*Continuation from last chapter*
"It's like falling into a void, and even though you can feel the things around you along with your body getting slower a bit by bit, you can't do anything. Deactivating my shade doesn't work too because it takes a lot of time." I continued while Shin, who was shocked after hearing my condition, listened.
"It's okay, you still have a great shade and I know you'll someday become a great lord." She said and tried to empathise with me.
And Now That I Think About It… DAMN, IT FEELS WEIRD!!
Since It felt awkward I also tried asking something in return to break the moment, "Okay okay, you're next. Which eye shades do you have?"
"Oh-, They're called, 'The Eyes of Durabell'. It's nothing special, unlike yours. It makes things hard, I mean, increases durability." Shin said while sipping an apple juice box with a straw.
Just when did she get that juice box??
I didn't see her slipping that out. Well, she needs energy, so not like I-
"Hey Reada, what are your thoughts on 'Eye of Salowon'?" Suddenly she asked Reada who was just passing by. He had actually left the classroom just as the lunch break had started and now he is coming back.
"Hey, why are you asking him??" I exclaimed as she asked him. Of course, I don't want others to know that I can't control it!
"He actually knows alot about Shades, so maybe he can help." Shin answered.
"Is it about her?" Reada asked as she finished while shifting his gaze to me.
"Yeah, kind of," She replied, "Now tell me, is it hard to control?"
"Everything is hard for those who can't do and easy for those who can!" He said.
Thank-you!! Like I didn't know that.
"But let me tell you. Idiots can't control it!!" He continued with a sarcastic tone, indirectly directing his words at me while he took his seat.
What's his problem now? Is he trying to mock me cuz I'm reading a book?
Shin also turned her head to me after hearing him. She's probably seeing a face that's trying to suppress its anger.
I just don't want to pick a fight on my very first days here.
Suddenly Reada's expression changed while he was looking at me. He turned surprised for some reason and asked curiously, "Hey, is that the new edition of 'Eye Of Birth'?"
Oh, so he is actually looking at my book.
"So Mr attitude, you're also a bookworm?" I also asked sarcastically, the same way as he had.
"I'm not a bookworm. I just asked cuz I wanted to know, so just tell me if it's the latest one or not!" He replied rudely.
Seriously he's pissing me off now, "Yeah, it's the latest one! So what?!".
"Give it to me, I wanna read it!!" He ordered as if it was his father's book.
"Hey, at least ask me a little politely, don't you know I'm the owner here." I said as I was done with his dismanners. "First ask me respectfully then I'll think about giving it to you."
"Oh? Is that so? Then can you tell me how I can show my respect for you?" His voice suddenly turned polite.
Really?? I hadn't thought he'd accept it so easily. Seems, my words worked.
"Well, I won't mind being addressed as a princess of beauty or something-"
"Just find a nice running truck and run into it." He cut in.
"A-a…? What do you mean?"
"I mean princesses are beautiful, and you ain't, in my eyes."
HUH? HOW CAN HE SAY THAT-
"YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!" I shouted angrily after hearing that, "You Don't Even Know How To Talk To A Girl!!"
"Yeah, I don't. Neither do I want to."
"YOU SHAMELESS BASTARD!! I'LL KILL YOU!!"
And the next thing I felt was Shin hugging me with her arms wrapping around my chest. I realised that I had actually stood up in anger, from my chair and my fist was up, ready to hit him. It was her who stopped me otherwise I would've hit him.
"Okay okay, Alvish. Calm down." Shin said softly.
I Was Calm, He Is The One Who Started Pissing Me Off First! Of course, he is an idiot if he doesn't realise my glow. I guess that's why Glem didn't want me to meet him.
"Miss you can't!" Suddenly that idiot said again while looking straight at me.
"SHUT UP, READA!!" But this time Shin scolded him and shut him up. "DON'T TRY MAKING A SCENE HERE!!"
"DON'T YOU DARE TALK TO ME AGAIN!!" I gave him a warning one last time and with that I cut all the ties we had between us.
Surely, I don't need a person like him, who doesn't respect me.
