"Still no news?"
Blinstone sat behind his desk, smoking, the ashtray on his desk piling up with cigarette butts.
Almost two hours had passed, whether they succeeded or not, they should have sent back some news.
But so far, there had been no sound at all.
"No, the phone hasn't rung once. Also, boss, there seem to be some people around the nightclub."
Blinstone was momentarily stunned by this statement, but then a sense of alarm innate to living beings immediately tensed him up. He stood up and walked over to the window to look outside.
The lights of the nightclub illuminated the streets for a short distance, but the farther streets were still shrouded in darkness.
He wasn't sure if it was an illusion, but he thought he saw fleeting figures at the entrance of some alleys!
They were being watched!
Damn it!
He started to get nervous; sweat formed in his palms, and he realized that something might have gone wrong with the people who had gone out.
