The explosion dissipated, and the battle was over.
After a single meeting, all three of them were beaten to the ground by Evan. The Hydreigon soaring in the sky crashed to the ground, while Dragonite returned to Evan's side. Evan glanced at the three people and then shifted his gaze to Dragonite.
"What happened?" he asked.
Dragonite was speechless. You knocked them all down. If their Pokémon hadn't come out in time to block it, the three of them would have been died. And now you're asking what happened? Observing the scene on the battlefield, Dragonite couldn't hide his exasperation but relayed the events without hesitation.
"Woo~!!"
"Pika pika!"
"Lura~!"
"Pidgeot!"
The Pokémon quickly shared the story in fragmented explanations. After listening to them, Evan frowned slightly. "So, you're saying that when they saw Lurantis and Pidgeot, they planned to capture them? Then, when you appeared, they got even more excited and released Hydreigon to fight you. Finally, you called me over."
After hearing the explanation, Evan nodded, immediately understanding the situation. "I see. They're poachers, aren't they?" His voice hardened. "Definitely."
"Alright, Gardevoir, you and Lurantis head back before carving them up. Gallade and Dragonite, stay here with me."
With that, Evan called the police. Even if these people weren't confirmed poachers, their attempt to steal his Pokémon made them as good as poachers in his eyes. He couldn't tolerate such actions. Without hesitation, he dialed the authorities, explaining the situation: three poachers had attempted to steal his Pokémon. If not for his strength, they might have succeeded.
After sharing the location of the incident, the officer on the line sighed and replied, "Understood. We've already received reports about a disturbance in the forest. Please stay where you are. Our team is on the way and will reach you shortly."
Evan nodded. "Alright, that works." He hung up and waited, reassured that the authorities were already aware.
The police moved quickly, and before long, a group of officers arrived. The leader, a young man who seemed to carry an air of authority, surveyed the scene and was immediately struck by the presence of Evan's Dragonite and Gallade.
"Such powerful Pokémon," he muttered before addressing Evan. "What happened here?"
Evan pointed at the unconscious trio and their Pokémon. "Poachers."
The officer's eyes hardened. "Poachers?" Disgust flickered across his face. No trainer could condone such despicable acts.
Evan nodded and remained silent, allowing the officers to proceed with their work. As more trainers gathered around, drawn by the commotion, the incident began to draw considerable attention.
After learning that those people were poachers, no one showed them the slightest bit of pity. In fact, some people thought Evan had gone easy on them. It's considered lenient if you don't break their legs or something, a few trainers muttered among themselves.
Hearing their remarks, Evan felt a mix of numbness and exasperation. If those poachers hadn't tried to block him, he thought, I would've dealt with them all in one swoop. Still, he kept his complaints to himself, choosing not to explain anything further.
As the crowd settled, many eyes turned to Evan's Pokémon—Dragonite, Gallade, and Charizard. It was clear that Evan was a formidable Trainer, and his rare and powerful Pokémon only added to his mystique. Fascinated by his lineup, several trainers approached Evan, eager to strike up a conversation and get to know him better.
In response, Evan silently pulled out a few business cards and handed them out, suggesting they could reach out to him if they had time. However, his gesture seemed to have the opposite effect. The trainers' enthusiasm quickly fizzled out as they assumed Evan was merely a part-timer showing off someone else's Pokémon. There aren't many of those types around, but I guess he's one of them, they whispered among themselves.
Evan noticed their reactions, and the corners of his mouth twitched in mild irritation. Are you blind? Did you even look at the business card? he thought, resisting the urge to voice his frustration. Instead, he muttered inwardly, Simply incredible.
Amid the chatter, one boy stepped forward and looked at Evan curiously. "Um, Evan, are you the owner of this breeding house?"
Hearing the question, Evan nodded. "Yes, I am the owner," he replied. "If you need anything, you can come to me anytime. My business card has the address of my breeding house."
Unlike the others, this boy seemed genuinely interested, which caught Evan by surprise. When Evan handed him a card, the boy's face lit up.
"Oh! By the way, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Tanner." After introducing himself, Tanner immediately began asking Evan about his breeding house.
"Evan, since you're a breeder, you probably know where I can get customized top-quality energy cubes, right? I need some tailored to specific Pokémon types. I've checked with a lot of breeders, but none of them could take on the job."
As he spoke, Tanner sighed. He had been searching everywhere for Top-tier energy cubes but had no luck. Meeting Evan, a skilled breeder, felt like his last hope.
Evan raised an eyebrow at the request. "You're looking for top-notch customized energy cubes?" he asked, his tone curious. "You know those are incredibly expensive, right?"
"At least it starts at 500,000 Pokédollars for one month," Tanner added matter-of-factly.
Evan blinked, momentarily confused. This guy didn't look like someone swimming in money. A customized top-tier energy cube, just like that? Evan thought. Are you trying to brag to me, kid?
But Tanner nodded confidently. "I know it's expensive," he said, unfazed. "But even if I have the money, that doesn't mean I can buy it."
He continued, his tone serious. "I've searched countless breeding houses, even the top-tier ones. They do offer top-Tier energy cubes, but there's always a long queue. Only master breeders at their headquarters can handle the orders, and I don't even know where I rank on the waiting list."
He sighed, adding, "Right now, my Pokémon only use advanced energy blocks. I want to switch to the top-tier ones."
Hearing this, Evan studied Tanner carefully. This guy seems a little too easygoing to be serious. But wait... is he actually rich? Evan couldn't help but rethink his initial impression. It's true what they say—you can't judge a book by its cover.
Still, Evan recognized the opportunity in front of him. This could be a great customer. With that realization, he made up his mind, keeping his thoughts to himself. Alright, let's see where this goes.
