Scott and the group drove to the location they had agreed upon to meet with Liam and Hayden. When they arrived, they found Liam and Hayden already waiting.
Scott and Stiles got out of the cars and approached them.
Scott said. "There's a creature hunting chimeras—and eating them."
After hearing that, Hayden asked. "So, what do you need me for exactly?"
Stiles replied, "We need you to go with us to the Blue Moon Club—as bait. Don't worry, we'll protect you."
Scott nodded. "Yes, you'll be safe. Liam will be with you the whole time, and Stiles and Malia will be close by too. So... are you in?"
Hayden looked at Liam, who gave her a nod. Then she looked at Scott and said. "I'm in."
Scott smiled. "Good. And by the way, you don't need to worry about the Dread Doctors too much—we killed two of them yesterday. I don't think the last one will come after you. Plus, Deaton is almost done with the cure. It should be ready in a few days."
Liam said. "But I'm still going to stay with Hayden until we deal with the last Doctor."
Scott nodded. "Alright. Better safe than sorry, I guess."
Liam added. "By the way, one of my friends went missing yesterday. His mom called me today asking if I'd seen him."
Scott asked. "What's his name?"
Liam said. "Mason."
Scott thought. 'Mason is the Beast. That's why the Doctor took him. He'll be fine—but I can't tell Liam that.'
Stiles said. "As in Mason Hewitt?"
Liam said. "Yes, that's his name. How do you know him?"
Scott and Stiles exchanged a look. Then Stiles answered. "He's a chimera too—his name was in the memories we got from the Dread Doctors."
Liam asked. "Then... is he okay?"
Scott replied. "We don't know. But if he's alive, we'll find him. Now, let's go deal with that chimera-eating monster."
With that, Scott got back into Chris's car. Liam and Hayden rode with Stiles in his Jeep, and the group drove to the Blue Moon Night Club.
---
Arriving at the Blue Moon Club
They pulled into the parking lot and got out of their cars.
Scott looked at Liam and said. "Alright. You two go in first. It's a shady club—they won't ask about IDs. Dance with Hayden for a bit and don't act suspicious, even if you feel someone watching you. Then leave."
Then he turned to Stiles and Malia. "You two go in with them. Dance a bit, then leave with them. And Stiles, please don't do any of your weird dance moves and draw attention."
Stiles protested. "Hey! My dance moves aren't weird—they're great!"
Scott ignored him and looked at Malia. "Please keep him in check."
Malia said. "I'll try."
Chris spoke up. "After you kids leave the club, get in the Jeep and drive to the ranch. Hopefully, the creature we're looking for will follow. We'll be tailing it from behind."
Stiles grinned. "Alright, guys. Let's go have some fun."
With that, Stiles, Malia, Liam, and Hayden walked up to the club and entered. The security guy didn't care that they were minors—he just let them in.
Once inside, the four of them ordered some sodas and joined the crowd on the dance floor.
In the corner of the club, an Asian man stood with a drink in his hand, watching Hayden with hungry eyes. He noticed her the moment she walked in—and completely ignored Liam, Stiles, and Malia.
Malia and Stiles noticed the man too. While they danced, Stiles telepathically contacted Scott, Allison, and Chris.
[The guy we're looking for is here.] He said.
[Are you sure?] Allison replied.
[Yes. I'm very sure. He's looking at Hayden like she's the most delicious thing he's ever seen. He's even licking his lips. He hasn't taken his eyes off her since we got in.]
Chris responded. [Alright. Stay there for half an hour—then leave.]
---
After half an hour, Stiles, Malia, Liam, and Hayden left the club, chatting and laughing as they got into the Jeep and drove back to the ranch.
Right behind them, the Asian man got into his car and began following.
Chris followed the man from behind in his own car and spoke to Braeden telepathically. [Stop looking for the one who ate the two chimeras. We've already found him.]
Allison asked. "Didn't that guy notice Stiles, Malia, and Liam are shapeshifters?"
Scott replied. "Maybe he didn't. Or maybe he just doesn't care. He seems confident enough in his own strength."
Allison frowned. "What kind of supernatural creature do you think he is?"
Scott shook his head. "All I could tell from his scent is that he's a shapeshifter. But what kind? No idea."
Chris said. "We're about to find out."
As Stiles drove into the ranch, the man trailing them parked his car in the woods nearby, then jumped over the fence and began quietly searching for Hayden.
Scott and Allison got out of their car and followed him at a safe distance so he wouldn't notice. Meanwhile, Chris drove up and parked in front of the pack house, where the others were gathered, sitting around a fire. Noshiko and her husband were there too.
Victoria looked up at Chris. "So? Where is he?"
Chris sat beside her. "He'll be here soon. Scott and Allison are watching him."
