Avery woke up as early as she could. Today, being the trip day, she had to make sure she checked everything and nothing was left behind. They had planned a week's trip to Fresh Green, which is a private land that had a vacation house owned by the Gibsons. Avery left her room for the kitchen; the huge windows illuminated the dawn. She halted in her footsteps when she heard murmuring from the kitchen.
" You know what to do. Peter, make sure they don't come back. And clear any witnesses you see. No evidence or mistake."
"Aunt Hannah?" Avery said.
Hannah flinched. She dropped her phone when she heard a voice.
Avery walked towards her and took the phone, which had fallen. She handed it to her. Hannah cleared her throat and grabbed her phone. She plastered a smile on her face and asked, " What are you doing here, child?"
Avery bit her lower lip, as Aunt Hannah stretched her hand for her phone, the smell of blood raved under her nose.
"-I-I was just here for water", Avery answered.
She raised her gaze at Hannah and asked, " What about you?"
" Oh, I had to see if the maids had prepared everything for your trip. I'm done here. See you in a week."
Hannah rushed out of the kitchen. Avery raised her brow at her but shrugged off any thought which tried to occupy her mind.
***********
Her head rested on the car window. The landscape of the neighbourhood was disappearing from her sight.
" Are you Ok?" Alex asked while driving.
He'd noticed she was lost in thought since dawn. Wasn't she excited for the trip?
Alex held her hand with his free hand. Avery sighed before saying.
" Do you find Aunt Hannah strange sometimes?"
Alex raised a brow at her, "What do you mean?"
" Nothing. Just forget whatever I said."
Alex wasn't convinced. But he dropped the topic.
********* An hour later ********
Avery hummed a song when she got out of the car. Alex brought out their luggage. Avery drank in the mansion in front of her. She clasped her hands together and grinned.
Alex stood beside her and wrapped his hand around her shoulders.
" What do you think? Do you like it?"
Avery turned to him. " Like it? I love it. Look at this. This really looks like a vacation home. With the trees and the green environment, and how everything smells like nature. Loving it is not the right word."
Alex chuckled at her. "Wait till you see inside."
Alex took her on a tour. Later, they settled in their room. Alex hugged Avery's waist and rested his chin on her shoulder.
"I wish the others wouldn't come. I don't wanna share you with anyone"
Avery giggled. She cupped his cheek.
"Don't be silly. Promise me you will behave, Alexander."
Alex groaned. He loves it when she mentions his full name. Blood rushed into his pants, and he adjusted himself.
"I love it when you mention my name like that." He whispered in her ear.
Avery shivered when his warm lip touched her ear. Alex rubbed himself behind her.
"HONK!!!"
They got startled by the sound of the car. Avery pushed herself away from him.
"They are here." She said.
Alex groaned. He hated this.
"Can't we ignore them?" he asked.
Avery shot him with a deadly glare.
"We can't, Mister. We are the hosts. Now behave"
Avery rushed downstairs to greet her friends. Alex groaned. He pulled his hair and looked at himself in the mirror.
" Behave, Alex. Behave."
