Chapter 769 - Chapter 770: The End of the Domain of Chaos

Chapter 770: The End of the Domain of Chaos

Above Chaos City, two colossal figures of light had taken form, radiating an overwhelming pressure.

No one had expected that the Heaven-Earth Sect's master and the Earth Desolation Hall's master—the two supreme titans of the continent—would finally summon their Sovereign Avatars.

And the technique they both cultivated was none other than the legendary Great Sun Undying Body.

Today would be remembered as the day of the Great Sun Undying Body's earth-shaking clash.

Huang Kurong stood atop the shoulder of his black Great Sun Undying Body, eyes cold as he stared at the golden Avatar opposite him.

"Senior Brother Qian," he said softly, "Master always favored you in the past. I wonder how far you've truly taken your Great Sun Undying Body."

Qian Tian's expression chilled.

"You still dare mention Master?" he replied, voice cutting. "If not for you, he would never have died in such anger.

"You know better than anyone what blood debt lies between you and him."

Huang Kurong said nothing.

The killing intent in his eyes only deepened.

"Winners are kings and losers are dust," he said at last, voice turning flat. "Today, I'll prove Master's eyes were wrong."

He stomped down.

The black Great Sun Undying Body shuddered as rounds of dark suns rose within its body and shattered one by one.

Whoosh.

Black currents burst from within the Avatar, surging out beneath its palms and condensing into countless writhing tendrils.

Each was shaped like a monstrous black scorpion, radiating a sinister, poisonous aura that seemed to stain even the light.

"Sovereign divine art—Eight-Sun Desolate Scorpion!"

His shout echoed across the sky as the black currents exploded outward.

They vanished into the void, slipping through space itself like venomous snakes without form or shadow.

In moments, they had filled the entire sky, hemming in the battlefield on all sides.

Even the Grand Elder, a Ninth-Grade Sovereign, felt a distinct chill.

A single strike from those scorpion streams would be enough to kill anyone below Earth Sovereign on the spot.

"So that's the Earth Desolation Hall Master's Sovereign divine art…"

Below, Lin Langtian watched the clash unfold, thoughts turning.

As far as he knew, the Great Sun Undying Body could awaken nine suns of power.

But how that power was shaped was up to the wielder.

Each master of the technique would manifest a completely different Nine-Sun divine art.

His gaze shifted to Qian Tian.

Facing the storm of black scorpions, the Sect Master's expression did not change.

He formed a seal with one hand.

Golden light erupted from within his own Great Sun Undying Body, rounds of pure golden suns blazing to life.

"Eight-Sun Golden Shield."

A single tap of his finger, and ten thousand rays of gold poured outward, forming massive shields of solid light on all sides of the golden Avatar.

They stood like walls of forged gold, exuding unshakable endurance.

Hum.

The tidal wave of black scorpion streams came crashing down.

Where they passed, space itself was torn open.

Any ordinary peak Ninth-Grade caught in that rush would have been dissolved in an instant.

But when the venomous currents struck the golden shields, they met an impenetrable wall.

No matter how they clawed and writhed, they could not pierce so much as a crack through the barrier.

Hiss, hiss.

Darkness and gold flared again and again as the scorpions broke themselves on the shields.

From below, Lin Langtian could tell Qian Tian's Eight-Sun Golden Shield had little offensive bite—its purpose was simple and absolute: defense.

So long as the incoming force did not exceed its capacity, it would not yield.

Across the sky, Huang Kurong's face hardened.

His Eight-Sun Desolate Scorpion had ended countless opponents before.

Yet here, it had met its match.

He snorted coldly, but there was no surprise in his eyes.

Qian Tian had been his senior long before this.

One did not sit at the peak of such a sect by luck alone.

His gaze dropped.

If eight suns would not do… then he would add another.

He raised his hands and formed a strange seal, then sat cross-legged upon the head of his black Avatar.

Eight dark suns rose from its limbs, brow, dantian, and eyes.

The oppressive aura radiating from them made every soul in Chaos City tremble.

Then, from the Avatar's heart, a black seed sprouted.

It swelled rapidly and split apart, becoming a ninth jet-black sun.

Huang Kurong's eyes went abyssal.

Nine suns.

The pinnacle of the Great Sun Undying Body's Sovereign divine art.

Below, Lin Langtian's gaze sharpened.

He did not want to miss a single moment.

This was the full might of the Nine-Sun art he had only heard about until now.

On Qian Tian's side, the golden shields dissolved.

He had no intention of hiding behind them anymore.

Only equal force could meet what was coming next.

He closed his eyes.

Another set of seals flowed from his hands.

Within the golden Avatar, gold suns began to rise in turn.

Eight appeared in rapid succession.

Still his hands moved.

Power surged from his body in an overwhelming torrent, flooding into the Great Sun Undying Body.

A tiny spark of light appeared at its heart.

It grew, brightening and swelling until a ninth golden sun rose to join the others.

