Captain Helrin's group Vs the Spear Orvalisk
The battlefield roared to life as Captain Helrin's group charged forward on horseback, dust and debris rising in their wake. The Spear Orvalisk loomed ahead, its colossal form casting a long shadow over the devastated village.
Helrin's sharp voice cut through the chaos. "Brace yourselves! We're engaging now!"
Lala let out a hearty laugh, gripping her spear tightly. "Ha! As if that big guy knows how to handle a spear better than me!" With reckless confidence, she spurred her horse forward, breaking formation.
"Lala, wait—!" Helrin shouted, but it was too late.
The Spear Orvalisk took immediate notice of them. With a guttural roar, it smashed through a nearby house, grabbing massive chunks of debris and hurling them like bowling balls.
"INCOMING!" Helrin warned.
With precise movements, she dodged the first projectile, slicing through three chunks of debris with elegant, controlled sword swings. Kash shouted to Viyo, "Burn it down, Viyo!"
The crimson-winged creature flapped its wings, releasing a barrage of fiery explosions that incinerated the incoming debris mid-air.
Jeremi rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding a massive hunk of wood, then countered with a precise spear thrust, shattering another projectile before it reached him.
Melina, remaining calm, chanted under her breath. A glowing magic circle materialized beneath her. "Flame Blast!" A surge of fire erupted, obliterating three incoming projectiles. Without pause, she conjured a Mana Shield, blocking the remaining shards.
Meanwhile, Lala continued her reckless charge, using her horse's momentum to leap into the air. She expertly used falling debris as stepping stones, flipping and twisting mid-air while slicing through three more chunks with rapid spear strikes. As she soared, her grin widened.
"Let's see how you like this!" Lala spun her spear, shifting into an aerial stance. With a precise thrust, she unleashed True Thrust, driving her spear deep into the Spear Orvalisk's gut. The force of her attack staggered the massive creature backward, its roar shaking the air.
Before it could retaliate, a sudden vacuum force yanked Lala off its body. "Wha—?!" she gasped as she was pulled mid-air toward the rooftops.
Melina stood atop a nearby roof, her palm extended, a Magic Circle Vacuum still glowing beneath her feet. Without even looking at Lala, she turned and sprinted toward a better vantage point.
Lala landed beside her, pouting. "Hmph. A little warning next time, huh?"
Melina remained silent, already forming another spell. "Tch! Rude!~" Lala huffed, then took off, leaping across rooftops, closing in from behind the Spear Orvalisk.
On the ground, Helrin, Kash, and Jeremi dismounted, their focus sharpening. The Spear Orvalisk recovered from Lala's blow, its burning gaze locking onto them. With a bellowing roar, it gripped its weapon tighter and executed a Triple Spear Thrust toward them, the massive spearhead crashing down like meteors.
"Dodge!" Helrin commanded.
The first thrust shattered the ground, sending shockwaves in all directions. Kash and Jeremi sidestepped the second, the gust from its impact almost knocking them off balance. The third came directly for Helrin—
She reacted in a heartbeat, backstepping at the last moment, feeling the wind whip past her as the massive spear embedded itself in the ground. Wasting no time, she dashed forward.
Her blade gleamed as she leapt onto the embedded spear's shaft, using it as a ramp to run up the Orvalisk's weapon. With each step, she slashed deep into its arm, her blade carving through its black armored flesh. She reached the shoulder, flipped mid-air, and drove her longsword straight into its shoulder joint.
Jeremi took his chance. With a fierce battle cry, he rushed forward, thrusting his spear with a Drill Spear technique, piercing deep into the Orvalisk's left shin.
"Viyo, go for its face!" Kash ordered.
Viyo screeched and darted forward, striking with a relentless combination of Flame Blitz and Fire Wing Slashes, forcing the Orvalisk to recoil as fire raked across its face.
From below, Melina unleashed a relentless Flame Bolt Volley, each projectile striking true, scorching the creature's thick shell.
Then, from behind the Spear Orvalisk, a sudden, high-speed blur streaked forward. It was Lala.
"Pure Nature's Malachite Coating—Mach Thrust!" She launched from the rooftop, her spear glowing with vibrant green energy. In a single, devastating motion, she struck with pinpoint precision, driving her spear deep into the Spear Orvalisk's back.
Although, the battle was far from over.

While on Jun's group...
Jun's group Vs the Fist Orvalisk
Jun's group rushed forward in tense silence, weapons at the ready, eyes locked on the towering behemoth before them—the Fist Orvalisk. Unlike the others they had encountered, this one was sharper, more aware, as if it possessed a tactical mind. Jun felt it in his gut.
