Nala and I decided to leave Ty at the hotel while he looked online for more investment opportunities. It felt kind of weird to go out with anybody other than Ty but to my surprise Nala was a very fun person to hang out with. Her personality along with her Australian accent always kept me laughing. I never had many girlfriends; we were never very compatible. I can be a bit of tomboy, makeup and fashion were only necessary during missions in my opinion. Other than that my interests included sports, anime, and violence. Hard to find women like that around especially at Cambridge but Nala suit me just fine. She wasn't overly girly and a bit of a nerd like myself. When she saw a billboard for a new One Piece movie she almost lost her mind.
"I'm sorry for losing my cool just now, I'm just a huge manga fan. That's mainly the reason why I begged Ty to bring me alon' when I found out he was vacationin' here. I didn't know I would be intrudin' on a family trip though." She was a sweet girl after all, a very calm and bright soul. I can see why Ty liked her so much.
"No apology needed, it actually worked out for the best I think. I really wanted to meet the girl that made him smile every time he mentioned your name. I think having you here actually made my vacation a lot better than it could have been." She smiled at me and continued to walk with me, taking in Tokyo's sights. It was a very busy place; people were everywhere but something was off.
"CniDaria?" Nala had stopped with a worried look on her face. It took my attention away from my surroundings for a bit. "Do you ever get the feeling that Ty is keeping things from you? I mean it's not just the whole having a sister thing. It's more than that." She was smarter than she looked. Lying is an unnatural even for the most trained. She was close enough to him to say that much.
"Well, the thing is Nala…" My voice trailed off something wasn't right, there was too much space between us and the rest of the crowd. I saw the gleam of a scope from the corner of my eye. "GET DOWN!" A shot went off barely missing Nala and shattering the glass windows behind us. There was pandemonium. Most must have thought another terrorist attack had finally come to Tokyo, I knew better. This was an assassination attempt but the question was it for me or Nala? My activities shouldn't have been picked up by any world security. I know next to nothing about Nala though. I guess I'll have to worry about all that later and get her out of here. She was scared speechless, she was shaking with fear, she just looked at me with tears. "Come on I'm getting you out of here there's no way I'm letting anything happen to you." I gave her a reassuring smile and she returned it. We started running throughout the crowd holding hands and our heads down. There was so much panic and all directions that it was hard to navigate back to the hotel. I still had the feeling that something was off but what more could it be? We got all the way to the point where the hotel was just across the street but at that moment, I finally saw what was bothering me so much. We were surrounded by twelve people dressed in black suits and sunglasses. They blended into the crowd around us, but I knew we were their target.
"Nala I'm going to need you to go ahead into the hotel without me"
"Rack off! I'm not leaving you he-"
"JUST GO!" The anger and conviction in my voice got the point across to her crystal clear. She ran across the street and there was no movement from our guest. That confirms they really were after me. Once she was safe inside the hotel, they started to close in on me. One look from them I knew that they weren't just some thugs. They were very well trained and well built, at most I would be able to take out maybe four of them before I was worn down. Activating my real strength maybe I could take out twice as much as that. Could I do that much? That was me being optimistic. All I had was my favorite knife that was neatly hidden on the back of my thigh. Definitely not enough. I closed my eyes trying to come to peace with the life I lived… I couldn't, a tear fell down my cheek. There was so much left to be done, so much more I wanted to do. I feel like I wasted my life. I wish I could have fallen in love, saw the Great Wall, see all the suffering come to an end. I felt that they were all a few feet away from me now. I opened my eyes and put up my resolve to fight. I at least wanted to see my brother again and I wasn't going down without a fight. A strong pulse erupted from my being, and I felt every fiber of my muscles harden and expand.
They closed in on me but none of them made any aggressive or threatening movements. However, the air was thick with malice. They inched closer and closer until one of them finally got close enough to grab my arm. A second later there was a grunt of pain. I broke his wrist. Another had tried to grab me. A second later there was another grunt of pain. A sharp elbow to his abdomen and a quick jab to his face left him on his knees with a broken nose. At this point they started to look at each other. It must have been more than what they were expecting. It didn't seem like they were here to kill me but to capture me. They haven't made any lethal movements. I found myself thinking that maybe I should let them capture me so I could escape more easily later. However, once they realized they wouldn't overpower me and come out unscathed they reached in their jackets for weapons, which ended up being an assortment of knives and guns. I guess all the non-lethal movements would cease for now on. They started to move and surround me, pushing civilians out the way. Some realized what was going on and ran away, some pulled out their phones and started recording. I quickly pulled my hood over my head and shirt over my nose. Dead or alive I couldn't let my identity be exposed on a global scale. That will make it harder for Ty. My baby brother Thylonius. I relaxed my guard a bit thinking of how my death will affect my dear brother.
