Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: His advantage

While at the company, everyone respected the young master and he rarely had close conversations with anyone. Actually, a few had a chance to talk to him in the company and these were specific secretaries and his childhood friend, Taylor. Compared to Belvin, Taylor was carefree and more friendly to the employees in the company. He always had conversations with them and at times sponsored them to meals. What could they say, he was just a cool, rich, happy guy that everyone liked. He was the Head of Management in the company and second to Belvin, who was the CEO.

" Belvin, bro... you've been working since.."

" Since.....?" Belvin interrupted.

" AHH...since morning" he laughed, scratching his head.

" Is there anything I can help you with?" Belvin asked, looking rather irritated.

" Nanny Elizabeth says I should take you out for lunch!" Taylor responded. Belvin looked at him for a while then stood from his seat.

" Am busy"

" Oh come on, it's lunchtime. What do you mean you're busy?" Taylor protested.

" Are you being serious with this right now?" Belvin asked, his tone changing. Taylor took out his phone and showed it to him.

" There.... that's the call from Nanny. She requested me to take you out for lunch...she said do it for her!"

" Huhhhh! Fine. Hope it's just lunch though. You know a lot of things have to be taken care of in this place!" Belvin spoke, taking off his coat and resting it on his chair.

" Of course. Besides, am here bro.... you'll not be working alone" Taylor smiled.

" Okay okay.... quit mumbling around and let's go!". The two friends walked out of the office majestically and into the elevator. There was a little bit of silence and for some reason, Taylor looked nervous, as though he had something to say to his boss.

" Spit it out!" Belvin commanded without looking at him.

" Ahmm...just something to tell you...Miss Jane wanted to see you" he informed

" She knows where to find me Taylor" he responded coldly.

" Well....she wants to see you..like.... privately"

" When did she tell you this?"

" This morning. She was actually here before you came!" he reported. The elevator stopped and they walked out. They both signed out with the receptionist and walked out of the company building. There was a car across the street that Taylor had planned they would use. They crossed the road gently and got into the car.

" So.....what are you going to do about it?" Taylor asked. Belvin thought for a moment then spoke up.

" Invite her for lunch!"

" Like...to have lunch with us?"

" Yeah"

" Okay bro!" Taylor answered happily, then immediately took out his phone and made the call. The car then set off to the hotel. As they sat at their table and enjoyed their meal, a beautiful young lady walked in and went to the reception. The receptionist pointed at the table at which Taylor and Belvin were seated. When she turned to look, Taylor waved at her and gestured her to go over. She went over to them and Belvin immediately made an unusual move. He stood up and gently pulled out a seat for her. This left Taylor speechless, as he looked at the both of them.

" Thank you" she appreciated with a smile as she sat. Belvin went back to his seat.

" So.....Miss Jane Carter....a good afternoon to you." Taylor greeted with a smile.

" How are you guys doing?" Jane responded, placing her phone on the table.

" We're good, as per the part of the day!" Taylor responded. She then looked at Belvin and smiled.

" Hey Belvin.. longtime"

" Hey...Jane. How have you been?" he responded with a smile.

" I've been good. That smile has been missed greatly" Jane complimented.

" Is that so..huh... guess I'll have to display it more often " he replied. He took in a light breath, looked at her then smiled again.

" I was informed you dropped by the Company this morning. Is something the matter?" he added.

" Oh..not really. I just wanted to see you" she answered.

" Well, if you always want to see the C.E.O, his office is always available, especially for you Miss Jane."

" Actually, I wasn't in need of the C.E.O!"

" Excuse me?"

" Yeah...I was in need of Belvin, my fiance. Not the C.E.O" Jane informed him, giving him a seductive look. Belvin looked at her, then laughed softly.

" Oh....am sorry I haven't given you enough time recently!" Belvin apologised.

" No it's okay....I know you're always busy. So I decided I should drop by today," Jane spoke.

" Okay...well....can I take you out for dinner tonight?" Belvin requested, letting out his hand to her. Jane felt rather excited because Belvin, her fiance, rarely acted so romantic with her at any occasion. Maybe he was planning something, but she didn't care. He had formally asked her out for dinner and she couldn't turn down the request.

" Yes....yes of course" she answered with a bright smile.
