Lian unleashed an Air Slash towards the ground as one Genesect had targeted Ninetales. With both Ninetales and Blaziken entering close proximity to the Genesect swarm, being highly threatening Fire-type Pokémon, they inevitably attracted attacks from several Genesects.
The targeted Genesect momentarily halted upon impact with the Air Slash. The force generated by the move struck its steel-like body, producing a metallic collision sound.
This brief interruption gave Blaziken an opportunity to strike. It immediately executed a Blaze Kick, aiming directly at the Genesect.
With legs ablaze, Blaziken forcefully kicked the Genesect, resulting in a loud thud. However, disappointingly, the Genesect did not sustain significant damage. Despite the four-times effectiveness advantage for Fire-type moves, Blaziken's level was too low. Having evolved recently, its strength was still inadequate.
Facing Genesect, possibly Level 60-70, even with a Fire-type move, Blaziken's attack would not deal enough damage to immediately incapacitate it.
However, Lian didn't expect Blaziken to stand up against Genesect alone; its strength was simply too weak, being the least powerful among Kalia's four Pokémon.
All he needed was for Blaziken to momentarily hold off the onslaught. With its Blaze Ability activated, Blaziken's speed would continuously increase, allowing it to barely keep pace with Genesect's attacks.
Additionally, with Lian's assistance, Ninetales could safely activate its Drought Ability, creating a Sunny Day weather effect within the vicinity.
There seemed to be no other Pokémon nearby capable of influencing the weather; otherwise, the sky would have shown signs of change earlier. Currently, it remained clear blue with fluffy clouds.
While waiting for Ninetales' Ability to take effect, several Genesect targeted Lian with their moves, all of which he successfully evaded.
Lian recognized one as the same Genesect from the ninety-ninth floor, now mixed among the swarm and specifically aiming its moves at him.
Lian was speechless; it seemed these Genesect held too much grudge. Instead of focusing on the Ellie Region's Pokémon, they targeted him first.
Ignoring their actions, Lian knew he would defeat all the Genesect soon, rendering them incapable of further combat.
By choosing the rooftop as the battleground, Kentra forced the Ellie Region Trainers to rely solely on Flying-type Pokémon, significantly weakening their overall strength while maximizing the effectiveness of the Genesects' abilities.
While the rooftop provided advantages, it also limited the maneuverability of the Genesect swarm. With them clustered together, any wide-range attack could potentially harm multiple Genesect simultaneously.
The Flying-type Pokémon from the Ellie Region had few range-based moves, as such attacks were rare among flying types. Occasionally, some Trainers' Charizards would unleash Fire Blasts.
However, these Charizards couldn't compare to Lian's mastery. Their Fire Blasts were standard, slow-moving maneuvers. Before reaching the Genesects, they were easily dispersed by coordinated Techno Blasts fired by the swarm, never even landing near their targets.
However, due to their insufficient control, they couldn't regulate the speed and timing of Fire Blast's explosion. If mastered, Genesect would have been decimated by the immense power of multiple Fire Blasts.
Despite these Charizards being only mid-level Trainer tier, there were numerous ones present at the scene. This is because Ellie Region has natural habitats for Charizards, and Charmander is one of the standard starter Pokémon for the Ellie Region's Pokemon League.
Whenever a Charizard attempted Fire Blast, the combined attacks from Genesects immediately dispersed it in mid-air.
As a result, Charizards resorted to using Flamethrower, which they excel at. Although Flamethrower possesses decent power, it is not a wide-range move and could only threaten one or two Genesects at a time.
Moreover, Flamethrower was incapable of instantly defeating a Genesect. Strictly speaking, a regular Charizard's Special Attack Species Value is just 109, making it relatively weak.
With such a base stat, even when combining Flamethrower with its four-times effectiveness multiplier, although currently the most damaging move against Genesect, it still wasn't decisive enough to determine victory.

Genesect's attack capabilities were formidable. As a Normal-Type move with a staggering 200 base power, Self-Destruct held astonishing destructive force, significantly greater than that of Techno Blast.
The battlefield descended into chaos, prompting mid-level trainers to retreat. One unfortunate trainer had ventured too close and was directly impacted by a Genesect's Self-Destruct explosion.
Overwhelmed by the intense shockwave, the trainer coughed blood and instantly lost consciousness. Thankfully, swift intervention prevented them from plummeting further, which could have been catastrophic.
As mid-level trainers retreated, fewer Pokémon remained on the front lines, but this was inevitable; no one would recklessly risk their lives amidst such chaos.
Riding a Pokémon to charge ahead blindly could easily result in getting hit by various attacks, leaving no time for regret.
Although the number of Genesects had significantly decreased, reducing pressure momentarily, the Ellie Region's Pokémon continued to fall like wheat being harvested, overwhelmed by the relentless onslaught.
On another front, Kentra was nearing his limit and had to call upon two additional Genesects for assistance. If he were defeated, losing command over the Genesect swarm would spell disaster. With no other choice, his immediate priority became sustaining the battle.
His Hydreigon skillfully evaded the high-tech Techno Blasts from the two incoming Genesects, granting Kentra a brief respite.
"By doing this, you'll only hasten your defeat," Woody calmly observed. Knowing that Genesect numbers were limited, each pair dispatched against him meant fewer elsewhere on the battlefield.
The battle raged on, while Lian awaited the moment when Drought's effect would kick in.
