The lab was a cacophony of panic and shouted orders, but none of it mattered. I stepped forward, each movement deliberate, each step a death sentence.

The white coats—the spineless bastards—took it first. Their panic-filled screams echoed as they scrambled toward the exit, lab coats flapping behind them. I watched them for a moment, their retreat almost pathetic. Then I took one step.
CRACK.
The floor beneath me split like glass, veins of molten fire racing across the ground, chasing the fleeing scientists. WHOOSH! The cracks erupted into geysers of flame, consuming them whole. Their screams were swallowed by the inferno, their charred bodies crumbling into ash as the flames roared higher.