Nine golden suns shone from the Avatar's core.

Qian Tian opened his eyes.

His gaze met Huang Kurong's across the sky, both eyes filled with murder.

Then, together, they moved.

"Nine-Sun Divine Art—Nine-Sun Desolate Abyss!"

"Nine-Sun Divine Art—Nine-Sun Golden Veil!"

With twin roars, explosions of power tore the sky open.

Above Huang Kurong, the black suns collapsed inward, forming an abyssal maw that twisted the air itself—a boundless, lightless hole that seemed ready to devour heaven and earth alike.

Cracks rippled across the square below just from its presence.

On Qian Tian's side, golden light surged into a titanic canopy, a veil of light bearing nine blazing suns across its expanse.

The aura it gave off felt like an unbreachable firmament.

The sheer pressure radiating from the two divine arts surpassed even their earlier spells.

The Great Sun Undying Body's true might was finally on full display.

"In my abyss," Huang Kurong snarled, "turn to dust, Senior Brother."

The desolate hole swallowed the sky as it descended, enveloping Qian Tian's golden Avatar in its darkness.

If he was drawn in, then no matter what means he possessed, the abyss would slowly grind his power and body to nothing.

And when it devoured a Great Sun Undying Body, Huang Kurong's own foundation would soar, perhaps enough to step into upper Earth Sovereign and seize the whole continent for himself.

But Qian Tian only lifted his head, eyes narrowing.

He changed his seal once more.

The golden veil shivered.

Thousands of glittering arrows formed along its surface, each one humming with terrifying force.

They shot upward in a storm, driving straight into the heart of the abyss.

Ripples of gold spread visibly through the air.

Under the barrage, even the boundless darkness of the Desolate Abyss faltered.

Its edges wavered, black light flickering as it began to erode.

Huang Kurong's pupils contracted.

So his abyss could be held back after all.

"I'd like to see how many times you can manage that," he growled.

Black light surged as he forced the abyss down again, determined to swallow his foe whole.

Whoosh, whoosh.

The Nine-Sun Golden Veil shuddered once more.

Arrow after arrow streamed forth like a golden storm, beating the abyss back with sheer, relentless force.

Boom, boom.

Shockwaves ripped through the air as the two divine arts crashed into each other again and again.

Still, neither side gave way.

The abyss would surge forward, only to be pierced; the veil would shudder, only to hold.

Time dragged on.

Overhead, the clash raged with undiminished ferocity—but both men were paying the price.

Huang Kurong's face had gone pale, sweat beading along his brow.

Qian Tian looked no better.

At this rate, they would fight until both were drained dry, and neither was eager to gamble everything on a drawn-out war of attrition.

Their eyes met through the maelstrom.

Then, as if by prior agreement, both cut their seals.

The abyss and the veil shattered in a final pair of explosions, vanishing from sight.

"This time, we'll call it a draw," Huang Kurong said lightly.

"But I sincerely hope you can keep smiling until the end, Senior Brother."

His gaze lingered on the faint line of blood at the corner of Qian Tian's lips, and a twisted smile curved his own.

He could feel it—deep within the other man's body, something dangerous was being held down by sheer force of will.

Pressed too hard, it would only explode harder later.

Qian Tian's expression tightened ever so slightly at that smile.

Huang Kurong laughed aloud, pivoted sharply, and wrapped a sleeve of light around Ice River King.

Space twisted, and the two disappeared into the distance.

Qian Tian watched them go, eyes cold as ice.

Then he turned his gaze on the three leaders of the Domain of Chaos.

Without Huang Kurong behind them, none of the three dared meet his eyes.

"You have three days," he said softly. "Deliver one million drops of Sovereign Spirit Liquid and a thousand cities.

"If you are late… I will come to your doors in person and wipe your sects from the map."

The words sank like stones into the hearts of every Domain of Chaos expert.

With that, Qian Tian's body blurred and vanished.

"Retreat," his voice echoed a moment later across the battlefield.

The three elders raised their hands, directing the Heaven-Earth Sect's armies to withdraw in perfect order.

Waves of power swept through the sky as hundreds of thousands of figures turned and departed, the sight as magnificent as a receding tide.

The three Domain of Chaos leaders watched them go, faces black with anger.

"Damn that wretch," one of them snarled through clenched teeth.

If not for Lin Langtian's final victory, they would not now be nursing this humiliation.

The Black Demon Sect Master's lips twisted.

"Let them have their moment," he said darkly. "With a display like that, that boy is sure to represent the Heaven-Earth Sect in the Dragon Kun Realm.

"And once it opens… he'll never leave it alive."

The others' eyes gleamed coldly.

Rumor had it the Earth Desolation Hall would be sending its young hall master into the Dragon Kun Realm as well.

Given how things stood between the two great powers, that youth would not let Lin Langtian walk away.

When that time came, they all thought the same thing.

There would be quite a show to watch.