We never talked after that for the rest of the school time. I was feeling like such an idiot for being interested in a dumbass like him. I had thought he might be having some good sides, even though he has a bad persona around the teachers, but in the end, he was just a body of flesh filled with a bad attitude and ego.
And like that my mood for that day was ruined and school ended.
I was with Shin. We were walking out of the school, the same as yesterday. But as we reached our separation point she suddenly said, "Stop!"
She stopped and so I stopped too. I was confused as to why she asked me to stop all of a sudden, but later I realised that she was actually telling it to Reada, who was apparently passing by. He didn't hear it at first so she called him again and stopped him.
Ugh! Why did she have to stop this mess?
"Why is this mess here?" I asked as his presence started annoying me.
"This is exactly why I stopped him?" Shin said. "Listen! I can't stand your childish fight anymore."
"It's not a fight, Shin." That mess interrupted.
"Yes, it's not. It's a war. A war between an idiot and a princess of beauty!!"
"You know you ain't that, right?"
"JUST REPEAT THAT AGAIN!!"
"QUIT IT ALREADY, YOU TWO!!" Suddenly Shin shouted.
I turned to her as I heard her. She looked very frustrated and now while looking at her face I realise how she must be feeling. Seeing two of her friends fighting in the middle of the road really would be stressful.
It makes me feel sorry…
"Aa- sorry, Shin." I apologetically said, but for some reason that idiot said the same words as me, at the same time too.
I turned and saw him as confused as me regarding it, and suddenly Shin started laughing at us.
"What??" I asked as I again turned to her, and this time too our words matched.
I could see that he was also surprised this time, like me.
"You know? You two are a great couple." Shin laughingly said.
"NO WAY! DON'T SHIP ME WITH THIS MORON!!" Again, we said at the same time.
Agh! Why are our words matching all the time? Gosh! This is annoying!!
"Okay okay, listen, this is exactly why I have stopped you two here," She said while trying to control her laughter, "look! I can't stand it anymore so just make up already." She turned to Reada and continued, "I don't think she will understand, also you were the one who started it, so just apologise to her and end it please."
"Only because you are telling me to, Shin." He said after listening to her and turned to me, "Alvish, I'm sorry for earlier today."
He apologised…
But, What Does He Think? I'll forgive him so damn easily? NO!! I'LL NOT!! It's a matter of my pride!
"Just tell him to die!!" I told Shin and left, right away.
I arrived home with that exasperation of him and as I entered I saw mom. She was there, standing after the entrance, welcoming me with a smile.
"Welcome home, dear. So, how was school? And how was Reada??" She asked as I entered.
Just why does everyone have to ask about him?
"School was fine, but He… Is An Idiot!!" I replied with narrowed irritated eyes, and went up, to my room.
She must have been surprised by that but I don't care! I'm not in the mood to explain.
I spent the time after that in my room. I didn't go for lunch or anything else, I just spent it all on my bed. But later mom came to my room, till which my rage had run down a bit.
I can understand she must be worried about me since I didn't eat lunch, and also I was in a bad mood earlier. I got up and sat on my bed as she came in.
"Now tell me, what happened? Did he do something??" She asked in a concerned voice while taking a seat next to me on the bed.
"He… he is an idiot, he called me ugly!!" I said slowly while looking down.
I was expecting her to comfort me but she started laughing instead.
"Whatt- Is That A Joke To You? Whose side are you on??" I asked, but she didn't listen and stood up.
"Oh, come on! Stop being so childish and quit with your princess complex already." She laughingly said as she went to the door, "Seems I was worried for nothing. And come down, dinner's ready!"
"Wait! What do you mean, childish? I'm no child! I'm mature!!"
But she didn't listen and went out.
At the end I had to go for dinner, because I was hungry.
Of course, I'll not just harm my health because of an IDIOT!!
And the day passed…
The next day,
Even though I had thought of starting the day with a fresh mood and had tried forgetting everything that had happened, the first thing I saw after coming out of my home was his face. I was going to school but seeing that idiot just ruined my mood again.
I Hate Him! Why Did He Have To Come Out At The Same Time As Me?
I hadn't invited him today, nor that I ever will again!! But when I started walking he started following me.
