Everyone unanimously decided on having hotpot, so Wen Nuan and Ye Feimo simply ate lunch before heading to the supermarket to buy ingredients, preparing lots of hotpot items. Wen Nuan started getting busy from a little after four o'clock, with Ye Feimo unusually taking the initiative to help out in the kitchen. Wen Nuan teased him about making more work for her and told him to go play video games in the living room, but Ye Feimo insisted on helping out in the kitchen. The two chatted and cooked together, and Wen Nuan really liked this cozy feeling, even though Ye Feimo was all thumbs when it came to washing vegetables.
In addition to preparing hotpot, Wen Nuan also made several of her specialty dishes: curry crab with vermicelli, chicken wings stewed in red wine, duck braised in beer, and beef brisket stew. She also prepared a refreshing lettuce salad, a cold asparagus dish, a fruit platter, and a seafood salad, along with ten different desserts to cater to everyone's tastes.