These thugs didn't let that moment of weakness be wasted; they pounced on me. One bull rushed me to try to tackle me into one of his friends where a knife was waiting to be punctured into my back. I broke free of his grip and parried his charge into the knife face first. I heard a click, and I dove to the side to dodge the gun fire. I wasn't able to get off scot-free, multiple bullets had grazed my shoulder and thigh. I didn't have time to think about the pain, they were converging on me. I got back up quickly I made a move towards one of them with a gun. He tried to shoot me point blank, but I dodged it causing him to kill one of his comrades. Eleven. He then swiped to hit me with the butt of his gun, I caught it, took it apart while it was still in his hand, and shoved a piece of it into his eye. Ten. Another came and grabbed me from behind, two more came towards me to cut me up. The movement of my arms was limited but I could still reach my life saver that was hidden on my thigh. I waited for them to come a bit closer and once they were in arm's length of me; I grabbed my knife, stabbed the one holding me down in the groin and jerked up the knife, severing multiple arteries. One quick swipe from my knife dropped both of the goons in front of me blood spraying on my clothes from their necks. Seven. At this point, there started to panic. Civilians realized that this wasn't a show, and they started to scream and scatter away. The extra distractions worked in my favor. I attacked another one of them and struggled to take his gun away from. I was getting tired, he put up a good fight until I made the gun go off, blowing his brains out from under his chin. Six. The one with the broken nose got knocked down again by the utter chaos of the public. I made sure to put one in his head. Five. Another came and rushed me, knocking me to the ground. He jumped on me and stabbed me in the shoulder. A jolt of pain ran through my body, but I had to keep focus. I kneed him in the groin to get his weight off of me and then two quick jabs to the head and jaw took him down. Dislodging his neck bones, killing him. Four. I'm still on the ground fatigued, breathing hard, trying to figure where the next attack was coming from. People were running all around me, I couldn't tell who was who. I tried to calm myself and get my senses back if they were going to hide, I might as well catch my breath. The smart thing to do would be to surround me. Keeping your distance away from me preferably, they still had fire arms I believed. I still had the one I stole as well though. They probably know that so they're probably closing in. I needed to move. As I try to get up, I feel a new sharp pain in my leg. Someone had thrown a knife right into it. They were trying to pin me down, I heard a click, I had to move. More gunshots were coming. I push past the pain, pulling the knife out as I get up and limp into the crowd as fast as I could. It was time for me to hunt. They had to be close. I circled my previous position and pinpointed three of them. I had to make this quick, I was losing too much blood for me to keep my energy up. Creeped up behind the first, snapped his neck. Three. Crept behind another but I think this time he felt my presence. He immediately turned around and engaged me. He was good and he started to overwhelm me. I was getting tired, my one hit kills weren't working anymore. His hand to hand prowess reminded me of Lucius, powerful and vicious. He got two great hits on me to my rib cage that almost made me crumble. I needed to use my speed. One quick kick to his knee, a hard jab to his throat and he starts to go down grasping his throat but before he hits the floor another knee to his chin takes him out. Two. I'm at my limit there isn't any more time to draw this out. I finally start to hear sirens, that would probably give them a minute to show up to the scene. I needed to get out of here. I didn't want to answer questions. Hopefully the sirens scared the rest of them off as well. I was wrong, as soon as I let my guard down, I was grabbed and a knife was put to my throat.
"Did you really think there wouldn't be any consequences? That we wouldn't find you? Your brother is next."
The mention of my little brother, infuriated me. How dare you threaten me? How dare you threaten my heart? There was a fire in my body that the blood loss had taken away. I bit the hand that was holding me and ripped a piece of flesh away. He screamed in pain and let go of his knife. I caught it and stabbed it into his chest. My anger wouldn't let me stop there, I stabbed in the throat, in the eyes, in his abdomen, a grand total of eighteen times. I finally stopped, huffed and puffed looking at his dismembered face.
"Kazi nzuri maua yangu moto[1]"
Lucius? No, the voice was much colder, much more sinister, and in a way much cooler. I've heard this voice before though. I can't remember where. Who was it? No one was around me, but the voice sounded so close. Either way it's done. One. Wait, one?
