Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: I Like Peaches

Qian Renxue continued to hold his hand until they reached out as she breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately this bad sense of direction only worked when he walked in front.

However, upon exiting and realising that she had held a handsome man's hand for the entire trip her face reddened up for a bit before she composed herself.

"So what do you want to eat? My treat of course." Qian Renxue asked.

Acheron had no delay in response, "Anything with peaches." His face remained the same however strangely Qian Renxue could see a hint of longing when he thought of peaches.

For a powerhouse, he didn't quite fit the image. Usually they'd be all arrogant and demanding payment or holding a favor over people's head.

This powerhouse almost seemed too docile and friendly. Yet he was happy with peaches. Qian Renxue combed her mind before deciding on bringing him to the pastry shop she had seen before.

"Alright, I know a good pastry shop likely to have peach dishes." Acheron nodded before following her into the city.

Along the way Acheron took in all the sights of a city in a new world. It was a breath of fresh air, a small ray of light in his day.

The pair eventually arrived at the shop as she sat him down before heading out of sight to order.

She arrived in a corner of the restaurant before another older man soon appeared. "Miss, do you need me to keep an eye on him?" Qian Renxue shook her head, "What do you think of him Uncle Snake?"

She Long thought for a brief moment, "Dangerous, very dangerous. Yet looking at him, I can't put one and two together."

Qian Renxue looked confused as She Long elaborated, "His speed was too fast for me to keep up with. However, what I'm concerned about is that strange feeling about him. It's like nothing."

She Long tried to elaborate "It's like falling into a bottomless pit, that's the feeling I get when I look at him."

The girl secretly took another glimpse at Acheron who had successfully found a peach within his coat sleeve and was nibbling bit by bit.

She Long simply shook his head, "He's doesn't even act like a powerhouse either."

Qian Renxue simply dismissed the rest of the discussion "I'll head back after I finish eating with him"

The pastries were soon served as Acheron continued to eat bit by bit. The pastries were tasteless with the only saving grace being the subtle sweetness of the peach flavour.

Qian Renxue seemed to enjoy this small time of peace as they soon finished. She took out a small plaque and handed it to him. "Here, if you ever need help or information just use this to find me."

Acheron nodded before pocketing the plaque into his subspace storage.

Qian Renxue waved goodbye to him as he got up and continued to wonder around. With no way of telling which direction was what, he simply walked in a single direction.

Time passed and he realised he was once again lost. However it was a blessing for the villages he encountered.

He had defeated all the bandits that were about to besiege the village. As a result he had secured himself supplies to continue his journey.

Just as he was about to leave a voice called out. "Excuse me, wait a minute." He turned around at the direction of the voice.

Three people came into view, two men and one woman. One had fiery red hair, the other had black hair with bangs covering one eye, and the woman although looking ordinary, she had a unique charm.

He simply asked, "Is there anything you need me for?" He stared at the man with similar style before internally thinking that the bangs did not suit him.

"My name is Hu Liena, this is Xie Yue and this is Yan." She introduced their group to him as he nodded. It was likely he would forget their names soon.

Xie Yue continued observing the mysterious man, if all this was done by him, then he was not so simple.

He introduced himself too, "You can just call me Acheron, a wandering ranger."

Hu Liena soon posed a question, "Excuse me, were you the one who cleared out all the bandits around here?"

Her face was serious, with all these bandits the three of them might have found it tough. But if he did this alone then...

Acheron simply nodded cementing her thoughts and elevating his danger level.

Considering all of this, this strange ranger was far more dangerous than her initial thoughts. However what was concerning was there was no feel of spirit power.

He soon explained to the group, "I was traveling and then I got lost. Eventually I was lucky enough to find this village. I saw that the bandits were about to attack so I killed them. The villagers helped me by pointing out directions to another city."

The three of them took a deep breath as their spines ran cold.

According to information, most of the bandits were at soul king rank. Even with the three of them, victory was not certain.

Hu Liena bowed slightly as she thanked him, "Ranger Acheron, I thank you for your assistance on behalf of the villagers and civilians living here."

"Our mission was to wipe out the bandits and return this place to a peaceful sanctuary for the people."

"If you hadn't taken action, I'm sure that many more would have died before we could solve this issue."

It was at this point that Yan puffed his chest out and and patted it confidently before declaring, "Don't worry Nana, no matter how difficult the task is, I'll protect you."

Acheron found this scene very dull. It was like looking at the chat of a Herta Virtual Idol channel on the IPC media broadcasting.

Hu Liena could only turn her head for a moment to let out a look of displeasure. She thought of Yan as a brother but he wanted to be her romantic partner.

Such a relationship is confusing to navigate and hard to maintain.

The three of them had grown up together and he had protected her from harm many times. To say that she did not feel grateful would be a lie. She was touched, but.

Simply being moved did not equate to love. Can't siblings also be moved by each other's actions?

Acheron simply grew bored of this as he spoke, "If there is nothing more you need of me, I'll be heading off now.

"Wait, perhaps can we ask for instruction senior?" Yan asked. Hu Liena paled as Acheron simply tilted his head in confusion.

He was struggling to figure out where this sudden request came from.

However he was wishing to leave soon and agreed. "Very well, however I'd like to finish fast."

The trio observed him holding the long blade still sheathed. "Are you sure you won't unsheathe the blade?" Hu Liena asked. Acheron shook his head, "Safety purposes, this blade cuts with the sheath on."

"Trilateral Wiltcross"

In an instant a flash of purple lightning they saw black.
