On Platform Four, Lin Fu flexed her limbs. The wounds on her body healed visibly fast, yet the sensation of pain still reached the tips of her nerves. It was an odd feeling—she knew her body was unharmed, and any damage she sustained was from within the simulated environment, but the pain was real.
The injuries in the simulation had healed, but the pain lingered.
Her slightly furrowed brow caught the attention of a student from the First Military Command College who had just entered the stage, who asked with curiosity, "Are you not accustomed to getting hurt in the virtual environment?"
"This is the second time."
Lin Fu nodded earnestly in response, "I feel it's a bit strange. I always feel like I'm deceiving myself but also that I'm not, because it wasn't there to begin with."
"You've got me all tangled up," Ji Xiu admitted.
