Chapter 7 -  Iron Fist Beginnings

Back in his modest quarters, Linfei unrolled the "Iron Fist Boxing" manual and studied the intricate diagrams and instructions carefully. The technique was designed to be learned step by step, its movements simple at first but growing in complexity and power with each phase.

He crafted a daily routine for himself, balancing cultivation with boxing practice. Each morning began with Qi circulation meditation, strengthening the flow inside him and preparing his body for the physical exertion ahead. Afterward, he moved to the core boxing exercises—repeated punches, stances, and footwork drills from the Lower Stage of the Yellow Level techniques.

Linfei's training was methodical. The first two days focused on mastering the stances: firm footing, steady breathing, and proper posture. He learned how to root his energy in the dantian and channel it outward into his fists. By the third day, he added simple straight punches, paying close attention to the instruction on how to direct Qi into each strike.

The following days built upon this foundation. He practiced combinations of jabs and blocks, integrating flowing transitions between movements. Each punch was slow and deliberate at first, then gradually faster as his muscles memorized the pattern and his Qi responded more smoothly. Evenings were reserved for meditation and cultivation, reinforcing the internal energy that powered his fists.

Throughout the week, his body ached with unfamiliar strain—muscles burning, joints stiffening—but Linfei welcomed it as the sign of solid progress. The routine became a rhythm he embraced, a path carved from sweat, focus, and quiet resolve.

By the end of the seventh day, Linfei found himself more comfortable within the flow of "Iron Fist Boxing." The strikes felt steadier, the footwork more natural. He still had far to go, but now the technique was no longer foreign—it was becoming a part of him.
