Chapter 413 - Chapter 413: The Players' Undead Followers (Part 3)

Chapter 413: The Players' Undead Followers (Part 3)

"Roar~~"

The wyvern circled and landed, and Singo dragged the half-giant's corpse with one hand as he walked over.

He immediately spotted two people at the back of the line: both were dressed in red and black tailcoats, with deathly pale skin. One of them was carrying a wooden coffin.

Their identity was obvious—they were members of "Nocturne," vampire players.

So, Singo asked cautiously.

"Langchu?"

"Yo? Isn't this Singo?"

The man turned around, revealing a familiar, mischievous face that made people want to punch him.

Sure enough, it was [Langli Baitiao], one of the leaders of Nocturne, famous for his absurd and chaotic antics.

Next to him, carrying the coffin, was the poor newbie [Wolf of the Night], whom Langli had tricked into joining Nocturne.

"Tch, you guys are quick."

"Same to you."

Langli Baitiao leaned over, eyeing the large corpse bag that Singo was dragging, practically drooling.

Human corpses could only be turned into regular zombies, but this one was sure to transform into a "giant zombie"—a creature that would be incredibly intimidating when summoned.

Langli Baitiao's face was full of envy. "Damn, where'd you find a big guy like that—and it's fresh!"

Singo replied calmly, "Just got lucky. Cleared a bandit hideout, and there happened to be a half-giant boss inside."

"Damn you, lucky European!"

"You actually hit the jackpot!"

Langli Baitiao cursed with frustration.

Singo raised an eyebrow and looked at the wooden coffin on Wolf of the Night's back. "Don't just talk about me—you guys have quite the haul too."

The coffin was over two meters long and packed with bones, easily weighing hundreds of kilograms and leaving Wolf of the Night drenched in sweat.

"Of course."

Langli Baitiao puffed out his chest, proudly patting the coffin, nearly making Wolf of the Night lose his balance.

"We're noble vampires, aristocrats of the night, born undead kings. Gathering a few corpses and bones is child's play."

"See this?"

"Inside this coffin are the ancestors of the Leo Bosk family from three generations back. I bet at least one of them was a powerful warrior!"

Even Singo broke out in a cold sweat upon hearing that.

What a monster!

Not only did he wipe out an entire family, but he also dragged their ancestors out of their graves to use as followers.

But then Singo felt a bit annoyed—why hadn't he thought of such a brilliant idea?

The ancestral tombs of the Northern nobles had already been looted of their treasures, but the skeletons were still there. Some of them might even belong to extraordinary individuals.

Ahead in the line, a barbarian player carrying a stone coffin turned and shouted angrily, "Damn it, I was wondering why the Bosk family's tomb was empty—it was you who looted it!"

Langli Baitiao crossed his arms and smirked. "Looting? Nocturne's actions can't be called looting."

"It's just survival of the fittest! If I hadn't taken these bones, they would've gone to lowlifes like you."

"Hmph!"

"Don't think digging up the Bosk family's graves is anything impressive. I've got the ancestors of the Norton family with Frost Giant blood right here. They're not necessarily inferior to your Northern Lion!"

The barbarian snorted and turned away, carrying his stone coffin without speaking further.

"Heh..."

"Let me just say—all of you are amateurs who don't understand the greatness of necromancers."

A tall, slender man in a refined suit approached, tipping his hat in greeting.

He had a handsome face, a high nose bridge with silver-framed glasses, and a disturbingly twisted smile that didn't match his appearance.

His name above his head was [Rainy Citadel].

Immediately, whispers broke out among the players.

"Isn't that Rainy Citadel?"

"The pervert actually showed up."

"What a scumbag."

"Typical of him."

[Rainy Citadel] was infamous on the forums. He had accepted a quest to help a tiefling girl find her parents, only to discover they had died in an accident.

He shamelessly brought their corpses back to complete the quest and even resurrected them as zombies right in front of the girl. The outcome was predictable.

He later posted about it on the forums:

"I reunited the girl with her parents, so why wasn't she happy?"

"Sigh, it's so hard to be a good person."

After that, he was unanimously labeled a top-tier pervert by the player base.

"I've gathered the ancestors of the Bosk, Lackman, and Noville families—the three great Northern houses—and I'll convert them all into undead followers to restore the glory of necromancers!"

Rainy Citadel raised his staff, and three skeletons floated in the air, orbiting around him, leaving the other players in stunned silence.

"Still just a grave robber, huh?"

Langli Baitiao scoffed. "What are you, playing Pokémon with skeletons?"

After a long pause, Singo clapped lightly and sighed. "The world truly has no shortage of monsters."

He had thought poisoning people and stealing corpses was bad enough, but compared to this group, he was practically a saint.

At that moment, the masked player at the front of the line, carrying a large sack of corpses, spoke lazily. "Heh, I'm just here to find a wife."

His name displayed above his head was [Undead Knight].

"..."

The players fell silent again.

"Dude, have some decency," Langli Baitiao sighed, waving his hand dismissively.

Suddenly, the iron gates of the [Undead Research Institute] creaked open, causing the crowd to stir.

"Look! The doors are open!"

"I can't wait to see what my undead minions will look like!"

"Yeah, I'm excited too—"

"Stay away from me, pervert."

"Once we convert the Bosk ancestors, Nocturne will be unstoppable!"

A human researcher in a white lab coat stepped out—it was Magusi, accompanied by two corpse monsters.

With a warm smile, he bowed to the players and said, "Thank you for visiting the Undead Research Institute. Please line up and enter in an orderly manner. Director Orest will assist you in transforming your undead."

The player at the front, [Undead Knight], was ecstatic as he hoisted his corpse sack, ready to enter—only to be stopped by Magusi.

The two towering corpse monsters behind him took a step forward, growling and raising their massive axes.

"Entry fee: five gold coins."

Magusi extended his hand, still smiling, though it looked increasingly sinister to the players.

This guy's a smiling tiger!

The players collectively gasped.
