"Modern technology... and so many monsters. But it seems like Yoko, Naruto, and the others can handle it, so there shouldn't be a problem," Kahn said as he watched the screens flash across the trading system, analyzing them.
He couldn't determine much from the destructive power alone, but the images just now seemed to carry the force of Tailed Beasts.
Naruto and the others should be able to deal with them after their specialized training and enhancements.
What's more, many of the monsters were humanoid—and possessed intelligence equal to or even surpassing that of humans. If their genes and energy sources could be thoroughly studied, it would be a tremendous gain.
After closing the trading panel, Kahn traveled to a massive training ground 40 kilometers in diameter, situated outside the capital. It belonged to the Daimyo Mansion and was normally protected by an enchantment—only those with the Alchemy Token of the Daimyo Mansion could enter.
As Kahn arrived, the sounds of intense fighting echoed from within.
Naruto and Sasuke were moving so quickly they seemed to be using the Body Flicker Technique nonstop. To an untrained eye, they were mere afterimages—blurs in motion. The sound of fists and kicks colliding rang out like muffled drums.
On the sidelines, Uchiha Mikoto had activated her Three Tomoe Sharingan. Without it, she wouldn't have been able to clearly observe the fight.
"Have they been training all morning? It looks like they're improving fast," she commented.
Kahn stepped between Uchiha Mikoto and Kushina, squeezing in a bit forcefully. Kushina's eyes narrowed immediately, and she casually elbowed him in the side, making him suck in a sharp breath.
Mikoto smiled gently and said in a soft voice, "Sasuke is still adapting to his new power. He hasn't said it out loud, but I can tell—he genuinely acknowledges Naruto's strength now."
Kushina sighed at that, then grumbled, "What good is being strong if you're a fool? If Naruto were at the same level as Sasuke in fighting talent, he would've been beaten ages ago. That dumb kid just lacks talent in battle."
"'Battle talent,' huh..." Kahn repeated with a touch of sarcasm.
He thought it was ironic coming from Kushina, who had always fought with brute force. In his eyes, Naruto at least strategized a little, even if he was still on the first step compared to Sasuke.
Kushina's fighting style was all power.
Before she gained vibration-based abilities, she used Tailed Beast Bombs and the Adamantine Sealing Chains. Afterward, her approach was simple—if one punch wasn't enough, she threw two. If two didn't work, she'd go with a hundred.
She fought purely by overwhelming force.
With her chakra and devastating vibration attacks, she bulldozed through enemies. During the annexation of the Land of Lightning, the 10,000-strong Cloud Shinobi army barely had time to react—just a few of Kushina's punches caused earthquakes felt across 20 to 30 kilometers. The army crumbled within the hour.
Kushina narrowed her pretty eyes. "You sound like you disagree."
Kahn shook his head, pulling her into a light hug. "What? I'm just agreeing with you."
"Idiot, not in public!" she hissed, cheeks flushing.
Mikoto chuckled softly at their banter. Just then, Naruto and Sasuke ended their sparring match and walked toward them. Spotting them, Kushina quickly stepped out of Kahn's embrace. She might act carefree in private, but in front of the children, she maintained the dignity of an elder.
"Father, when can we start the mission you mentioned?" Naruto asked, scratching the back of his head. "Sasuke's improving so fast—he'll be able to match me soon. You can rest easy. I'll protect him when the time comes, hehe—"
Whack!
Before he could finish, Kushina gave him a sharp punch on the head. Sasuke flinched in surprise.
"You idiot! If you had Sasuke's battle instincts, I wouldn't worry so much. You're still too weak, and you don't even try to learn from him!"
Holding his head, Naruto protested, "Come on, Mom! You're the one I learned from!"
He glanced at her fluttering red hair—a clear sign she was entering her rage mode. Even Kahn tried to avoid her when she was like this.
"Aunt Kushina, I'm still not as strong as Naruto," Sasuke admitted. "Even now, I only caught up thanks to Uncle Kahn's help."
Sasuke felt a little awkward saying "Uncle Kahn." He knew that Kahn was Reina's father and that his "big brother" owed his peaceful life to Kahn's help. It still felt strange, but Sasuke could tell Kahn didn't treat him like an outsider.
