Chapter 574: Seven-Star Dou Zun, Hun Yu
"Divine Lightning Wolf!"
Looking at the tangible form of the lightning, Mo Yu raised an eyebrow, his face lighting up with joy.
In the Fallen Heart Flame ranking, the fourteenth-ranked Fallen Heart Flame was an intangible Fire Python, but by the time it reached the ninth-ranked Three Thousand Burning Flame, it had evolved into a tangible Fire Dragon. This showed that whether it was thunder or fire, once they could take on a solid, beast-like form, it represented a major qualitative leap.
The Divine Lightning Wolf was a prime example of this. If the ordinary Divine Lightning could only rank thirteenth on the Mysterious Thunder List, after absorbing the full power of the Ancient Thunder Wolf's lightning, this evolved version of Divine Lightning Wolf could easily rank in the top six. Its power now rivaled that of the Primordial Thunder.
Seeing this, Mo Yu was delighted. With a wave of his hand, the towering Thunder Wolf turned into a bolt of lightning and obediently returned to his body.
As soon as the Divine Lightning Wolf returned to Mo Yu's body, the immense energy of the Mysterious Thunder began to flood his meridians and limbs. Simultaneously, a powerful aura emanated from Mo Yu, spreading outward.
Sensing the sudden surge in Mo Yu's aura, Cai Lin and the others exchanged glances, all of them looking towards the young man now surrounded by lightning.
"His aura has increased a lot. Has he broken through to the Seven-Star Dou Zun?" Cai Lin murmured softly as she felt Mo Yu's growing strength.
"Haha, the speed at which Lord Mo Yu advances is truly astonishing," the Starfall Pavilion sighed in admiration. Even for the continent's veteran experts, reaching this level would take nearly all their time and energy. Yet Mo Yu had achieved it at such a young age.
Moreover, they knew that Mo Yu's combat strength wasn't as simple as it seemed on the surface.
The elders of the Flower Sect also nodded in awe. When they first met Mo Yu, he was only a Five-Star Dou Zun. In less than two years, he had already advanced to a point where one foot was about to step into the saint level. Such speed left even seasoned cultivators feeling inferior.
Meanwhile, Yun Yun's beautiful eyes were fixed on the domineering figure in the sky. A trace of bewilderment flickered in her gaze. This youth, once a boy from the Magic Beast Mountain Range, had come this far, exceeding everyone's expectations.
Electricity crackled across the mountaintop before it spread out in a wave of thunder.
As the lightning dissipated, the figure in the sky gradually calmed. With a smile, Mo Yu descended gracefully, turning into a streak of light as he headed towards the group below.
"Congratulations, Cousin Mo Yu," Xiao Yan said with a light chuckle as Mo Yu approached with a smile.
"Just a lucky breakthrough," Mo Yu replied with a grin, stretching his body. The powerful feeling inside him was far stronger than before. Though he had only broken through two ranks, he was now much closer to the saint level.
What excited Mo Yu the most was that not only had he reawakened the Divine Lightning, but it had also evolved into the Divine Lightning Wolf, with power comparable to the top six on the Mysterious Thunder List. With the addition of the Divine Lightning Wolf, the power of the next lightning orb Mo Yu fused would increase significantly. This would pose a deadly threat even to saint-level experts.
After chatting for a while, Mo Yu's gaze shifted to the depths of the Ancient Wilderness, his eyes narrowing. "We've already delayed several days. It's time to hurry to the Ancient Domain Platform. If we're too late, it won't be good."
"Right," Cai Lin and the others nodded in agreement. Over the past few days, nearly ten groups had passed by, all clearly heading for the Ancient Domain Platform. By now, it was likely packed with powerful individuals.
"Let's move quickly," Mo Yu said, knowing time was short. With a wave of his hand, he led Cai Lin and the others forward. Xiao Yan, Yun Yun, and the rest followed closely behind.
Mo Yu and his group were quite far from the Ancient Domain Platform, so they increased their pace as they journeyed.
Along the way, they encountered other forces, though most of them were relatively unknown and rarely mentioned in ordinary times. Despite their low profile, these sects weren't weak, with some harboring top-tier experts, including one who was half a step into the saint level.
However, these forces were not much of a challenge for the three allied forces led by Mo Yu. Without much difficulty, they traveled swiftly and, after about two days, neared the Ancient Domain Platform.
The Ancient Domain Platform was said to have once been an ancient battlefield, where many powerful warriors had perished. The residual pressure in the area made it a place where even fierce beasts dared not tread. Located at the junction of the central and deeper parts of the Ancient Wilderness, the platform served as the safest rest stop, which was why so many factions had chosen it as their base.
After traveling for another ten minutes, Mo Yu's group spotted a huge plaza appearing in the wilderness. They were momentarily surprised, and when they saw the massive crowd gathered on the plaza, they realized this must be the Ancient Domain Platform.
"Everyone, be careful," Mo Yu warned.
"Understood." The others nodded in agreement.
In the blink of an eye, they arrived at the plaza. Their appearance drew some attention, but it quickly faded. Many other groups and strong individuals had arrived at the platform during this time, so their arrival was nothing unusual.
