Delphinia stood at the rooftop, holding a small cake in her hands. The delicate white frosting glowed softly under the rooftop lights, and though the candle stood proudly in the center, it remained unlit. She glanced down at it before looking up at Evander, who had just arrived. A soft chuckle rumbled from his throat as he took in the sight before him.
"And what is this all about?" Evander asked, his deep voice carrying a hint of amusement.
Delphinia tilted her head, her lips curving into a playful smirk. "Can't you see? This is your birthday party," she declared proudly. "A private one, just you and your one and only wife."
Evander's eyes softened as he took a step closer, his gaze flickering between her radiant face and the cake she held before them. His heart swelled with warmth.
"A private birthday party, huh?" He hummed in thought, his lips twitching into a grin. "I have to say, I'm liking this idea already."
