(Drakken's POV)
[A Year Later]
"My Lord, look!" Maegelle said joyfully, "Lord Sylas has taken his first steps!"
I was standing next to the door, leaning on the wall as there were gasps of joy and surprise. I glanced over to see Daranne kneeling on the floor as she watched Sylas standing upright and wobbling, taking his first steps. Mya and Riktor stood next to Daranne, excitedly watching this unfold as Maegelle stood a couple of feet away from Sylas, her back turned to me.
I looked at my son, who was staring at Maegelle while she smiled warmly at him, he had a serious yet soft look on his face as he slowly walked over.
"Go on, my love." Daranne said encouragingly, "Walk over to Maegelle..."
"You can do it, brother!" Riktor said with a smile
"He's grown so much." Mya said with a smile
All of them seemed to be so happy at this unfolding but I could not help but look at my son, feeling nothing but apathy at this. So what if he has taken his first steps? It is natural for my son to do this after a single year. It is natural for my son to be able to grow healthily and strong in a wretched world like this.
All of this should not be a surprise since it is my blood that runs through his veins.
Yet, they all treat something so mundane as a huge deal, worthy of celebration. I could never understand humans and this.
My first steps? I do not remember them I-
I got a flash of a memory; standing in the mud as rain covered me when I was a child. It was brief, but enough to send a chill down my spine. I could not help but be unsettled by this, the overwhelming feeling of anger began to fill my body.
"Tch...." I said as I looked away
"Go on, Lord Sylas." Maegelle said, "Come to my arms....."
I glanced over to see Sylas reaching Maegelle, having walked around five feet in total, causing the others to cheer and clap.
Five feet. He walked five steps? That is it? Of course he would do that! He is my son! He can walk twenty feet without falling, he is my son!
I could not help but stare at Maegelle from behind, seeing how she laughed and held my son. She looked so beautiful, even from behind. I could not help but find her body alluring, so desirable, and tempting.
But I resisted.
I had no choice.
I wanted her.
I only wanted her.
"Lord Drakken, is it not wonderful?" She said as she looked at me, "Your son has finally taken his steps."
I did not say anything, merely looked at Sylas who stared at me.
"The boy is growing quickly, is he not?" Mya said, "Reminds me of how Riktor quickly grew."
"Me?" Riktor asked
"Yes, my love." Mya said
I then watched as Sylas squirmed from Maegelle's arms and began to slowly walk towards me.
"Lord Sylas?" Maegelle said with surprise
"He wishes to walk towards his Father." Daranna chuckled with joy
I simply stood there, watching as Sylas slowly wobbled over towards me, his face full of determination and conviction. It was almost terrifying, the look in the child's eyes.
He reached me and grabbed my pants as I looked down at him, his eyes looking directly up at me.
"Da!" He said simply
I raised an eyebrow, "What is it?"
"He wishes for you to hold him." Maegelle said as she walked over, "Would you not do that?"
"Hm." I said, "The son of Drakken does not need something as useless as affection."
"It would be nice if you could show him, regardless." She said with a smile
"Da!" Sylas said again
"How long until you develop your speech as Riktor did?" I said as I leaned down and picked him up, "Hm, Sylas?"
I held him with both of my hands as he looked at me with a serious look in his eyes. He extended his arms towards me, as if wanting to touch my face.
I pulled him closer and he began to pull on my hair without so much as reacting.
"You little..." I said, "What do you get from doing this?"
"My Lord...." Daranne said as she reached me, hugging my arm, "Look at our precious boy. Isn't he beautiful? Isn't he perfect?"
"Hm, adequate." I said, "I expect great things from you, Sylas."
He pulled on my hair harder, "Da!" He said
I scowled, "Quit pulling my hair."
"He is your son." Daranne said, "He deserves to be given leniency for pulling on the hair of a god."
"Hm." I said as I handed him to her, "If you say so. I am tired, I am taking myself to bed."
"You can enjoy yourselves further."
****************
"I crave violence." I said as I laid in bed, "Now, Mya."
I glanced over to see her combing her hair as she stood in front of a mirror, her body bare and naked. She was beautiful as always, not an ounce of aging showing due to my magic keeping her in that state.
"Hm...." She said, "What do you have in mind?"
"I do not know." I said, "I would like to return Oren Martell to Dorne, have him angrily rally up more troops and give me an incentive to invade Dorne again."
"That is quite the scheme." She chuckled as she set the comb down and walked over to the bed, "I approve, we should go and kill some dornish."
She crawled into bed with me and I wrapped my arm around her, "Yes." i said, "Or perhaps we should delve into the North? I have not personally visited Winterfell nor the Wall."
"Oh?" She said, "That is an interesting idea. I have heard reports of many Northmen being recruited into the Duskguard. Perhaps we take them along with us, they are used to the cold."
"As am I." I said, "I just want to destroy something.....anything.....to plunge an area into chaos.....to start a war.....I should not have promised ten years of peace....I regret that."
"Well, that was your choice, My Lord." She said as she rubbed her hand on my chest, "Should I speak my mind?"
"As you wish." I told her
"You should do anything you want, without concern." she told me, "I fell in love with the God of War, unencumbered by the shackles of humanity. While I enjoy this Drakken, this version of you.....I know of the greatness your true nature holds...."
"If it were not for this version, you would not know the comforts of my affection." I told her, "You know that, right?"
"That is true." She said with a smile
I ran my hand through her hair, "It pains me." I told her, "Mya...."
"What does, My Lord?" She said
"I want her." I said
"Then take her." She told me
"I cannot...." I said
"Why not?" She asked
"I do not know." I told her
"Something is holding you back." She said, "Something from your old world. And I understand..."
I peered into her black and beautiful eyes, she was so divine, this woman...
"I should have married you instead." I said softly, "I should have had you give me my army of children....just as you desire....."
She smiled, "That would have been lovely." She said, "But you have made up your mind. Maegelle is to bear you a child....."
"Sooner or later, it will happen."
