As Ryuu pulled his hands away from each other slowly, numerous narrow arches of lightning jumped between his open palms. The crackling and buzzing sounds emitting from the lightning in his palms filled the living quarters while putting the conversation happening behind him to a halt.
Behind his mask. Ryuu's face was one of extreme concentration as he brought the lightning under more control, making the jumping arches gradually decrease until they disappeared, making the only indication of the presence of lightning to be the uniform high-frequency hum that emanated from Ryuu's hands.
Ryuu stood still for a couple of moments, observing the currently experimental jutsu in his hands before looking at his clones and nodding.
His clones nodded back as they took half a step away from Neko, with the one manually pumping her heart pulling his hand out of the side of her chest before it took half a step back.
Ryuu took a deep breath to calm his nerves before his palms slowly approached Neko's bare chest.
Thuuuud.
Neko's entire body jerked as soon as Ryuu's palms came in contact with her body, before her body lay back still when Ryuu pulled his hands back.
The two clones responsible for Neko's breathing and heart stepped back near the make-shift operation table, one resumed manual pumping of the ventilator while the other tried to feel a pulse.
"I don't feel anything, Prime." The second clone said, looking at Ryuu, whose hands still had the humming of the lighting chakra emanating from them.
"Step back, I will try again," Ryuu said as the humming emanating from his hands increased slightly. Seeing this, the two clones took half a step away again.
"Ryuu, what are you doing?" Inu's voice came from a bit behind Ryuu, to which Ryuu ignored in favor of his palms slowly approaching Neko's bare chest again.
Thuuuuud.
Neko's entire body jerked again, before her body lay back still when Ryuu pulled his hands back.
The two clones stepped back to Neko's side, helping her breathe and looking for a pulse. Before wordlessly taking half a step back when they didn't find a pulse.
"Ryuu," Inu called again, more serious and a bit threatening.
As an expert in lightning release, he couldn't fathom what Ryuu's objective was from using a lightning jutsu on Neko's still body. From his point of view, Ryuu is desecrating a comrade's body for experimentation using an elemental release that is known to be the most lethal to the human body.
Ryuu didn't acknowledge him as the humming of the jutsu in his hands increased again before slowly approaching Neko's bare chest again.
Thuuuuuuuud
Neko's entire body jerked again, before her body lay back still when Ryuu pulled his hands back with his two clones stepping again to Neko's side.
"Ryuu," Inu called again with anger seeping into his voice as he started to walk towards Ryuu and his clones, only to be stopped when Phoenix put a hand on his shoulder while two of Ryuu's clones stood between Inu and Ryuu and his clones.
"Don't you see what he is doing?" Inu asked with anger seeping in his tone while looking at Phoenix before looking back at Ryuu and his clones.
"Ryuu, stop what...."
lub....dub
"….you are... doing." Inu seemed to lose his voice, and his anger seemed to evaporate at the unmistakable sound that he heard.

The sensitive hearing of all the shinobi present could hear the sound of a beating heart, which was getting stronger, from the operating table in front of Ryuu. Especially since its owner had a hole through her side reaching her heart.
hhaaaaaaaah.
The sound of Neko drawing in a breath broke the silence that was dominated by the restarted heart. She took a deep, involuntary breath, even with the ventilator tube still in her mouth and throat.
For a moment, everything seemed to be still as they witnessed Neko's chest rising and falling as she breathed on her own, along with the sound of her healed and beating heart.
Ryuu stood stunned for a moment, his hands still raised, but with the humming of lightning now absent, before he seemed to get out of it before turning to his stunned clones and saying.
"Let's finish this."
This seemed to break the silence as Ryuu's clones snapped out of it and rushed to finish the operation.
Nearby, Inu stood still as Phoenix's hand left his shoulder. He was completely shaken and surprised by what he had just seen. His emotions were mirrored by Phoenix and Tenzo, as all three looked at Ryuu and his clones, who were closing the incision on Neko's chest while checking her condition. The three couldn't really describe what they just witnessed, as they were left in stunned silence.
A few minutes later:
As Ryuu finished closing and healing the incision on Neko's side, along with the slight red marks of his palms left on Neko's chest, that was expected after-effect from using a lightning jutsu; his clone pulled out the tube of the ventilator from Neko's mouth as Ryuu and his clones observed and checked that everything was done and in order.
"It's done," Ryuu said with some disbelief, finally seeping into his voice as he declared the operation's end.
"It worked," a clone breathed out
"It actually worked," another said, a bit excited
"We did it, Prime." Another clone cheered with a slightly loud voice.
"You know what this means, Prime?" Another clone said in an excited tone as he put a hand on Ryuu's shoulder.
"Yeah," Ryuu replied in a low tone as he kept looking at Neko, who was covered by a blanket that a clone had unsealed, covering her whole body except her head. He was still coming to terms with what he had accomplished.
"Butaicho," Ryuu heard Phoenix call him, making him turn around only to see her approaching him before standing right in front of him.
"I am lost for words," Phoenix said after a moment of silence, as Ryuu's clones that helped him with the surgery were dispelling one after another. Ryuu could feel shock, disbelief, happiness, and pride emitting from her
A bit behind her, Inu was still standing in shock with Tenzo, now standing beside him.
"What just happened?" Tenzo muttered with his voice filled with disbelief.
"I have no idea," Inu breathed out after moments of silence.
He still can't fully understand or believe what he had just witnessed.