"Spread out! Now!" he commanded.
Without hesitation, the group leaped off their horses. The Fist Orvalisk moved with blinding speed, its massive fist crashing down, obliterating the ground where their mounts had stood. The brutal impact sent a shockwave rippling through the battlefield, dust and debris scattering into the air. The sickening crunch of the crushed and blasted away horses made Jun's blood boil, but he then frustratingly grinned at the Fist Orvalisk.
"Well... This'll be fun..."
In a flash, he dashed up the nearest wall, using the momentum to vault onto the rooftops. As he ran, he flicked his wrists, sending a volley of razor-sharp needles toward the Orvalisk's joints. Some embedded themselves in its tough hide, but the beast growled and swatted an incoming needle aside. Without missing a beat, it hurled its fist at Jun with terrifying force.
"Tch!" Jun clicked his tongue and sprang back just in time, the fist smashing straight through the rooftop, sending wood, stone and rubble cascading into the streets below.
Sun Dei saw his chance. He leaped through the air, his flaming flail igniting in a bright inferno. With a roar, he swung, slamming the weapon into the side of the Orvalisk's head. The impact staggered the beast, but it quickly regained its footing and countered with a monstrous punch aimed at Sun Dei.
Jun's reaction was instant—he fired his wired hook with precision, latching onto Sun Dei's armor and yanking him to safety just before the Orvalisk's fist crashed into the spot where he had stood.
"You owe me one!" Jun called out.
The Orvalisk snarled in frustration, it's cracks burning with rage as it raised its fists for another attack. This time, it swung a straight punch downward, aiming to crush them both.
"Not happening!" Uelrock growled as he stepped in, his great hammer raised high. With all his might, he met the Orvalisk's punch with a thunderous swing. The impact sent a shockwave across the battlefield, the sheer force pushing the Orvalisk back as its arm trembled from the counterstrike.
Angered, the Orvalisk slammed its fists into the ground, ripping up chunks of stone and debris. It then hurled the deadly projectiles at the three warriors. Sun Dei reacted first, conjuring a Fire Shield. Uelrock layered it with a Rock Wall, but the debris tore through their defenses. Smaller shards pelted them, causing minor wounds.
A small rock suddenly struck the Orvalisk's head. It turned its gaze toward a rooftop, where Yu stood with clenched fists, her stance sharp and focused.
"You killed the horses! And hurt my comrades!" she shouted, her voice laced with fury. "I won't forgive you!"
The Orvalisk let out a guttural growl and raised its fist before bringing it down upon Yu in a devastating arc. But just as it made contact, Yu executed a perfect Petal Palm Parry, redirecting the attack with elegance. The Orvalisk hesitated, momentarily confused by the unexpected deflection.
Yu grinned. "What's wrong? Too slow?"
Her taunt enraged the beast. It unleashed a flurry of rapid punches, the sheer speed creating sonic booms that cracked the air. Yu deflected them as best she could, but each parry drained her strength. Sweat dripped down her brow as she realized she wouldn't last much longer.
Then, the Orvalisk pulled back its fist, red and yellow energy surging and bulging through its arm. With unimaginable speed, it thrust forward, a strike too powerful to parry. Yu braced herself, preparing to clash with her Lotus Pounding Fist, knowing full well she would take damage.
"You're not alone, idiot!" Zac roared as he rushed in. He met Yu's attack with his Tiger Armed Punch, their combined strength intercepting the Orvalisk's devastating strike. The resulting shockwave sent dust and rubble flying. The Orvalisk was forced back, momentarily stunned.
Zac grinned at Yu. "Don't try to be a hero by yourself."
Yu smirked. "Fine. Let's take this thing on together, huh?"
The Orvalisk roared, its fists glowing once more as it launched another barrage of red-and-yellow energy-infused punches. Yu and Zac charged forward, fists flying as they met each attack head-on. Yu's Blossom Rushing Punches and Zac's Wild Claw Barrage struck with blinding speed, countering the Orvalisk's monstrous strength.
While the beast was preoccupied, Jun emerged from the dust below, his dagger Vinyr clenched between his teeth as he used his All-Four Rush race ability. In a flash, he reached the Orvalisk's legs and leaped, driving his poison-laced blade deep into the creature's left thigh with a Poison Pierce. The Orvalisk let out a pained snarl, staggering as the venom slowly seeped into its system.
Sun Dei, perched on a nearby rooftop, swung his flaming flail in a wide arc. With a battle cry, he hurled it straight at the Orvalisk's face. The burning weapon struck true, sending the beast reeling.