The man crept through the dark toward the pack house and hid behind a tree, staring at the group. His eyes locked onto Hayden with hunger, but then he paused, sensing something wrong. He scanned the people around her—and realized far too late that he'd just walked into a den full of wolves.
He cursed in his mind. 'Shit… I was too focused on the delicious girl. I didn't even notice who was with her. I thought she was a lone shapeshifter like the other two I ate. I should leave… but damn, I really want to eat her.'
While he hesitated, Scott and Allison stood a few meters behind him, each holding one of the wolf pups—Ghost and Leila—in their arms. Vesper and Luna stood quietly behind them, watching.
Too distracted by Hayden and torn between fleeing or fighting an entire pack, the man didn't notice them.
Scott casually walked right beside him and whispered. "She's delicious, right?"
The man, licking his lips, answered subconsciously. "Yeah… too delicious."
Scott whispered again. "Then go get her. What can a pack of wolves do to you? You're very strong."
The man muttered. "Yeah…"
But then he froze mid-sentence. He slowly turned his head and saw Scott standing next to him, calmly stroking the fur of the wolf pup in his arms—without even looking at him, Scott was watching the pack instead.
Panic filled the man's thoughts. 'Damn… Who is this guy? I didn't even sense him get beside me.'
He turned to run—but froze again when he saw Allison standing in front of him with an amused smile. Her eyes glowed red, and two massive wolves stood beside her.
He stumbled back in fear, thinking. 'What did I get myself into? This little girl is terrifying. And what's with those giant wolves? And more importantly…'
He turned back to look at Scott. 'This guy… he's not a normal shapeshifter. The feeling I get from him is terrifying.'
Out loud, he stammered. "I—I'm just lost. If you'll excuse me, I'll be leaving now."
Scott grabbed his shoulder and replied. "Nope. Sorry, buddy…"
Then his eyes glowed red, and with a wicked smirk, he said.
"You're not leaving here alive."
Before the man could react, Scott threw him across the yard. He crashed into the ground, landing right in front of the pack.
The guy stood up quickly and looked at Stiles and the rest of the pack, who were staring at him with evil smirks and glowing red eyes. He cursed in his mind. 'Damn it, this must be the McCall Pack… and I foolishly walked into their den and tried to eat one of them.'
Scott and Allison walked over and sat next to Melissa.
Scott said. "So, who wants to fight this guy?"
"Me, I'll fight him." Liam stood up, anger on his face as he looked at the man. His eyes glowed yellow, fur grew from the sides of his cheeks, and he growled. "I'll make you regret wanting to eat Hayden."
The guy replied. "I know who you are… the McCall Pack. I admit I made a mistake, but if you think you can kill me, think again."
Then he began to shift.
His body convulsed as bones cracked and muscles swelled. His skin became covered in thick, dark scales. His jaw split wide, teeth sharpening into fangs, and an elephant-like trunk burst from his face. His eyes glowed red, sharp claws grew from his fingers, and a bull's tail lashed behind him. His body grew into a monstrous, three-meter-tall bear-like abomination.
He charged at Liam, and the two of them began fighting.
Stiles said. "Cool. Does anyone know what that thing is?"
Ken answered. "He's a Bulgasari—a creature from Korean folklore. It has the body of a bear, the trunk of an elephant, eyes like a rhinoceros, claws like a tiger, and a bull's tail. It grows larger by consuming metal and is nearly invincible in most stories. Though in some tales, its only weakness is fire."
Peter asked. "Isn't it supposed to be a cannibal?"
Ken replied. "No, it's not a cannibal."
Isaac added. "Then why did he eat those two chimeras?"
Deaton said. "I think he's after the mercury in their bodies. What do you think, Ken?"
Ken nodded. "Yeah. Mercury is a metal—and since it's not just regular mercury, but modified mercury that gives powers and turns humans into chimeras, it must be very attractive to the Bulgasari."
Stiles said. "So that's what's going on. Those chimeras are really unlucky. Not only did the Dread Doctors turn them into guinea pigs, but now this guy is hunting and eating them."
Erica snapped. "Shut up, Stiles."
Stiles frowned. "Why? I'm just telling the truth."
Erica spoke to him telepathically. [Hayden is a chimera, you idiot. And now she's depressed and scared—you can't smell that?]
Stiles cursed silently. 'Crap. I forgot she was here.'
He turned toward Hayden and said. "Don't worry. Deaton will heal you and turn you back to normal in a few days."
Seeing the girls all glaring at him, Stiles cleared his throat and said. "Anyway… let's just watch Liam's fight."
Boyd said. "The Bulgasari is strong. Liam's going to lose."
Melissa added. "Yeah, his skin is like armor. No matter what Liam does, he can't hurt him."
