A woman crouched by the river, washing her face.
Her gray robe hung loosely over her body, and she wore a hood. Her chestnut-brown hair draped down to her knees. The water splashed around her, flowing down her forearm and into her sleeve.
"Miss, where do you come from?"
Two burly men with axes at their waists stood behind her. They stood with their hands on their hips, dressed in coarse clothing, looking unkempt, their beards clumped together with ale or something, resembling local farmers.
"That's none of your business."
The woman stood up, shook the water from her hands, and pushed away the strands of hair stuck to her cheeks, revealing a pair of blue eyes on her beautiful face.
"We've never seen you around here."
The men, ignoring her words, moved a few steps closer, intentionally angling their axes towards her slightly.
"There are many people in Asgard; you don't necessarily know everyone."
