Genesis gives Nova's powers back to Heysti so she can talk to him about his mission as a Nova Protector.
-...Why did you give them back to me?Heysti asks.
-To save the future!
-Now? What happened?
-...You were supposed to make Lee stop thinking about Kenzo! But you failed. Your new mission is to follow Lee until the enemy is brought down.
-But Doocutzuji is on DeadEarth! This is my chance to take him down!
-You're still not strong enough. Believe me—you'll be able to cut off his head, but have patience!
Heysti thinks to himself:
It's Genesis, she knows what will happen and what is happening!... so why shouldn't I follow her orders? She said I will catch Doocutzuji!
-So?Genesis asks.
-...Fine! Where is Lee now?
"I don't know, you're friends, you should know where she is...And Genesis disappears.
Heysti returns to his body and begins searching for Lee. But he doesn't succeed—until, at one moment, he sees Kenzo running with a lantern in his hand toward a spaceship perched on the top of a mountain, carrying the boy from the cave on his shoulder.
-H?!...KENZOOO!! Heysti yells, hoping Kenzo will hear him.
POV: Kenzo
-Huh?! Heysti!!... you'd better get out of there...And Kenzo keeps moving toward the ship.
POV: Heysti
You made your choice, Kenzo! I told you to leave the boy alone! Heysti tries to activate the Nova form on Kenzo, but fails.
!!!... That means Kenzo hasn't broken his promise...
Genesis quickly pulls him back to her and says, zFind Lee!and then releases him.
-Got it!Heysti moves into a part of the forest he hadn't searched yet.
-Where are you, Lee?! We can track Kenzo's ship and find Arcasas and Dooc!...!!!
Heysti freezes when he sees two red eyes slowly approaching him.
-What is that?! he wonders.
When the eyes reach the moonlight—moonlight that had only just risen—he sees a woman in a white hood, wearing a royal gray-and-gold dress, with black hair that is almost completely hidden.
-...Who are you?! Heysti shouts, because the woman is about sixteen meters away.
-...Pain... the woman says softly.
Heysti gets into a fighting stance, using his fox ears to listen for Lee's voice. Seven seconds after the woman speaks, a whimper is heard in the distance.
! Heysti slowly moves away from the woman, and once he's sure he's out of her range, he channels his power into his legs and leaps nineteen meters into the air.
No more sounds... I think that came from the east. So Heysti walks slowly toward the eastern side of the forest.
POV: The woman
-Hahahahaha... she laughs quietly. Pain!
The woman uses Rapunzel-like hair to pull in an unconscious Lee, muttering over and over:
-Mistake... mistake... mistake... and disappears into the darkness of night with Lee.
! -She's gone! I could have sworn I heard something!" Heysti says before landing on the ground. After looking around for about four seconds, Lee's voice cries out from the west side of the forest:
-Kenzoo...
Heysti runs south, thinking:
If I first heard her from the east and she's not there, that means someone's trying to tire me out, or make me think Lee's voice is just an illusion. If I go north, I can see if the enemy is waiting for me, and whether they try to change position. I need to keep my ears sharp—if they get close, I'll hear them. Could it be that woman from before? Pretty likely!... I'm almost there!
Heysti reaches a massive burnt tree, climbs it, and hides behind a branch.
Good hiding spot—she'll think I'm too stupid to hide somewhere obvious, so she won't find me.
The woman appears next to Heysti and slashes his right arm with her extremely long nails. She doesn't manage a second strike because Heysti noticed her before she could grab his hand. He stayed still to give her a false sense of confidence—then planned to crush her. The branch snaps, and they both fall.
-You're not just an enemy, Heysti says. -You're something special.
The woman says nothing, adjusting her posture mid-air to land faster. Heysti, arrogant as ever, lets her get ahead.
When he lands, she's gone.
-Hey! Where did you go?! You're making me change my opinion of you!
From the forest comes a loud scream—which Heysti considers a trick. Then someone emerges, wrapped in hair, standing right in front of him.
-...Are you that woman from earlier?
The hair falls away, revealing a weakened, unconscious Lee.
-!! Lee... Heysti runs to her, lifting her from the cold grass.
-Lee, what happened to you...?
-Golden... generation... Lee murmurs before passing out again.
Heysti carries her, rushing toward the cave, hoping to find medicine among the Kyrwa's belongings. But he can't remember the way.
!! I can't remember where it is!... I'll have to use Nova to heal her.
(Info for readers: Because Nova is a destructive power, if it's used to heal or revive someone, it stops functioning for days—or in worse cases, years. When Nova returns, it becomes unstable and hard to control. To heal someone, you must cover their eyes with anything available and wear no red clothing. This will be explained in more detail around chapter 30, but not word-for-word.)
Heysti lays Lee down in a vast field, removes his red cloak and hoodie, covers her eyes with the cloak, and presses his right hand to her chest.
-...Maybe I shouldn't have come to DeadEarth at all. Curse you, Kenzo.
Heysti continues the treatment, and after an hour, Lee opens her eyes.
-Hmm...
-...Lee, wake up! We have to go.
-Heysti?... She sees him putting his red hoodie back on and says,-....What have I done?
-...What!? Lee! How can you even think that?!
-I mean what happened to me, weirdo!!
-That's how you talk to me after I saved you?
-...You saved me?... You should've just let me die.
-Come on, let's find Arcasas and Dooc—that was our mission, right?
-Let's go!
As Lee takes her second step, the black-haired woman reappears and tries to attack her. Heysti shoves Lee aside, getting hit himself.
-...Pain... the woman says before stepping back, jotting something in a white notebook, and speaking: -Error E750!
Then she moves toward Lee and touches her too. Now neither Heysti nor Lee can move at all.
Both are teleported into Genesis.
-Heysti! Lee! How did you get in here?!Genesis asks. The two can't move a muscle, so they can't answer. The woman surprises Genesis and touches her too, trying to steal her power—but fails—and instead causes portals to open everywhere. The woman's skin is covered in purple veins. She tries to escape Genesis, but can't, and falls into a portal. Lee and Heysti are caught in another portal and vanish.
Lee lands in a universe where she falls onto a girl with white hair and red streaks, surrounded by several teenagers.
-What the...? Who the hell are you...? And get off me, you're crushing me!the girl says.
-Who are you all? And... where's Heysti?Lee asks, looking around.
