Ahmet woke to a sensation that crawled under his skin and refused to settle. His body refusing to go back to sleep. Usually, he would have hopped into his training wears to train or just exercised when he woke up this early.

The pain in his chest was familiar, and sharp when he inhaled too deeply, dull and throbbing when he stayed still. That pain obeyed rules. It announced itself. It could be measured, endured.
However, this feeling couldn't.
It sat low in his stomach, coiled and restless, like something was wrong and hadn't bothered to explain itself yet. His fingers flexed against the sheets, the fabric cool, untouched by blood. His heartbeat was steady, and his breathing controlled.
Still, unease clung to him.
He stared at the ceiling, jaw tightening.
