Chapter 3 - The Test of Morality

Mira took her place before the audience which they gathered together like a group of bees

The former devoted followers now showed uncertainty while their optimism doubted against the forceful declarations of the lector speech.

The speeches of the lector planted an inner response that Mira could feel vanishing.

Mira proved to be more than an average leader.

She had dedicated herself to extreme struggle and made tremendous personal sacrifices to avoid giving in to doubt.

Her mind returned to her childhood years while memories gradually merged with the current moment.

She used to be part of an aristocratic family which enjoyed a life of wealth and status.

The kingdom's corruption emerged as a disease that transformed everything for the worse.

Royal corruption spread through the kingdom until it corrupted the king-noble relations and created an unendurable tax burden for her family.

The family lost their ability to pay taxes which led to the collapse of their noble social class.

Mira's family was banished to live in a distant rural village which was far from the wealth of the capital. She resisted letting the difficult circumstances break her inner strength.

The fifteen years had passed since the difficult time but she remembered it vividly—the despair that consumed her family and their desperate fight to survive.

During that period she was a young teenager full of passion and intense emotions.

Those difficult times transformed her beyond recognition into a person with an entirely different worldview.

She witnessed people starved to deaths while observing the chaos of rural regions and endured the bitter loss of everything she once loved.

It was brutal impression for former noble girl who never witnessed pain and suffering of commoner

The system which presented itself as ordered and privileged revealed itself to be fundamentally broken.

Mira chose to abandon her family and travel to the capital to escape the hopelessness which surrounded her while she seeking to transform the world she despised.

She refined her abilities at the kingdom's core by learning new knowledge and creating power while mastering the unique mental skill of Morality Test.

The root for this mental magic was her fundamental worldview about morals and perspective of each life.

The path proved to be difficult to navigate. Every day she fought for her freedom while also fighting for her liberty and many times she wept because everything seemed unfair.

The combination of teasing about her red hair along with bullying and feeling alone strengthened her resolve to be better person.

She noticed how the crowd's difficulties matched the expressions on their faces as she stood there.

These people were just like her. They came from broken homes which were affected by the kingdom's collapse. These people were not present for a basic discussion because they seek something much more important.

"What's your purpose here today?"

she asked to audience gathered here today.

You are not attending this event to watch an uninteresting discussion.

No. You have gathered here because you wish to learn about the Lector.

Don't you want to discover who he really is?

What his purpose is?

Who he truly is?"

Her eyes scanned the audience as she delivered each word that struck their hearts deeply.

"Ask yourselves, what brought you here?

The gathering was it for a debate or to shape the destiny of Eldorath?"
