"You're my husband," I straightened my spine and pushed back my shoulders hoping it gave me an air of confidence I did not particularly feel. "You wanted me to come home so I did."
He nodded and ran his hand down his face to quickly wipe away the wetness that had gathered around his eyes. "And you're staying?"
"For as long as you want me to make this marriage work," I shrugged.
He stared at me for minutes on end before he crossed the space between us and engulfed me in his arms. I didn't expect that nor did I expect him to kiss me but most of all I didn't expect myself to kiss him back with a familiarity that crashed into me so fast I didn't realize how much I missed it.