Taking advantage of the brief pause, Mo Yu led Cai Lin and the others towards the center of the plaza. As they walked, Xiao Yan observed their surroundings.
Mo Yu glanced at Xiao Yan's actions and, after a moment of thought, understood his intentions. The Bodhi Heart and Bodhi Seed were incredibly valuable for the younger generation who had reached the peak of Dou Zun, with the potential to help them break through and become Dou Shengs. Even the eight ancient clans wouldn't miss the opportunity to claim these treasures, and Xiao Yan was undoubtedly searching for Xun Er.
With her status in the ancient clan, Xun Er would certainly be sent to try for the Bodhi Tree's treasure.
Thinking of this, Mo Yu scanned the area as well. He wondered if the Thunder Clan would send anyone. If younger members of the Thunder Clan had come, he wondered if Lei Fei'er would be among them.
If Lei Fei'er did come, it would only add to Mo Yu's headaches. The tension between Yun Yun and Xiao Yixian was already difficult to handle, and if his wife Lei Fei'er joined the mix, things would get even more complicated…
As they walked deeper into the plaza, the striking beauty of Cai Lin, Yun Yun, and Xiao Yixian attracted plenty of attention, though most were cautious not to act on their impulses. Many factions had gathered here, and most kept their wits about them. However, a few lewd glances caused the women's faces to harden with displeasure.
Mo Yu let out a cold snort, and Qing Zhi immediately unleashed a powerful aura. Instantly, the brazen stares turned into expressions of fear and awe.
"A semi-saint!"
Even though the Bodhi Tree had drawn many powerful individuals, including peak Dou Zuns, a saint-level expert was still a supreme presence. Those who had dared to stare earlier now looked at Mo Yu's group with cautious respect, afraid of provoking them.
Mo Yu sneered at their cowardice. A group of bullies who preyed on the weak but feared the strong.
As they continued, Mo Yu noticed that the closer they got to the center of the plaza, the stronger the groups became. Those on the outskirts were clearly the weaker ones.
After a while, they reached the center and spotted a massive stone platform, hundreds of meters wide and two meters tall. A smaller group stood atop the platform, but their auras were all incredibly powerful.
Mo Yu glanced over the platform, his gaze settling on a man in black, casually chatting with some powerful figures from unknown factions.
The man had long black hair flowing down his back, giving him a carefree and unrestrained look. His face was pale and delicate, exuding a refined elegance.
He seemed like someone who could easily win people's favor, but Mo Yu sensed something familiar from him.
He was from the Soul Clan.
As Mo Yu studied the black-clad man, the man seemed to notice. He turned his head and smiled warmly at Mo Yu.
Mo Yu's eyes narrowed at the seemingly friendly smile, his mind racing to recall where he had seen this man before. Just then, a familiar voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Brother Xiao Yan, Cousin Mo Yu, it's been a while…"
The voice belonged to a girl in colorful robes, radiating a noble aura. Who else could it be but Xun Er?
"Ah, Cousin Xun Er, you're here," Mo Yu greeted with a smile after a brief moment of surprise.
Xiao Yan had already rushed forward, grabbing Xun Er's hand despite her bashful expression.
After a few quiet words with Xiao Yan, Xun Er raised her head and looked towards the black-robed man Mo Yu had been watching, her expression turning serious.
"That man is Hun Yu," she said in a low voice. "His name may sound like a woman's, but he's definitely a man. The Soul Clan is an ancient race, and their internal competition is brutal. The losers often meet tragic fates."
"Hun Yu has never lost. Every rival he's faced has fallen. What's more, he has a divine bloodline of the Soul Clan," Xun Er added gravely.
"Hun Yu, with a divine bloodline, huh?" Mo Yu raised an eyebrow, recalling the man's identity.
"Unlike other Soul Clan members who come straight at you with violence, Hun Yu seems friendly, but deep down, he's extremely vicious," Xun Er warned, her tone cautious.
Mo Yu nodded slowly. Though Hun Yu appeared harmless, he posed no real threat to him. Mo Yu had long viewed all members of the Soul Clan as enemies to be eradicated.
After all, no snowflake in an avalanche is innocent. The Soul Clan had thrived for years by devouring the bloodlines of other races. Even if some hadn't committed atrocities themselves, they were still complicit in the clan's actions. If they could enjoy the benefits, they had to be prepared for the consequences.
As Mo Yu pondered, Hun Yu suddenly spoke from the stone platform, his voice clear and resonant.
"Our goal is the Bodhi Tree deep in the Ancient Wilderness. But none of us can breach the beast horde alone."
"The only chance we have is to join forces and form an alliance. Only by combining our strength can we tear through the defenses. Otherwise, the Bodhi Tree will remain out of reach."
"Oh, so Hun Yu wants to unite everyone here to charge the beast horde together," Mo Yu mused, narrowing his eyes.
It was clear Hun Yu planned to use everyone as cannon fodder.
Still, despite Mo Yu's suspicions, many people nodded in agreement. Whatever his motives, Hun Yu was right about one thing: no single faction could make it through the beast horde alone. If they wanted to reach the tree, they would have to join forces.
After a brief moment of thought, Mo Yu didn't object. After all, to get the Bodhi Tree, they first had to survive the beast horde.
