Chengdu is located in the northwest of Shu, further west lies the vast plateau, close to the Tibetan Region, with sparse population.
Since the Tang Dynasty, centered around Chengdu, "Jian Nan Xi Chuan Dao" has been the most affluent place in the Divine State, and at the time, there was the saying "Yang first, Yi second", with prosperity continuing till now.
Goods coming from other places mostly arrive from the east, so the East District is also where the Three Religions and Nine Sects gather, with the most complex mix of people.
There is an endless number of inns and taverns.
Tea houses and pubs are everywhere.
"Spicy marinated rabbit, try it for the New Year!"
"Hot sweet fermented rice, sweet and warm for the heart!"
"Tangy vinegar tofu, have a bowl to ease the greasiness!"
"Sugar figurines, beautiful and delicious, for a joyful New Year!"
The street is alive with various hawking calls.
