After several minutes of fighting, Shin finally managed to remove enough scales around the dragon's back to get a look at the core. Even while weakened, the dragon was still a force to be feared.
The dragon is blinded and surrounded by five powerful fighters, yet he still struggles. His claws fly at blinding speed, his maw snaps like a bear trap, and his wings flap down with enough force to crush stones.
Shin dodged several tail swipes and fire bursts, but still couldn't find a big enough opportunity to deliver a direct strike to the dragon's core. The reason was simple. The dragon understood their plan; he knew that Shin would kill him if given the chance, and so he wasn't making it easy.
The dragon was pissed at them, but he wasn't a fool. He had tried to run away several times, but still failed when Alicia blocked his path with a barrier. He could've tried to break the barrier, but that would be the large opening that Shin needs to kill him.
