"I don't just understand you," Dave said, his voice laced with disappointment. "After everything I did to those at the casino, any smart person would know I'm not an ordinary human." His eyes bore into Tasha's, a hint of disgust in their depths. "I'm sure you knew it. You were just blinded by having revenge for your cousin, that you think you can do whatever you want to me."
Dave's frown deepened, his expression turning cold. "I understand the grudge you have with me, but you went on to sacrifice the lives of two others who weren't even in any conflict with you. Are you really human at all?" His gaze seemed to pierce through Tasha, his words cutting deep into her psyche. "I guess you and that sick man-friend of yours are really meant for each other after all."