Despite how precious the secret techniques were, Kahn had shared them with both him and Naruto equally.
Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, the gene warrior enhancements, physical strengthening—Sasuke had received them all. Only after being strengthened did he truly understand just how powerful Naruto was. Before this, he'd never seen even 30% of Naruto's real strength.
"The help I could give, I've already given. As your elder, this is where my part ends," Kahn said with a smile. "Back when I was your age, I was just like you—eager to prove myself."
He turned to Naruto and Sasuke. "Each of you can choose three companions from the Federation of Fire. Then go study with Yoko. When you're ready, you'll set off in half a month."
"Yes!"
"Understood!"
They responded in unison, their eyes sparkling with anticipation. Neither of them wanted to stay in this world where the future felt predictable. They were ready to leap into the unknown.
Now that the Federation of Fire has unified the ninja world, expansion continues into new territories and unclaimed lands—but those places pose no real challenge. The so-called sea beasts and giant monsters are easily dealt with by Naruto and Sasuke.
Not to mention that Orochimaru has developed a variety of powerful guardians: domesticated fire dragons, Nine-Dragon Beasts, biomechanical warriors, and more. Within the Land of Fire, there's hardly anything left that can threaten them.
After arranging matters with Naruto and Sasuke, Kahn returned with Kushina and Mikoto.
The Holy Grail of Projection had also been properly set up. Kushina, Tsunade, and the others—including Kahn's children—had all signed contracts with it. Not only could they see Kahn anytime through it, but they also gained new abilities from the connection.
However, not long after returning to the Daimyo Mansion, Kahn received a summons from Tsunade.
When he arrived at the Konoha High Tower and saw who was there, Kahn immediately understood why she had called him.
An eerily familiar group stood before him—reanimated corpses in the form of Impure World Reincarnation. When Kahn entered, five or six pairs of eyes immediately turned toward him. Tsunade looked a bit awkward, and Nawaki stood beside her, scratching his head sheepishly.
"Ah, so you're Tsuna's husband, huh? Nawaki told me you're the Daimyo of the Land of Fire—and you've unified the ninja world!"
Senju Hashirama spoke with cracks covering his face, clapping his hands as he grinned. "Young people these days are really something. I can sense a tremendous power from you. And you've even brought lasting peace to the world... Looks like entrusting the future to the next generation was the right call."
"Brother, you had the same chance back then," Senju Tobirama interrupted, arms crossed. "If you'd listened to me, we could've unified the world far earlier than this generation."
Tobirama had once proposed the idea during the founding of Konoha. Ironically, in this, he had some alignment with Uchiha Madara—though Madara's methods were too extreme for Tobirama to accept.
Hashirama, however, had refused to act aggressively at the time. He feared that attacking other countries would make Konoha appear war-hungry, discouraging other clans from joining. Tobirama eventually agreed, deciding to delay the plan until Konoha was stronger.
But the events that followed derailed everything.
Even though Tobirama invented the Impure World Reincarnation to use the power of the dead, Hashirama rejected the idea—believing the dead should not interfere in the world of the living.
Now, seeing them again, Kahn gave a calm smile.
"It's an honor to meet the elders. Though Tsunade and I are married, I always felt it was a shame she had no family beside her on such an important day."
Before he could say more, someone muttered:
"Wasn't it you who got Orochimaru involved in this...?"
Kahn quickly cut Hashirama off with a grin. "Actually, I have a method to truly bring everyone back—not just as reanimated corpses, but full resurrection. Would you like to return to life for real?"
The moment he said it, everyone fell silent.
For the dead—especially those not ready to die—there was nothing more tempting than true resurrection.
Tsunade's brows furrowed at once. She knew nearly all of Kahn's secrets—except those related to the Otherworld. She was aware of his resurrection technique, but also knew it came at a heavy cost—it was a Deadly Forbidden Technique that could trade one life for another.
"You're not seriously going to use that Forbidden Technique, are you?" Tsunade glared at him. If that was his plan, she'd scold him harshly. Even if she longed to see her family again, she wouldn't accept the sacrifice of another loved one in return.
But Kahn simply smiled and reassured her.
