When the newly minted lieutenant entered the room - it felt as if all doubts had melted under the warmth emitted from the smile on his face. His sharp features smothered out from the fairly large square glasses that hid half his face behind their lenses. Shaggy brown hair framing all of that in a comfy fashion.
Despite his hair being far from perfectly maintained he still was properly dressed with his uniform being essentially flawless except a few splotches on his sleeves. Though that was likely due to him not actually realising they were there on his rush over. Being just out his own point of view.
"Sorry for having you all wait for me; I am still getting used to my new role."
His hand rubbing the back of his head as he bashfully announced to his "seniors" with a professional reserved nature that immediately caused one to have a positive feeling towards him.
Unohana simply smiled at the new second seat while silently studying the young shinigami who stood in the doorway of her office. On the surface he was perfect. Exactly the kind of person you would want in a powerful position; hardworking yet also understanding of those around him.
Sure enough Hiyori was having the same thoughts as she wondered if Cheshire could just have been a tad too worried about him. There was no way a nerd like this could have planned something treacherous like assassinating his senior officer. She wouldn't be surprised if a benign fool like this was the one who ended up getting himself stabbed in the back in the future.
However both turned to glance toward the cat who… Wasn't even looking at Sosuke Aizen. She merely graced him with a half hearted glance before returning her gaze to a seemingly random spot. Slowly moving her eyes as if following something but there was clearly nothing there when they looked.
Meanwhile Isane quickly moved in to comfort her fellow lieutenant.
"No, no, you are quite alright."
"Thank you for your understanding, lieutenant Isane."
Welcoming in the newcomer as she guided him towards a previously prepared seat - one that Shinji didn't get the opportunity to sit upon. Since nobody else stepped up to the field she prepared to retrieve the blood sample from him. At least until a certain cat stopped her from doing that.
A familiar cane shooting forth to stop the girl from grabbing the syringe; much to the confusion of everyone within the room including Sosuke Aizen himself.
"Stop."
"W-whats wrong Captain Cheshire?"
Her question was quite understandable while she physical froze up while that wooden cane pressed against her abdomen.
It was not just her stopping herself from grabbing the item. No, rather she froze up in fear as soon as that walking aide pressed against her stomach. For some reason a deep seated fear gripped her spine to prevent her chest from even moving too drastically.
She didn't even feel free toward Cheshire but specifically the cane that was held against her.
A fact that her own captain quickly noticed… Along with a certain other person within the room.
"Let's not waste our equipment like that."
That cat didn't address the abrupt fear that fell over the girl - she merely removed from holding the lieutenant back. Flipping it with an observable level of skill before slamming it into the floor. Using it to push herself off the chair she sat upon… In other words, she was using it for its intended purpose.
Though Unohana slightly opened her usually closed eyes to study the cat and specifically the seemingly innocent walking aide she always had with her. She knew that Cheshire had a sword when she initially arrived. However nobody knew if she had a bankai or even shikai.
Unohana had even caught some of her fellow shinigami suggesting that the crazy cat had tossed her zanpakuto in some weird experiment where it was destroyed.
Not as unbelievable as she would have liked.
Still there were others who refused to believe someone who could possess such an unbridled presence in their society could do so without so much as a first release.
Of course she personally did not have such doubts (her of all people recognised such gimmicks were not needed to become strong) yet even she couldn't help but have some curiosity. Though now a new idea came to mind when she remembered something they had all originally written off quite promptly. A random line that the response team had overheard during the fight against code-name "bastard".
"Yea the poor thing doesn't think she's worthy due to her ugly blade when sealed!"
It was a strange comment when one thinks about it - a strange line when they had always made hints towards her actually being able to communicate with her sword. Though it wasn't the first time that a sword spirit was eccentric. She would just chalk it down to it politely refusing to share its name..
Except…
"My unfortunate little Anakisuto Heiwa just needs a makeover, don't worry~!"
She apparently knew the name of her sword, Anarchist Peace, a strange paradoxical name that told them nothing about its possible abilities. But looking at the cane again? An unusual thought couldn't help but cement itself in the back of her mind however she'd keep it to herself for now.
Cheshire glanced at her fellow captain from the corner of her eyes - a shimmer of glee appeared in those crimson gaze while seeming quite pleased by the suspicion held against her.
Although she didn't remain on that.
"I would like to take a little private walk with our new 5th lieutenant."
So she announced without giving anyone much of a chance to refute her; waggling a finger to tell the newcomer to follow her as she marched out the room. For a moment Aizen Sosuke froze while looking somewhere only to quickly stand up to catch back up with her. The rest of the shinigami just let her kidnap him as they weren't about to stop the insane feline.
