A few minutes after my decision to let him ride with me, I was already regretting it.
I kept both hands on the wheel, one eye on the road and one eye on him.
What the hell had I been thinking?
Letting a total stranger into my car? I did not know him.
I did not even know of him.
For all I knew, this could be a scam… a setup and a carefully staged performance. Put a man in the right clothes, saying the right words, waiting for the right moment to get to us… to Enrique.

My stomach turned.
And now I was leading him straight to the hospital and straight to Enrique.
If this was a trap, I had just walked him to the front door.
My grip tightened on the wheel. I could feel my heart racing again, the edges of another panic attack building.
