what else can I do? You are my best friend."
