Anning brought half a cart of belongings to the Wen Family.
Scholar Wen was quite pleased, but Mrs. Yu's face was downcast. Upon hearing that Anning would be staying at home for a few days, her expression became even uglier.
Anning deliberately said, "Father, look, isn't mother thrilled? She must have missed me a lot. Since that's the case, I'll stay at home for a longer period."
Mrs. Yu could only force a smile and hurried to tidy up the room for Anning.
At first, Anning spoke a few words with Mrs. Yu's daughter, her own sister Anjing, and then went to see her little brother Ankang, who was only four or five years old.
Although Mrs. Yu's attitude towards Anning was dismissive, she didn't interfere much with Anning's interactions with Anjing and Ankang.
She didn't teach the children to dislike Anning either.
Just that was enough for Anning to tolerate Mrs. Yu.
After staying at her parental home for two days, Anning went to Scholar Wen's study to discuss matters.
