Chapter 473 - Interesting Topic III

(Third Person POV)

"So Aegon didn't love you like he loved Rhaenys." Riktor stepped forward, "And he still gave you a child."

She looked at him, "He did it because I was his Queen. And he thought it was his duty." She said, "It was very obvious to me and to everyone that he did it out of duty. Rhaenys and I were already his wives when he united Westeros."

"It wasn't just him." Riktor said, "It was all three of you. Yes, Balerion was a big reason for it...that guy was the strongest being in the world at the time but there were two other dragons."

"Yea, well.....what's done is done." She said softly

"Hm." Riktor said, "Well, that's not fair to you, is it?"

She looked to the side, "It doesn't matter now, does it?" She said softly, "My family is gone. Aegon, Rhaenys..."

"You still have your son." He told her

"Yes, but he is but a stranger to me." She said softly, "That is the harsh truth. To him, I am his Mother. I am the woman who supported him no matter what, the one who would kill for him. But to me, Maegor.....at least the Maegor I remember is but a babe.....and this Maegor....I know nearly nothing about him. The only thing I know is that he, too, was dead for a long time and we were both brought back."

"Hm." Riktor stepped closer, "Man, it must be rough. I really don't get my Father, he is quite strange sometimes."

"So you say." Visenya said

He looked at her, "Well...." He said, "One thing is for sure; he is powerful. And he could do anything to anyone should he desire. That is what makes him terrifying and why many in the Realm fear him."

"That is what I understand." She said as she looked down, "But alas, I am helpless to do what he bids."

"You're lucky he hasn't done much to you." Riktor said

"I was just resurrected to reward Maegor. It appears that he wanted his mother." Visenya said, "He is gentle and kind to me. It's almost like he wanted to be a son...he wanted us to be a family. But I cannot...."

"You need to be more." Riktor said, "It's that instinct that is instilled in you."

"You can say that." Visenya said as she stood up, "If you excuse me.....I must take my leave."

She took a step forward, but Riktor grabbed her by the arm.

"Wait." He said seriously

She looked at his hand, "What is it?" She said with a frown, "Did I do something wrong?"

"I was serious when I said that I would want to spar with you. At least once." Riktor told me

"I stand no chance against you." Visenya gently pried free, "There is no point."

"Well, even so." Riktor smiled, "I would still like to spar with you."

"I'll go easy on you."

Maekar sat in front of Drakken, a cyvasse board on the table in front of them, "Hmm...." He said with absolute focus, "Hm....."

Drakken boringly looked at him, "What is it?" He asked, "You haven't made your next move and it's been three minutes."

"Cyvasse is tough." Maekar said

"You're the one who wanted to play." Drakken told him, "So go on."

Mya walked inside the room, watching this happen. Maekar was staring at the pieces, a serious look on his face.

"Oh, look at this." She reached Maekar and leaned down, kissing his head, "My beautiful boy...."

"I'm focusing." Maekar said

"Make your move already." Drakken said with an annoyed tone

Maekar moved a piece and Drakken immediately responded, taking out one of Maekar's pieces.

"Ugh...." Maekar groaned, "This is rough....."

Mya rubbed his hair, "You can do it...."

"Is there something else you wanted to do apart from coddling this one?" Drakken asked as he leaned on his arm, "Hm?"

"Riktor." She said, "I haven't had any issues with him lately."

"That's right." Drakken said, "What of it?"

"But he's been leaving the castle lately." She said

"And...?" Drakken asked

"He just trains in the woods." Mya said, "That is all. I guess all of that.....inaction...gives him.....well, pressure."

"Hm." Drakken told her as Maekar moved another piece, "Well, not much we can do. So long as he behaves."

He moved another piece and took one of Maekar's, causing the boy to scowl.

"Ah!" Maekar said, "What?!"

Mya chuckled, "You can do it, love." She said, "Are you worried about what Sylas will do with his lost toy?"

"No." Drakken looked at Maekar who was focused even more, "Why?"

"He seems to be quite worried." Mya told him, "Very much so."

"That is not my problem." Drakken told her, "He took it there and he lost it. I shouldn't care what he does about it. He needs to learn to be more careful. If he one day creates an even more terrifying weapon and he gets it stolen, what then? He should learn from his mistakes."

"That's a good point." she said as she placed her hand on Maekar's shoulder, "But still.....you should give him guidance."

"He wanted to destroy the ship along with the weapon." I said, "He can do that if he wants. It's his choice, I already told him."

"He's hesitating." Mya said

"He's young. He's going to hesitate." Drakken responded

"It's not good." Mya said, "He should act properly."

"You're right." Drakken said as Maekar finally made a move, "But he won't. Not yet."

Drakken responded and made the final move, beating Maekar.

"Ahh!!" Maekar shouted, "What?!"

"My love, calm down." Mya said

Maekar got out of the chair, "It is unacceptable." He said as he stomped away, "I am a failure."

Drakken watched him leave the room and merely chuckled, "This one is impatient." He said, "He's the one who needs guidance. Sylas and Riktor will be fine. As long as Riktor ceases his activities, everything will be fine. As for Sylas....."

"I am worried that some mistakes he'd do.....it will change him." Mya said, "My Lord...."

"Like I said, he needs to learn. And for better for for worse....." Drakken said,

"He will learn from his mistakes."
