Chapter 119 - Incoming Evil

Calming himself down, Samuel, with his instincts that told him the people before him were telling the truth, nodded in acknowledgement.

"My name is Samuel Griffin and that is Dr. Emmanuel Michelson. May I know your names?" Samuel requested they introduce themselves,

"It's nice to meet you both. My name is Ang-Streum Azz-Qeti. I am...or was the ruler of the planet Nebulax in the Noin-Gru Galaxy; a few billion light years from this galaxy. These three are my aides; Dav-Nido Ano-Ha, Benji-Ha-Dad Gyet-Nor and Lyn-Fe Agar-Da-Mon. We are the last survivors of our planet", the leader introduced himself and his companions.

"Are all your people able to fly as well", Samuel asked curiously. "The flight ability is a bloodline skill of the Nebulax royal family. As the king, and the only remaining member of the royal family, I'm the only one with it. However, even without that ability, my aides are some of the best technologists in our galaxy…possibly in the entire universe", Ang-Streum answered proudly.

"You mentioned that you four were the last survivors of your planet. How come?" Samuel asked. "That will have to wait. Lisia has picked up movement heading this way. I believe the government is also tracking their capsule after it entered the atmosphere. They will be here soon", Dr. Michelson interdicted.

"I can hear the choppers. They are twenty miles out but moving fast. We need to leave now", Samuel added.

"The three of you will join me on the hovercraft", Dr. Michelson said to the three aides as he pulled up alongside the open hatch. Nodding in acknowledgement, the three Nebulaxian aides hopped onto the hovercraft and secured themselves.

"Sam…will you please transport the capsule back to the lab?" Dr. Michelson requested. "I'll help you", Ang-Streum volunteered.

"Are you sure? I am able to transport it by myself", Samuel stated. "Don't worry. I am quite capable", Ang-Streum assured. "Very well then…we'll be going as well", Dr. Michelson said as he left with the aides.

Taking their positions on both sides of the capsule, Samuel and Ang-Streum prepared to lift the capsule. Raising his head to check if his compatriot was ready, Samuel witnessed Ang-Streum muttering something under his breath. The crystal on his forehead then shimmered with a faint glow.

When it stopped, Samuel sensed power brewing within Ang-Streum's body. He set his curiosity aside as Ang-Streum gave his readiness signal and the two easily lifted the grounded capsule and flew into the sky, following behind them Dr. Michelson and the aides fast as they could.

The capsule, although not the size of a regular passenger plane, weighed just as much…if not more because of its components.

They flew over the forests and mountains until they reached the mountain lab. A large hanger door opened up in the ground, revealing a deep underground facility. They slowly lowered the capsule into it and the doors closed up once again, returning to the normal surface appearance.

With the capsule secured in a corner in the large underground facility, Samuel and Ang-Streum joined Dr. Michelson and the three aides in the computer room. The aides were currently sitting behind transparent keyboards typing away as a large progress bar slowly filled up on the large screen.

"What are they doing?" Samuel asked curiously. "They are updating Lisia with the Nebulaxian data matrix they were able to retrieve before they lost their home world", Dr. Michelson replied as the progress bar passed the halfway mark.

...…...

Back at the capsule's crash site, the choppers filled with the investigators had landed and the groups were already hard at work surveying the area. There was clear confusion on their faces as the satellites had picked up a very sizeable object entering the atmosphere.

Here they stood in the supposed crash site but with nothing to show for it. Even the lake that was the original crash point had slowly filled back up, hiding the crater from the crash. Although it was not back to its full quantity, the investigators didn't suspect anything since they knew not of its original appearance.

After a few hours of searching without success, they returned to the city to review their satellite data and possibly update the devices to prevent further false alarms.

...…...

Observing the investigators on a second screen, Samuel could not help but commend the reaction speed of the government. If not for his and Dr. Michelson's presence there, they would most likely have had first contact with Ang-Streum and his aides.

Depending on the situation, there could have been a battle between them and judging by the strength Ang-Streum possessed, it would have been completely one-sided.

"UPDATE COMPLETE! ORGANIZING NOW!" Lisia announced suddenly after the update was complete. "Good…now we can return to our conversation", Dr. Michelson said as they all gathered round the table in the room and took their seats.

"So, you wanted to know how come we were the only survivors of our planet", Ang-Streum started. "Yeah", Samuel said with a nod.

"Nebulax, as I've already explained, is a monarchy that has lasted for five hundred generations. It was a beacon of peace within the galaxy; spearheading the creation of an intergalactic alliance treaty.

The established peace was soon shattered as the Tyrant emperor of the nearby Seena Empire launched a surprise attack on us, It was a relatively new empire that ruled an entire galaxy as a result of colonization due to the emperor's greed and desire to conquer,.

His name was Erxanaim Xravion the First, but he was referred commonly by the monicker of Mamon…the demon of Greed. With his access to the countless dark matter mines in his territory, he was able to build a huge armada to allow him fulfil his goal of subjugating the entire universe.

As the most advanced civilization in the closest galaxy, we were the first to be attacked. Using his weapons of mass destruction, he first launched an initial attack, wiping out most of the living things in the blast radius of the strike.

He then followed up with a massive invasion, wiping out the rest of the creatures on the surface of our planet, turning it into a desolate wasteland", Ang-Streum described…painting a vivid picture for all to imagine.

"That's insane. How twisted can one person be?" Samuel wondered aloud as he pondered over Ang-Streum's words. "How did you four manage to survive?" Dr. Michelson asked implying his desire to hear their backstories.