Soon lieutenant Aizen caught up to the aberrant captain who walked with the help of her cane - though only the newer members of the court guard believed she actually needed it. Then the cat released her own spiritual power. Quickly shaping it into a strange spell that the lieutenant didn't recognise.
"BC-A1m."
It was more akin to a random series of numbers and letters than a name for a kido. Not that it stopped her energy from weaving itself into some weird barrier that caused the world around them to become blurred yet none of those outside so much as looked. Instead they unconsciously appeared to avoid them as the world became monochrome & distorted.
Such an interesting technique quickly caught the attention of a certain shinigami due to its various potential uses. Nevertheless it brought a lot of confusion to the one who had just chased after her for their supposed private walk. Unconsciously having his hand fall over the hilt of his sword.
"Now you can get out of here."
Glancing half heartedly towards "Aizen" while looking towards a seemingly blank space; causing the man to freeze up before gaining control over himself again.
Offering a strained smile to the cat.
"I thought you wanted to talk about something?"
She just gave him an over the shoulder look that contained so much vitriol that he managed to feel it despite the fact he-
"I don't remember Sosuke Aizen being a blind black man but perhaps my eyes are getting bad in my old age… Though I doubt they'll be nearly as bad as yours."
That was all it took for the fake Aizen to sharply move to pull his sword out. Grabbing his hilt as he prepared to rip it out in an attempt to cut down the cat as quickly as he could - doubting he could kill her in one attack but hoping to at least injure. At least that was the plan he had in his mind.
Sadly this plan was immediately rendered impossible as he found himself unable to even draw his sword; his lack of vision not letting him see what had happened.
Of course the real Aizen was more than able to see that the old cat stopped him by placing her cane atop the butt of his blade. Stopping him from physically being able to draw his sword. Rendering the main weapon of the shinigami completely useless.
Not only that but managing to do it completely silently without so much as disturbing the air around them in a frightening display of control. That cat didn't even seem to think it was worth bragging about. Merely tilting her head to the side as she looked toward the space where the real Aizen hid.
*dong*
A chine rang out.
"Do you smell that?"
She simply asked as she looked between the two as she moved her free hand to tug at the medical mask covering her face. Showcasing a nasty smile that contorted her cheeks unnaturally. Stretching far further than a normal smile should be able to make for an unsettling scene.
Aizen's eyes widened as his body began to grow weak (as did that of his loyal servant in Tosen).
He at least managed to catch himself against the wall however Tosen was completely in the dark, literally as well as metaphorically, as he found himself collapsing to the floor. Not only that but Aizen found his own vision blurring as he looked at that tiny figure. Forcing him to narrow his eyes towards her.
*tap*
*tap*
*tap*
Only the sound of her footsteps was clear to the two.
"Ah~ how long has it been since I truly let my scalpels touch flesh~!"
Throwing her head back as she let a cackle echo through the faded distorted corridor with Aizen unconsciously looking to see if anyone realised what happened. However it truly felt as if they had been pushed into some ghostly realm. Unable to interact or be interacted with.
Soon something warm and wet fell across his face as he looked forth only to see the arm of Tosen uselessly fall to the floor. The cat no longer possessed a cane but instead had thick rubber gloves that she used to play with a bloody scalpel. Her entire appearance had changed in that brief moment.
He calmly thought as a thick black smog billowed out from the coat the cat now wore - being a billowing black coat made out of feathers. That familiar medical mask being changed for one more reminiscent of a bird's hooked beak. Only made from some kind of black leather rather than bone and keratin.
The mask completely covered her face which included having two large circular lenses that all but hid her eyes if not for the menacing crimson glow behind them. On either side of the mask there were even small metal vents that excreted more smog. Making it harder and harder to focus as time went on.
Aizen's gaze turned towards Tosen who didn't seem to even realise that he had lost an arm as he visionless glared (full of anger & fear) toward the manic voice.
A voice that didn't contain an ounce of moral fibre.
"You thought you could sneak around my fucking labs without me realising, boy~?"
"So that is what this is about…?"
"Well at first I was just going to talk about it but I feel your dog needed to learn manners."
Her amusement was clear as she waved that tiny knife in the air to clean it of some blood - letting the dark silver glimmer through the darkening monotone halls that were slowly filling with smoke.
Even now Aizen was slowly trying to dissect the secrets behind the cat in front of him.
"I don't care what your plans are, brat, but you should learn not to step into a lion's den uninvited without expecting to be bitten chehehe~."
Appearing behind him without him having even a chance to keep up; though a large portion of that was due to being poisoned than being incompetent like Tosen.
He felt something jab into his neck as the darkness finally consumed him.
