After satisfying her anger by burning a couple hundred Team Rocket members, Latias stopped firing Dragon Pulses.
She noticed a few Team Rocket grunts trying to escape on flying Pokémon. They used the smoke and chaos as cover. Their faces showed pure panic.
Latias spoke directly into their minds. Her voice was soft but cold, like ice in their thoughts. 'Now now. We cannot let you escape, can we?'
The grunts froze. Their Pokémon wobbled in the air. One man felt his head ache like someone squeezed his brain. Another saw flashes of his own fears. A woman heard whispers of every bad thing she had done.
Latias wanted to tell them that she could have instantly killed them. She wanted the criminals to know that the legendary dragon could break their minds without moving.
And She chose not to. She wanted them to feel how small they were. She wanted to make them fear so that the others who decided to mess with them and Gladion would think twice about it.
The flying Pokémon landed roughly. Riders fell to their knees and did not try to run again.
Latias though shot a bright beam of psychic energy that split into four cardinal directions and landed on the ground. The energy then formed walls around the area.
Gladion watched from Elder Green's back. "You could do that?" he thought in shock.
Latias had turned Light Screen into a giant dome barrier. It rose from four points on the ground and met high in the sky. Yellow walls blocked every direction, even upward. No one could fly out. It looked like the unbreakable barrier that the sound four had used to trap Hiruzen with Orichimaru in Naruto, just yellow.
'Well, this makes sure no one escapes,' Gladion thought. He looked outside the barrier. Indigo officials and soldiers arrived fast. Reporters followed close behind on their own flying Pokémon.
Gladion shook his head. "These reporters are everywhere. They really take breaking news seriously."
He could already seen their cameras were zoominf on Latios and Latias. Flashes lit the sky.
'The secret is out now,' Gladion thought with strong determination in his eyes. 'And I am ready for whatever comes next.'
Latios used Psychic on the last escaping flyers. Invisible force pressed them down hard. Pokémon and riders hit the ground with thuds. None got up.
Lance watched everything as he took had come to raze team rocket base to the ground. His alpha Dragonite stood beside him with head lowered.
"Is that Latios and Latias? The Eon duo?" Lance whispered. "Gym Leader Gladion has two legendary dragon types on his team?"
He could not believe his eyes. Dragonite, the strongest dragon he knew, showed respect by lowering his head. Lance felt the same. Gladion had hidden this power all this time. One young trainer commanded dragons that even clans dreamed of touching.
Lance thought about the future. "The Clan will not stay quiet after this. I will have to prepare before the elders do something unforgiving."
Agatha stood with Koga outside the barrier. She stared at the two legendaries and shook her head.
"Oi, Koga," she said. "I think I am ready to retire. The new generation does not need old ghosts like me. That brat has two legendaries. TWO! When I die and become a Gastly, I will haunt that boy until he tells me every single secret that he has."
Koga stayed silent, but his eyes showed surprise.
Sabrina had joined the attack force when she heard Gladion went alone to attack team rocket base and also as her duty as the gym leader. She watched from the edge of the barrier.
'He never told me about them,' she thought. 'He still keeps big secrets from me. When we were younger I pestered him every day until he told me everything. His favourite candy. His worst fear. I was so annoying he finally gave in. Looks like I need to start pestering again.'
She smiled at the memory. "He used to turn red and run away when I asked too many questions. Time to bring back annoying Sabrina."
She looked at the reporters already filming. 'More importantly, I hope Gladion is ready. He revealed the existence of Mega Evolution two days ago. He also revealed how he and his Pokemon could stall a legendary. Everyone was still talking about that. Now he shows two legendaries. Indigo will not sleep for weeks. No, this would have consequences beyond Indigo.'
Everyone who were thinking of their next move, or what Gladion having two legendaries meant stopped. Their eyes widened and turned to the base.
Latios had focused his power. Blue aura glowed around the entire above-ground building and the earth under it. The structure shook. Metal groaned. Then the whole base lifted off the ground. Tons of concrete, steel, and rock rose into the air like a toy.
Team Rocket members inside screamed. Pokémon howled. The building turned slowly.
Latios threw it. Latias opened one side of the barrier.
The base flew hundreds of metres through the gap and crashed into a far hill. It broke apart on impact. Walls collapsed. Roofs fell in. Dust rose in a giant cloud. Broken metal and rock scattered everywhere. Small fires started from broken machines.
No one inside could have survived and everyone who watched got the message,'To not mess with Gladion and his team.'