"Uelrock! Now!" Jun and Sun Dei shouted.
Uelrock didn't hesitate. With a mighty roar, he swung his greathammer, delivering a Hard Stone Slam straight into the Orvalisk's chest. The impact sent the beast skidding backward, cracking the ground beneath it.
A deep, ominous hum filled the battlefield.
The Orvalisk's chest plate slowly split open, revealing a core pulsating with raw energy. Red and yellow arcs of lightning and energy crackled around its raised fists as it prepared for its next assault.
Jun wiped the sweat from his brow. "Well, damn... it's not done yet."
The Fist Orvalisk let out an earth-shaking roar, its power surging as it readied for more.

While on Naoto's groups end...
The thunderous gallop of hooves echoed through the war-torn streets as Naoto's group raced toward the towering menace ahead. The Scythe Orvalisk loomed over the devastated town, its enormous, jagged stone body cutting through structures like paper. Entire houses were split in half with each cleaving swing of its grotesque weapon, while its heavy feet crushed what remained beneath.
Naoto, seated casually atop his horse, suddenly pulled on the reins, slowing down.
Moon Dew, riding beside him, furrowed her brows. "Why are you slowing down?"
Naoto smirked lazily as he began lighting a cigarette. "I'll give you guys a chance. Beat that ginormous, stone-covered freak... and if things get bad, I'll step in." He raised a thumbs-up with a confident grin.
Moon Dew exhaled through her nose, unwilling to argue. Behind them, Joan and Alfie shot each other a glance, Moon Dew exhaled through her nose, unwilling to argue. Behind them, Joan and Alfie shot each other knowing glances.
"Our leader's staying back?" Joan muttered.
Moon Dew sighed. "He's… 'giving us a chance.'"
Alfie scoffed, gripping her weapon tighter. "What a cocky, pretty-faced asshole."
Joan smirked. "Well… he was a convict, after all. Maybe he's scared to fight someone with a scythe bigger than his own."
Naoto only chuckled at the remark as he casually watched from a distance. Meanwhile, the Scythe Orvalisk continued its rampage—another arc of its massive blade tore through rooftops, sending debris flying. It stomped forward, flattening what remained of the ruined homes beneath its stone-encased feet.
Alfie narrowed her eyes. "Tch. No more talking. We're bringing this thing down."
With that, she launched herself from her horse, spinning mid-air before delivering a precise, lightning-fast Swift Piercing Thrust to the Orvalisk's left leg. The impact shattered part of the stone armor, causing the creature to stagger backward with a deep, guttural roar.
The group dismounted. Joan, Moon Dew, and Melty signaled their horses to disperse before fanning out.
"Surround it!" Moon Dew barked. "Attack from all sides!"
The team moved in perfect synchronization. Joan and Alfie charged straight ahead, weaving through the chaotic battlefield. The Scythe Orvalisk roared and swung its weapon downward in a deadly arc.
Joan barely dodged to the right, Alfie veering left, as the massive scythe shattered the earth between them. They pressed forward—Joan's twin swords gleamed as she delivered a flurry thrusts to the Orvalisk's left leg, slicing through cracks in its armor. Meanwhile, Alfie activated Swift Foot, dashing up its leg in rapid, effortless movements. She landed on its knee, stabbed deep into the exposed rock, and executed a Crossed Pierce before leaping upward.
"Precise Thrust!"
With blinding speed, Alfie drove her spearhead into the Scythe Orvalisk's gut, causing it to let out an agonized screech.
Above, Moon Dew was already in position. From the rooftop, she spun her sickle in a perfect circular motion—a sharp wave of slicing wind fired off the blade.
"Flying Circular!"
The projectile slashed across the Orvalisk's back, leaving deep glowing cuts.
Meanwhile, Melty took advantage of its staggered state. She leaped onto its raised left arm, sprinting up to the shoulder before plunging her dagger into its neck, twisting it viciously before stabbing again.
The Scythe Orvalisk let out a deafening, earth-shaking roar. It spun its scythe in a whirlwind, a tornado of slashing destruction that tore through the air—
WHROOSH!
A violent shockwave sent Joan, Moon Dew, Melty, and Alfie flying, their bodies crashing against debris and rubble. Nearby buildings crumbled into dust, completely obliterated by the force.
Alfie, by sheer luck, landed in a pile of hay—but even then, the pain coursed through her body.

Naoto Approaches
Naoto finally moved. Walked forward, his pace leisurely, his expression unreadable.
"You, heal 'em!" he called.
Gerald, who had been stationed far back, nodded sharply. He raised his staff, the gem at its tip glowing in a soft, warm green light.
