Chapter 115 - Jealous

She pulled herself away from his grip. She cleared her throat to ease the tension in the room.

"I need to go, I have an appointment." She slipped past him and walked towards the door.

Her steps halted when she heard Greyson's words.

"You're on a holiday, Emy."

Her teeth grind against each other, and she turned to face him.

"Are you stalking me?" she snapped.

He chuckled at her words. He stared down at her. Emeralde shivered. She couldn't decipher the feeling twisting in her chest. Those eyes. Those icy blue eyes.

"Let's say, I did my research."

Before she could utter a word, her phone rang. She dropped her gaze to her purse to retrieve it. A smile plastered on her face when she saw the caller's ID.

"Hello, Michael"

Michael? Who's Michael? His jaw ticked when he heard the name.

"Ok, see you tonight."

"Who's Michael, Emy?"

Greyson snapped. The room was silent. She stepped back from him.

"And why do you care who Michael is?"

"Michael?" he chuckled. "Michael has no business calling your phone when you're with me, Emeralde."

Emeralde exhaled sharply and rubbed her temple.

"I would appreciate it if you would mind your business, Greyson. You're not my mother."

"Your mother? I am more than that, if only you would remember that."

She breathed out and looked him in the eyes.

"Quit calling me Emy, and make your sentences more reasonable, Greyson. You're not a baby. You're a grown ass man, for fuck sake."

***********NIGHT******

Greyson lay on his back, staring at the ceiling. His clock kept ticking in the dark. He hasn't slept. Is she meeting him tonight as she said? The thought sat in his chest like a stone. He pushed his sheets aside and sat up. Running his hand through his hair, he took his phone from the nightstand.

"I want the location of the number I sent to you."

Before the other person could talk, he hung up, shoved his legs into his pants and grabbed his keys from the nightstand.

If Michael thinks he can take his girl away from him, then he has to rethink his life choices.

Greyson stepped out of his car and slammed the door shut behind him.

The restaurant buzzed with classical music and quiet conversation. His eyes swept across the room. And then he saw her. Emeralde sat near the window, her back straight, her hands wrapped around her fork. Across from her sat a man he had never seen before.

"Michael," his jaw tightened as he said the name. He walked towards them.

"Hello, can I join?"

Greyson pulled a chair from one of the empty tables and sat beside Emeralde.

Her back stiffened. She turned to see the annoying parasite smiling at her.

"What are you doing here?" she mouthed the question. Greyson winked at her before sitting.
