Chapter 516 - The Reach of a Cuttlefish

The Radio call out again after the person on the other end reads out the Report "Thank you again Ika. You can make your way back to base whenever you wish."

A High Pitched feminine voice that seemed to almost have a electronic or Faint 'Metallic' shrill spoke back "Okay! I will probably start heading back to base soon. I still need to talk with a group of people who are still quite suspicious of the Militia."

"Alright. Stay safe out there Ika!" The voice spoke back "Will do, S!" The woman then slid the large antenna back into the device, ceasing transmittable signals

"I think this would be much more easy to accomplish if Cagney was here…" The woman said, rubbing her head. Blue bangs falling in front of her face for a moment, but her smile never leaving her face

She wore a dark blue Trench Coat on her shoulders that clung around her frame, beneath could still be visible of a skirt that was 'Ragged' and had holes in it. A remnant of her original tunic-esque dress she once wore. Using it now more as a reminder and accessory that attached to her pouched belt atop much more clean and modern.

As for pants she liked to recently experiment given finally being able to have the ability to actually dress herself how she wished, she wore leggings that were beige in color, which was a stark contrast to her near gray white skin. It had thin lines that went horizontally across the fabric and looked almost like wrapped bandages

Former Name: Fabela Ada. Now known as: Ika

'The Aquanaut'

Bounty: 0

Position in The Militia Movement: Officer

Ika was a, for lack of a better term, Strange individual. Not just in personality of never being seen with a frown in any non-serious situation, but in that 90% of her organic matter was replaced by highly advanced synthetic material. Turning her into a Cyborg

Her skull was a titanium alloy that literally embedded into her skull and reinforced the bone, giving her face an almost welded look. A line directly from her hairline, then to her nose where two upside down arches underline her vibrant blue eyes to the ends of her face, where another set of parallel lines went down the middle of these curves with two pairs of circles on the outside which was where the plating was attached into synth-muscle and skull beneath

Lips were a vibrant blue as if covered with lipstick but were permanently colored such. Ears were pointed and a stark shiny silver with red dots and what seemed to be speakers on them that replaced a canal for a real ear

Fingers segmented with metal visible within, same with her joints at her knees, hips, elbows, and wrists. With one final detail of her synthetic body being just above her cleavage sits was a triangular piece of metal with a glass circle in that exposed her heart if one looks closely. A blue ether squid emblem sitting just above it. This was usually covered by the jacket but currently the trench coat was let open at her neck

Finally, yellow lensed goggles with brown straps wat on her head, while a large glass bottle filled with salt water. About 10 gallons worth strapped with leather and hung from one shoulder, and sat on the hip of the other. A few unique fish sat within, as she was a Marine Biologist she actively collected specimens for study from all her journeys

She knocked on the door of a small shack house on stand 35. Where an old man known as Joseph a communal leader that was quite against her presence when she first arrived nearly 2 weeks prior to the Isle of Desamare on the Behest of the Militia Movement

Typically, when it came to missions like this, squads and groups would be sent. Seeing as how all members of the Militia that weren't labeled as Civilians were trained to some degree as Fighters (Under their own Consent) meant that there was no distinction between Soldier, Doctor, and Scholar. Allowing for everyone in the group to be both valuable in their own skills but also able to handle themselves

Within the movement, anyone that proves themselves above the Rank of Officer have the ability to gain the title of 'Chief Officer' in which the join the group known as 'The Vanguard' a group within the Militia that serves as a body of Delegates and Representatives for other parts of the Militia and the Civil Masses on islands they are stationed at.

Essentially, Members that have a firm understanding of the Political goals of the Militia on top of their skill set with both leadership capabilities and being able to teach others

These individuals are the ones sent solo, as not only are they often as a fact of the world tend to be quite physically powerful, but to reduce potential risk of putting inexperienced Members into situations of first contact that need to be handled with delicacy

Which Ika was currently working towards becoming

"Oh. It's you." The man with old wrinkled skin and large handlebar mustache spoke. A hunch in his back "It is me!" Ika said in a grin. Looking up to the man who even hunched stood head and shoulders above her

"Best not waste my time Extremist" The house was two room, bedroom and then a large open room with a wooden table and people that she'd seen from around the town before

"Hi!" Ika said with a wave to Jane, a short haired older middle aged woman who was slightly overweight who Ika had helped in her garden. Jane couldn't help but smile back and wave, though given the seriousness, begrudgingly

"Sit." Joseph said as he sat. And ika did so.

Quickly and all at once it seemed that everyone began to speak over one another. Words of worry, of doubt, suspicion, and the likes. Others of curiosity and wonder. And then vague general question that caused her to recoil backwards and close her eyes, head wobbling from the overload

"Okay…Uh. I think I got Most of that." Ika said as she rose a hand "Lets um. Start simply I suppose?"

"What is the Militia." Jane asked "The Revolutionary Militia Movement is a group of individuals with unique skills and persons that make up a Mass movement that hope to represent the will of the Masses around the world in hopes to create a better, just world through effort and the labor of the workers around the world."

"Workers? Not everyone is workers." Joseph retorted "Well, under the current world. Yes. Everyone is a worker in the eyes of those that lead the world. Look around, even if you run a business that is only for you, that economy benefits overall those above you. The people that run this island, any island that is unfair, or even the likes of the world government."

"We are labeled as workers because to them as shown time again, we are nothing but cogs in a machine to grow both their wealth and their power and influence. By the Militia labeling the peoples of the world as workers, is in the understanding of what they wish to view us as and to expose that. Not in a demeaning and derogatory way to say that we must be workers." Ika continued with a smile

"Okay. And? Yeah it sucks but its the best we got. It might not be fair but life aint fair." Another man called Nick said back "But only because we're told that, and accept that. Not to say that we alone have the power to change and redefine that, but together we do. As a mass, as the people of the world we have the power to change and define the world of which we live!"

"It is not the best we have. There is much better alternatives that can be seen all throughout history, the very proof in this matter is in how those of the world government have continued to suppress that information and sabotage those movements at every turn. If they weren't going to work, why go through the trouble of hiding it? Destroying it? Why not allow the people to understand it to better avoid it? The only answer is-"

"That its a threat to them."

All of them looked to one another with various degrees of suspicion, understanding and also deliberation of internal conflict before the final woman that was there, a younger woman named Max with long braided hair then asked.

"Okay. But- How do we know that any of this will work? How can we trust you?"

Ikas smile faltered for a moment. She wanted to be trusted. And to help people be free. Especially after all that had happened not only with her…recently accepted 'other' half and previous life. But all of Styrene. With a quick move, she unclasped the Log Pose on her wrist and pulled the knife from her hip and put them on the table

"This. This is why." She said as she ran a finger over the blade "Its from a dear friend. This is proof of our work. The Sacrafice that some have undertaken to allow for all of us to continue our work for not only ourselves but for the peoples of the world."

Her hand stopped as she starred in contemplation for many moments. Causing all to lean in. Silence only broken by Joseph who asked one simple question

"And just what exactly is that?" They all looked at her. Ika in turn looked up at them, smile coming back across her face

"Liberation."