"Healing Light."
A soothing glow enveloped the four fallen fighters. Their wounds began to close, the pain fading as strength returned to their bodies.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Naoto smirked, spinning his Angel Scythe between his fingers before resting it on his shoulder.
"I was feeling rusty," he muttered, stretching his neck. Then, he slammed his palm onto the ground.
"Brainless Rising."
The earth cracked open beneath him, and from the abyss, undead warriors erupted forth. Decayed knights, skeletal soldiers, and ghostly mages rose in droves—some clutching rusted weapons, others forming arcane sigils in the air.
Moon Dew, still catching her breath, widened her eyes. "What… the hell…?"
The Brainless horde charged at the Scythe Orvalisk, their swords clashing against the creature's rocky hide. Mage specters unleashed a relentless barrage of elemental spells—fireballs, lightning strikes, and icy spears raining down, forward, and upward upon the enemy.
The Scythe Orvalisk, now enraged, roared and cleaved through the undead with brutal efficiency. Limbs and spectral bodies were sliced apart with each swing.
Then, with a monstrous snarl, it slammed its palm onto the ground, scraping its massive fingers across the dirt and stone and scraps before hurling a storm of razor-sharp debris at the Brainless mages.
"Tsk!" Naoto clicked his tongue.
He raised a hand, and in an instant, a massive Light Shield materialized in front of the mages. The flying debris slammed into the barrier, scattering harmlessly.
The others stared, stunned.
"H-He can use light magic too?!" Joan whispered in disbelief.
Naoto sighed, clearly annoyed. "What an irksome being…"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He slammed his scythe into the ground, then pressed both hands to the earth.
The ground rumbled.
"High Dead Rise."
A colossal shadow burst forth—a towering, skeletal Giant King, its crimson eyes burning with unnatural fire. Naoto stood casually on its shoulder, looking down with a smirk.
And in front of them…
A figure flipped mid-air, landing gracefully.
The 1st Chosen Hero.
The resurrected warrior now wielded a sharp-bone ethereal replica of his legendary blade he once wielded before—called Alhikayr, the Great Bone Blade. He swung it once, the air splitting from the sheer force.
The five warriors watching were frozen in sheer disbelief.
"T-The First Hero?!"
Naoto thrust his hand forward and snapped his fingers. "Hit him with it!"
The Giant King charged, while the 1st Chosen Hero sprinted up a crumbling building, using the momentum to leap toward the Scythe Orvalisk.
The Orvalisk swung its weapon at the Giant King, but the latter deflected it with a heavy iron club, sending sparks flying. Then, with unbelievable speed, the Giant King lunged through the dust cloud and smashed its shoulder with its club, making the Orvalisk stagger.
The Scythe Orvalisk's chest split open—
A beam of chaotic energy fired!
The Giant King was blasted back, skidding across the battlefield.
Naoto landed smoothly, his gaze flicking between the injured Giant King and the still-standing Orvalisk.
Then—
The Scythe Orvalisk split its scythe into two.The battlefield rumbled.
Cracks formed in the ground as an overwhelming surge of resurrection magic erupted from beneath. A gigantic, spectral figure materialized, its form flickering like an ethereal ghost of the past.
Naoto, standing tall, smirked as he extended his arms dramatically.
"Say hello… TO MY THIRD ACE!"
From the trembling earth, a towering, ghostly figure emerged—Crockus, the Supreme Golem, a Former Demon Lord of Elemental Magic, now reborn in his ethereal, resurrected form.
Five warriors—Joan, Alfie, Moon Dew, Melty, and even the First Chosen Hero—watched in stunned silence, their eyes widening in unison (except for the First Chosen Hero).
"That Demon Lord?!" their minds echoed in synchronized shock (well... except for the First Chosen Hero).
Naoto let out a hearty laugh, rolling his shoulders as he locked eyes with the Scythe Orvalisk, in his own thoughts, he muttered "Yes, after everyone left after grieving the death of Tobe Kusakabe, I used High Dead Rise and managed to retrieve the soul of that Demon Lord!" his golden irises gleaming with deadly amusement.
"Let's get this party started, eh?"
And then—he vanished.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Naoto vs. The Scythe Orvalisk!
A blinding streak of motion cut through the air. Naoto reappeared behind the Scythe Orvalisk, his Angel Scythe already mid-swing.
His blade sliced cleanly through the monster's left shin, leaving a glowing gash as he twisted his body in a fluid, effortless motion.
He vanished again.
SLASH—SLASH—SLASH!
Naoto's form blurred across the battlefield, streaking past the Orvalisk's chest while carving razor-thin wounds across its blackened body.
