The Red Sash Pirates walked cautiously across the Second Swale across from Stand 13. The Swale was Flexible in its Terrain. Many bumps meant that there were places for people to lie low if they were normal height. But it made for quickly spotting anything large. Any Marines that they assumed could be hard to see.
All of the Crew had their Heads on a Swivel. Looking around carefully. Jeanne using her goggles, and Eddie was being observant with his Soul Powers and Sixth Sense Ability. They all kept a lookout. But nothing was spotted.
Even Eddie wasn't able to Sense the Presence of Murausagi. Perhaps due to distance. Still there was an Air of Silence amongst them the island. From this distance, the sound of the battles that were on going weren't able to be heard
Still. Leroy felt something, Something strange. It was just one of those feelings of impending doom. Like the calm before a storm. Like smelling smoke of a Fire that can't be seen. The quickening of his heart, that flutter in the heart. As if there's airiness in your chest. That moment of a wash of cold over the body followed by the occasion cool bead of sweat despite the body not being hot. Preparing itself for intense physical activity
The moments before the body's flight, fight, freeze kicks in. Where you're aware that its about to happen but can't quite nail down when or why. Just that it will. And you've gotta decide quick how you're going to deal with that.
"So…Uh heheh…What uh. What do you think they'll send after us?" Noir asked with a weary smile, cigarette in his lips
"Well. The Old Guy didn't say anything about who. Just that it would be something terrible." Kale mentioned a tight grip on Jager. Dezzi anxiously rubbed at the vial in their bag.
"Yes. But, I feel that probably the best course of action for the crime you have just committed, Leroy-" Raven began. "Would most likely be to send an Admiral."
She continues to explain "Admirals. The Peak of Militaristic Force that the world has to offer. Greater than most likely than any force on the Planet. The Peak of them all…These Admirals. The Three of Them. Murausagi, Kuroryu, and Nokotori. Along with the Fleet Admiral Muromachi, are all the beck and call to not just the World Government. But to Individuals of the Celestial Dragons."
"Its often thought, and is most likely the case, That the Admirals are Essentially the Bodyguards of the Elite. Sure they are soldiers. But given the Authority the Dragons have over them, though this knowledge is extremely unknown, that this conclusion is not an Unreasonable one."
"But certainly not the whole truth?" Calliope Asked "Precisely. At the end of the Day. The Dragons are the Gods of the World. In the form of sway and say that is. But Marines are still Marines. They have a prime objective outside of that."
"Which is?" Leroy asks
"Status Quo. No matter what it is. The Current State of the World, and the Interest of the World Government must be upheld at all cost. This is their justice. Because it also comes with the benefit of 'Peace'. Those that Benefit from and Live Directly under that Status Quo are to be protected. But they are not the main objective. Just the concept is."
"Heh." Leroy chuckled "Kinda figured that one out. But you really put it into words. No wonder people like them or say they're necessary even if they don't like it. That's just the way things are to them. They can not like them all they want. But they Paradoxically rely on them all the same. Right?"
"That is the case for most of the World that is Allied with or under the World Government."
"Heh." Kale chortled "All this Talk of Politics is Boring. I have no interest in it myself. But I'll say this outfront. I'll follow you, Captain, wherever you go. You've got good enough sense to choose the right option. And I'll trust that decision."
"I know a bit about this stuff. But definitely not as much as it seems Raven does." Kirk said "Yeah. Same." Jeanne said as she was hotly focused on scouting. Kirk Continued
"But it is included in the topic. I care about people like me and their Livelihood. That's what I care about when it comes to this kinda talk. And Leroy has shown well enough that he's the man for it." Dezzi nodded along. They were the same as well. Though not as stead focused on Humanitarian and 'Rights'.
"Well Lucky me I guess!" Leroy said "I care about all that stuff. But I think I need to learn more about it. I've got plenty of Experience in handling it and seeing it first hand. But I think it's bout time I actually read about it ya know?" He smiled cheekily with his hands behind his back
But, just as the Crew were about to relax ever so slightly from the shared moment of Comradery and Trust. Something abrupt ceased the others from adding into general agreement in the conversation-
"Shit!" Leroy Shouted as his head whipped to the side! Watching as something zipped through the air! It was a sudden attack! Too Fast for him to process but it was the very sudden disturbance, mere moments before it happened that his body kicked into action!
An Explosion, Spherical and Hot Radiated around a fire meter radius in the middle of the Group! Quickly, Leroy, Kale and Noir Reacted to the Expanding Fireball by grabbing those that were nearest and moving them out of the Way! Either by carrying or pushing!
"Wah!" A group of Screams was Released as many of the crew shouted. Kale had Raven and Dezzi in his arms. While Noir had Jeanne. Calliope rolling across the ground as she had enough reaction speed to catch a glimpse of the fireballs movement
Leroy had Kirk in his arm, while Eddie had Leapt backwards!
"Holy Shit! What the Hell was that?!" Kirk said looking to the burn hole then up to the Captain.
"Over there! Fuck!" Calliope Shouted as Jeanne was still recovering from the sudden rattle. "Oh no…"
Over the Horizon. Coming towards them, Was Benjamin Condent!
