Kent knew with absolute certainty that if Dia finally managed to break free from the hold the unknown beings had on her, their final play would be to threaten him.
He had seen this play out many times, so he knew they would act.
He was prepared for them, though, for he had no plans to let them go without telling them a piece of his mind. They had messed with Dia's life and, by extension, his. So they had to understand that when it came to him, nobody was beyond reproach.
Looking into Dia's eyes solved the issue, though.
They came for him, and so while the others were all staring at her, he seemed to see beyond that.
His body froze on the outside, and his soul vanished from his body and entered a very dark realm, appearing in an eerie space.
He immediately felt his bones tingle the moment he appeared there.
"They always choose the dark and twisted places for their meetings," Kent smirked. "How expected of beings said to be ancient horrors."
