Time in the trial space flowed quickly.
In the span of three hours, Michael cycled through all three roles. Hunter, Hunted, Freeman.
When he was a Hunter, he made sure his target never slipped away. He stalked the red dot with relentless precision, cutting through participants with a ruthless efficiency.
When he became the Hunted, however, he didn't even consider fighting. Instead, he ran. For thirty minutes, his only goal was survival. And when the timer finally dissolved into light and the system rewarded him [+20 to all stats] twice since he was unlucky to have become an hunted twice in a row, Michael realized just how absurd the payoff for surviving as prey was. Twice the bonus of a Hunter.
By the end of the second cycle, his body thrummed with power. His stats were already high compared to most participants thanks to his level advantage and it only grew as the moments passed.
It was then Michael decided that no more passive running.