"Don't worry. If I said it's possible, it means there's no danger. It won't cost me anything."
He explained that with the reanimated bodies already present, all that was needed was a sufficient supply of vitality. The Dark God's Grimoire included magic to extract and transform vitality—it was no longer a matter of life or death to Kahn.
The only real delay would be in Orochimaru researching the source of Pure Land chakra. Until that was understood, true resurrection would take time.
After hearing his explanation, Tsunade and the others were relieved and filled with anticipation.
Hashirama, however, scratched his head and murmured, "The dead returning to the land of the living... Is that really okay? Doesn't it blur the lines between life and death?"
"Brother, shut up!" Tobirama snapped.
"Father, I don't mind having died for Konoha. But now… I want to see my descendants again."
"Me too," added another voice.
Within seconds, three people—his younger brother, son, and daughter-in-law—all rebuked Hashirama at once. He was left stunned and quietly retreated to a corner.
While Hashirama's caution had merit, Kahn wasn't planning to revive everyone. A few people coming back wouldn't upset the balance.
The ninja world was vast. Four or five more people wouldn't change much.
Tsunade was especially moved. The man she loved wasn't just strong and resourceful—he truly cared for her. Not only was he helping Nawaki, but also trying to bring back her lost loved ones.
She couldn't help but lift her head high, chest proud. At this rate, she'd soon be introducing her husband to her entire ancestral line.
After some discussion, the plan was finalized.
They would proceed with resurrection—but only after a breakthrough in Pure Land research. Once that was complete, Kahn would act.
During this period, Senju Tobirama agreed to assist in the research. After all, he was the first ninja to develop Forbidden Techniques that changed the course of history.
In the end, a total of five people would be resurrected. Aside from Senju Tobirama, the others were two couples.
After settling her family, Tsunade returned to the Daimyo Mansion in an exceptionally good mood. The earlier resentment she had felt—over her relatives being treated as reanimated corpses—vanished completely. That night, she even indulged Kahn in several "postures" she had previously refused.
From the passionate fusion of fire and water to the entwining of spirit snakes, Kahn felt like black magic was worth every ounce of effort. As for his previous resolve to "reboot" or restrain himself—well, that had long since been abandoned.
Half a month later, early morning.
Kahn, still in a haze of indulgence, was abruptly reminded by the Red Queen that today was the day Yoko and the others were scheduled to depart.
He immediately lifted his head from Tsunade's bed, gently removed Nono's long, pale legs from atop him, carefully shifted Nohara Rin back to her pillow, then slipped past Nono and climbed out of bed.
Actually, all the preparations had already been completed a few days ago.
This time, there was a significant amount of material to be handed over to Yoko.
Kahn still needed to monitor the ninja world, and eventually make a trip to the One Piece world to place a Projection Holy Grail. But the New World's development had been stagnant for some time, so he had decided to entrust that responsibility to Yoko and her team.
There were ten members in total. In addition to Sasuke and Naruto, who each selected three companions, Yoko also brought her friend, Tenten.
Kahn was already familiar with Tenten. She had experience managing the chamber of commerce, and with Yoko needing reliable assistance, inviting her was a natural decision.
The goods had also been prepared in advance—items that, while not considered top-tier in the Kahn Chamber of Commerce, would fetch a high price in another modern-tech world, as long as there was no product incompatibility.
At this stage, buying and selling was just the beginning. With access to resources from multiple worlds, it was only logical to adopt a kind of "colonial strategy" upon entering a new world. Once Yoko and the others established a firm foothold, they would begin expanding the influence of the Kahn Chamber of Commerce—and when that time came, Kahn would return to reap the results.
"It looks like you're all ready. Let me say one last thing," Kahn said, addressing them seriously.
"The Holy Grail can indeed save your life in a crisis. But if you're saved by it, you'll lose the right to continue the mission—and you won't be allowed to take part in future missions either. So don't treat it lightly."
Everyone—Yoko, Naruto, and the others—nodded seriously. The ability to survive even after death was already an incredible gift. But they understood that failure would mean losing their chance. They had mentally prepared themselves.
"I'll now set up the Holy Grail. In a moment, each of you will receive its call. When that happens, don't resist it."