"Hey, quit stalking me!!" I said in irritation. For some reason his presence just annoys me now.
"Come on, Alvish, I'm just walking my way to school."
Suddenly a weird but familiar song started playing behind me. It attracted me so I turned around to see the source of it.
"It's my phone," Reada said as he saw me turning around, while pulling his phone out of his pocket.
And I realised it was his ringtone.
"Oh! Don't wait for me. Go ahead." He continued.
"Like, I was ever about to, Idiot!"
I left and didn't wait for him.
Of course, why would I even?
But now that I look behind, after having walked for a moment, he actually isn't following me anymore.
*dump*
I faltered as I accidentally bumped into someone. But I managed to stay balanced and didn't fall. It was a boy that I had bumped into. He was taller than me, had a big wide chest and a solid muscled body. He looked more like a senior, a highschool graduate to be exact, and a Gym guy. But anyways, hopefully he didn't fall either.
"Sorry, my pardon!!" I apologised with a little bow and continued on my way to school. But suddenly he grabbed my arm from behind and stopped me.
"Pardons ain't enough, pay me back for the damage!!" He said while holding my wrist.
What? Damage??
"Just what kind of damage do you think a body like mine would do to yours?" I said while turning around. But after turning around I saw his other hand, which was pointing at an ice cream cone, with its ice cream spilled over the road.
Oh, so it's the ice cream he was talking about!
Fuc- who in the hell eats ice cream at this time of the day??
Also I don't have any money on me, at this point, to pay him back.
"Aa… I'm sorry again, I guess, actually I don't have any cash on me at the moment, so I can't pay you!!" I apologised again while hoping he would let me go.
But instead he tightened his grip.
"YOU REALLY THINK I'LL JUST LET YOU GO WITH THAT!!" He shouted in anger, while frowningly looking at me with his wide open eyes.
It crumpled even the soul in me. He was so angry that even his veins had become visible.
Just what is wrong with him? Anger issues?? Or was that ice cream really that important to him?
"I- I… will… pay you back… just give me your contact…!" I said timidly with my eyes shut and face turned to the other side, trying not to look at him.
"Hey hey, now that I look at you, you are actually pretty cute!" He suddenly said calmly this time.
I quickly opened my eyes after hearing that voice of his. I was surprised because it wasn't a voice you would expect to be coming out of an angry person.
His expressions looked unexpectedly different this time. He wasn't angry anymore, rather he was admiring me like a little kid does when he sees something beautiful for the first time in his life. Something that pleases his eyes and heart.
What Just Happened??
Did he fall for me?
"You Know? You can actually pay me back in another way. You know? We can just-" He continued and this time his voice and expressions changed again. He started getting closer to me in a lustful way, and this time I understood what he was talking about.
"No, leave me!!" I resisted and tried getting away from him while trying to free my arm from his grip. But it just got tighter and tighter, to the point that I couldn't do anything.
He was looking at me like a drooling dog looking at a bone. It was terrifying.
What should I do? Use my shade??
But that would just extend the time of this nightmare.
"That's a pretty good plot for a doujin!!" Suddenly a joyful voice said from behind that boy. It felt a little familiar that it caught my attention, so I looked past him.
That boy had also heard it, so he also turned his head around to see who it was, and it was Reada. He was standing a bit afar from us, with his hands in his pockets and his long hair blocking his view while he was looking down.
"NOW WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM??" That boy shouted as he saw him standing there.
"My problem is you not letting her go!"
"And what if I won't?" That boy asked and changed the hand he was holding me with, from right to left, and turned to Reada.
"Then I'll beat you until your soul cries!" Reada replied and lifted his face up. And as he did that a sudden gust of wind blew his hair, making his face visible, like a scene out of an anime. He looked very excited as his eyes were wide open and he had a big grin, which was even bigger than the one I had seen yesterday, at school.
He walked up to us and grabbed that boy's arm, with which he was holding me, and said calmly, "let her go, already."
That boy, he finally let my arm go, but he grabbed Reada's collar instead.
"Rather You Are Brave Or An Idiot!!" He said to him in a hissed voice.
"Or rather I'm stronger!!" Reada replied