Liam was giving it everything he had, but the Bulgasari's skin was like iron—he couldn't even scratch it with his claws. The Bulgasari was like a tank; no matter how hard Liam punched, he couldn't break his defense or even make him take a step back.
The only reason Liam wasn't injured was because he was faster than the Bulgasari.
After fifteen minutes of back-and-forth fighting, neither of them had managed to hurt the other.
Scott called out. "Liam, come back here! He's too strong!"
But Liam didn't listen—he was too angry, too caught up in the thrill of the fight.
Scott growled and unleashed his Alpha aura. His voice deepened as he shouted. "Liam! Come back here!"
That snapped Liam out of it. He backed away and returned to Scott.
"I'm sorry." Liam said. "His tough skin made me really angry."
Scott put a hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry about it."
Then Scott moved so fast he turned into a blur, delivering a punch to the Bulgasari's gut, slamming him into the ground hard and making him spit out a mouthful of blood.
Scott looked disappointed as he walked back to the pack and said. "I thought he was strong enough to give me a challenge, but…"
Scott sighed. "Being too strong is lonely."
Stiles groaned. "Damn it, Scott's doing it again. Boyd, let's go beat his arrogant ass."
Boyd replied. "Stiles, if you want to get abused, don't drag me into it again." He then looked at the Bulgasari and added. "I'll handle this big guy."
Scott nodded. "Boyd, don't shift if you want to have fun—and let Liam absorb his powers when you're done."
Boyd smirked. "Alright, I won't shift."
He looked at the Bulgasari. "Get up. You've already healed. I'll make a deal with you—if you can beat me, or even kill me, you're free to go. No one will stop you."
The Bulgasari stood up. "Are you serious?"
Boyd nodded. "Very serious. So go all out."
The Bulgasari glanced at Scott, and before he could say a word, Scott said. "You have my word. If you win against Boyd, you're free to leave."
Boyd and the Bulgasari started fighting—but it didn't take long for the Bulgasari to realize Boyd wasn't an easy opponent. He was faster, and though Boyd's punches didn't break his skin, they cracked bones and damaged organs. Worst of all, Boyd was just too fast.
The pack watched from their chairs, amused, as Boyd thoroughly enjoyed the fight for more than half an hour.
Eventually, Boyd used his speed to appear behind the Bulgasari. For the first time in the fight, he used his claws, driving his hand into the creature's back, grabbing his spine, and crushing it.
The Bulgasari collapsed to the ground, paralyzed. Boyd straddled his chest and began punching him in the face, each hit harder than the last, breaking bones and knocking out teeth.
Finally, the Bulgasari lost consciousness and shifted back into human form.
Boyd got up, smiling, and walked back to the pack. "That was fun. Liam—he's all yours."
Liam nodded, walked over to the unconscious Bulgasari, and drove his claws into his chest, beginning to absorb his powers. The Bulgasari stirred, groaning as he felt his strength being taken. He struggled, but Liam punched him in the face repeatedly until he went still again and completed the absorption.
When it was done, Liam stood up, his eyes glowing red—he had become an Alpha.
Scott approached him, patted his shoulder, and said. "Congratulations."
Liam smiled. "Thanks."
Then Scott turned to Stiles with an evil grin. "Stiles, come with me. Let's deal with this guy."
Stiles held up his hands. "Hey, hey, hey! I don't like that smile of yours. You know what? I just remembered I have to go help my dad..."
Before he could finish, Scott appeared beside him, holding the unconscious Bulgasari in one hand and grabbing Stiles by the arm with the other.
"You just said you wanted to beat my arrogant ass, and you ruined my morning with Allison." Scott said. "So I think we should spar. Just a little bit."
Stiles tried to pull away. "No, we don't need to spar!"
"Yes, we do." Scott said.
Then he opened a shadow portal to the woods and stepped through it, dragging both Stiles and the Bulgasari with him.
Soon after, the pack heard loud growls and the sounds of a fierce battle coming from the woods. Then, loud whimpers.
Suddenly, they saw Stiles in his full werewolf form—a towering 2.5-meter brown-and-white beast—running frantically around the ranch. He was being chased and repeatedly launched into the sky by Scott, who was in his terrifying 3-meter-tall black werewolf form. Scott laughed as he punched and kicked Stiles through the air, following him with each blow.
Hayden watched in fear, but the rest of the pack—including Noshiko and Ken—just laughed. They were too used to this by now.
Allison smiled. "Stiles never learns. He always gets himself in trouble."
Melissa chuckled. "If he didn't cause trouble, he wouldn't be Stiles. He's always been like that since he was a child."
And with that, they watched Stiles suffer, laughing and enjoying the rest of the night.
