In the outskirts of the underground federal installation, several children wandered through the dark forest shaded by the night sky. They wore white robes, bodies filled with scars of experimentation.
All of them had lost hope after being tortured for years within the fluorescent lights of the facility. But out of nowhere, they were freed from their shackles.
No soldiers or scientists stopped them when they walked out of the facility. There was nothing but destruction in the midst of those dreaded hallways.
Before them was a shadow, a silhouette that made them freeze. It reminded them of a familiar tenderness, warmth that felt coarse in their pale skin.
"I am glad that all of you managed to escape that horrible place." A gentle voice echoed from the darkness as a jet-black haired woman emerged from the shade.
Her amethyst-like irises gleamed like gemstones, mesmerizing some of the children in the group. However, none stepped forward.