Then, using the momentum, Naoto soared into the air, twirling his Angel Scythe before sending a barrage of crescent-shaped scythe slash projectiles hurtling toward the Orvalisk's body.
SHING! SHING! SHING!
But the Orvalisk's massive, monstrous arms moved with terrifying speed, blocking most of the slashes with its hardened exoskeleton.
Then, its mouth opened wide.
A crackling, unstable surge of chaotic energy formed within its chest, the dark-red glow spiraling with destruction.
BWWWWWWHHHMMM—!!
A beam of pure devastation erupted from the Orvalisk's core, heading straight for Naoto.
But Naoto was already prepared.
With a flick of his wrist, he conjured a thick, dense Light Shield, his golden aura burning intensely as the beam collided
The force of the blast pushed him back mid-air, heat licking at his skin. He gritted his teeth, feeling the sheer intensity of the energy trying to rip through him.
"Tch… That felt stinging hot," Naoto muttered, his smirk still present.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The First Chosen Hero then joins the fight
SHOOOOM—!
A glowing ethereal slash projectile tore through the sky, colliding against the side of the Orvalisk's head.
The impact was thunderous—the Orvalisk reeled back, momentarily stunned.
From the distance, the First Chosen Hero lowered his greatsword, his eyes locked on the beast.
The Orvalisk snarled and immediately lunged toward him, bringing both of its massive arms wielding 2 huge scythes down in a brutal, overhead strike.
But the First Chosen Hero was already moving.
CLANG!
With effortless grace, he parried the descending scythe blade, sending out a sharp, reverberating shockwave.
The Orvalisk roared in frustration, its movements turning wild and erratic.
It unleashed a relentless flurry of slashes, its massive twin scythes cutting through the air with devastating force.
But the First Chosen Hero wasn't chosen as a hero for nothing.
He sidestepped. Twisted. Deflected. Parried.
Each movement was fluid and precise, as if he were dancing with death itself.
And then he found an opening.
With a single, elegant swing of his greatsword—
SLASH!
Both of the Orvalisk's hands were severed, cleanly cut away from its monstrous body.
The Orvalisk let out a guttural screech, its glowing chest core pulsating violently.
It opened its chest cavity and prepared another destructive energy blast.
But Crockus, the resurrected Demon Lord, hovered forward.
With his right index finger, he gathered a concentrated sphere of swirling multi-elemental energy—fire, lightning, wind, ice—all compressing into a single, piercing beam.
Then both beams collided.
A colossal shockwave blasted outward, sending debris flying. The two attacks wrestled for dominance—the Orvalisk's chaotic destruction against Crockus's pure elemental force.
But Crockus's focused beam pierced through.
It ripped through the Orvalisk's energy core, shattering it as the monster let out a bloodcurdling, distorted roar.
"NOW!" Naoto bellowed.
The Giant King, finally recovered, raised his massive iron club.
With a thunderous step, he lunged forward.
His iron club collided against the Orvalisk's side, sending the monster reeling once more.
It turned to face the Giant King—only to see the massive fist of a godlike entity descending toward its weakened core.
BOOOOOOOOOM!!
The Giant King's punch connected, shattering the Orvalisk's core into bits.
But the fight wasn't over yet.
Standing atop the Giant King's shoulder, Naoto spun his Angel Scythe, resting it against his back.
Then—he vanished.
A faint blur appeared behind the crippled Orvalisk.
"Checkmate."
SHING!
With a single, precise slash, Naoto's scythe cleaved through the Orvalisk's neck.
The monster's massive head fell from its shoulders, hitting the ground with a sickening thud.
The lifeless body stood motionless for a moment before collapsing, sending tremors across the battlefield.
Standing atop the Orvalisk's corpse, Naoto exhaled a plume of smoke, flicking his cigarette aside. His golden eyes gleamed as he muttered, almost to himself.
"You're far too weak… Unlike him." As he then thought and remembered back in the past "Yes, 5 months ago... I managed to retrieve the soul of the Demon Lord... but oddly... I never found Tobe Kusakabe's soul..." as he then felt a raindrop hit his face and slowly faced up to the sky as rain started to pour down upon the kingdom. "Well... that just makes this even more dramatic... huh?" he silently muttered to himself.
Joan, Alfie, Moon Dew, Melty, and the First Chosen Hero watched in stunned silence.
Their minds echoed in unison.
"So that's the power of the 7th Ranked Raven of the Cheery Black..."
They had successfully eliminated the Scythe Orvalisk.
Two Orvalisks down. Three more to go…
